Commenting because this channel deserves more views and engagement. Really interesting content and thanks for sharing. Had no idea those wafers were available.
Yup, they are great decoration! I bought one to make a nice RUclips logo, and started cutting experiments on raw solar cells. They all cracked. I wonder how did the wafer survive shipping!
I got the same blue heating platform and it got a misplaced temperature sensor, it wraps around the screw post holding the heating element and displays incorrect temperature. When i put it in the correct position it works flawlessly. I also recommend to unscrew the holding clip
@@markp5726 Chinese proxy purchasing from Chinese market places like taobao or similar. Really nothing special, everyone can do that. AliExpress is just another marketplace (but full of people taking a profit ^^)
There are very strict requirements of thickness, etc. After 1 process run, the wafer is "ruined" in the context of trying to do a second one Maybe for testing purposes, it would be ok But nothing more

This is the translated channel, the Japanese channel has more subscribers and videos
@@RYU47376 Makes sense, thanks!
Love it, it's like one of those 1970's badly voice dubbed Kung Fu moves. hehe Great content. :)

Thank you for making an English speaking channel. The videos are always very well presented and interesting.
You are the Japanese version of GreatScott!. Excellent channel! Thank you!
I'm curious why regulations prevent the sale of these wafers in Japan.
I love Aliexpress videos on electronics!
Great display of wafers, will make great art !
You are more likely to get a quality product on AliExpress than Amazon.
if you check the sellers and reviews, you often do. also getting support was way easier on aliexpress
You can use the rosin pen as a crack pipe... a win-win. lol just kidding!
I thought rosin is hash?

Next episode: Bonding one of the chips out and testing it :) ... What regulations in Japan will keep wafers from being sold to the general public?
Maybe because of concerns of industrial espionage or something o.O?
lol, I've seen these rosin applicators. It's quite an ingenious repurposing of a device which was made to smoke drugs in an e-cig.
It would actually be pretty cool to have a silicon wafer as a display piece
Could one make a reflection telescope with the main mirror being one of those wafers?
VERY IMPRESSIVE
Very good channel, deserves more exposure!
Excellent.

What happened to your battery welder DIY video.
Thanks
is there a Japanese version of these videos? I would love to practice my Japanese to these contents!
Thank you for the video mate
The blue colour does NOT come from the colour of the film - it is caused by thin film interference.
As you may know, this is a back grinding tape.
Hella cool!!
Damn 37,50$ for some of these? I can get my hands on 20 of them costing around 5$ each 🙈
And I'm not even working in the semiconductor business :O
uh-huh. where?

For a layperson the price sounds reasonable. Thanks for the info

nah it was shown yen ¥ in the video
Gracias! 🖐️🇦🇷
Why not simply flip it around, polish and and do it again, if one side is faulty/wasted, not needed.... whatever?
