Just brought 4 boxes for my Iranians. It's a nifty kit.

I really enjoy building these. Good luck with your Iranians.

I have ten of these for my 100 point army and to give some verity I took out some sections of the side skirts and I made a troop of 3 Stilbrews.

Nice! So far I have made one. One day I will build the rest, and maybe get them some friends, and maybe play a game of Team Yankee. One day... :-) You should post up some pics of your forces!

nice video, cheers! It was, i believe, exported to some Middle east countries though, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait and Oman, captured ones turning up in the armies of Iraq later. So lots of options for other conflicts i think. great vid

Most of the exports were modified versions - the Khalid etc. - but I take your point. There are some other operators.

Chieftain was manufactured for Jordan as the Khalid and it was basically a Mk. 5 with very minor differences. Iran ordered 125 as the Shir 1 in 1974 and that part of the order was delivered before 1979 because I remember pictures and film of Iranian Chieftains during the Iran-Iraq war so some were exported.

Yep. Some variants were exported, and the export orders did result finally in the Challenger series.

Yes I love all tanks in the Centurion production line, I hope they make a Chieftain T95 mold like in WoT

I’m not sure they’ll do a Chieftain T95. But I’ve been wrong before!

TY2 will make Infantry forces harder pressed but I still prefer either mech or air assault. Definitely Abbott's...and consider mortar tracks to throw timely smoke.
    Good hunting!

I haven't played Team Yankee yet but it looks like fun. I love the miniatures. The problem is I buy one of each box, so not enough for a playable force. I'll probably make a British force in the end.

I bought this box because I wanted to build the Chieftain. But I didn't want to start an entire new force. So I decided to paint them as MBT "Khalid" of the Royal Jordan Army using the camo scheme that one can see on the "Khalid" displayed at the Royal Jordan Tank Museum. In the game we will use the stats of the iranian Chieftains and depending on which political scenario we agree to play they will be used as israeli or syrian support.

The Chieftain is one of my favourite BF kits to build. It goes together great.

Chieftan *was* exported (sorry to be 'that guy') - Iran bought them and they were used in the Iran-Iraq War.

+Stephen Beat Hi Stephen, Rubbsalot also pointed out I got this wrong. I thought the export operators all used variants like Khalid. But it's great if people pick me up if I get stuff wrong. I try to put up the best info I have, but I miss stuff and sometimes just get stuff wrong. We all love this stuff, so I'm always happy to get smarter. You are not 'that guy'. You are helping this content be better. I appreciate the help!

Actually, I must apologise, I did not mean to leave what was supposed to be constructive correction *without* also thanking you for a very useful and interesting video.

+Stephen Beat No problem. I'm always thankful when people watch my videos and particularly when they take the time to comment.
