That head sculpt is fantastic. It might be the most realistic head sculpt I've ever seen in 1/6 scale. Hopefully, releases like this by InArt push Hot Toys to up their game.

Its been a long time since i read the books, but im pretty sure Gandalf is a wizard of fireworks and such!! Thats why his cart was full of them. Its perfect to include them. Thats what he is!
Amazing, can't wait to get mine. The chrome under the head is I think a sly nod to the incredible Kazu Tsuji, one of the best sculptor/makeup fx artists in Hollywood and previous right hand man to Rick Baker. Kazu won an oscar for Darkest Hour. He has a fine art series of larger than life busts, usually perched on chrome bases.
Absolutely amazing. I hope they do more figures and get more licenses to characters,, INart in knocking it out of the park everytime they release something. Really appreciate the reviews Justin. Awesome as usual
One thing that will always trip me out with these InArt reviews is when you move the eyes. It always catches me off guard how extra real it looks when they move. Great Review Justin! Hope InArt gets all the licenses they want.
This was an amazing review. I know your not a Lord of the Rings fan, but your enthusiasm for the figure came across hugely. InArt is absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to get my Gandalf and see what they have coming next.
I’m gonna be honest… I got into HT because I wanted the absolute closest life like representation of the character in figure form. IA is now that for me and have gotten me SO EXCITED about collecting again. Hopefully HT rooted Artisan editions will be great products and I’ll get the 1s from them that IA don’t have the license for. These are exciting times for collectors. Great review Justin
Fantastic review Justin I am loving the presentation that inart are doing for these figures in the box. Everything is next level so far. Can’t wait to see the inart figures in your collection.
Magnetic base is a nice way to keep the figure in pose and not showing a big crouch grabber nor a flixible waist grabber, yet I don't know how well it holds the figure even if the whole base is magnetic
THE closest likeness of a portrait I've ever seen on a 1/6th scale figure! It's wild to think that we've come a long way in terms of how life like we get these figures. Though it won't be for another year, I hope to hear your thoughts on the upcoming Anakin figures by Hot Toys, either the Attack of the Clones version or the new Artisan Edition one.
It sounded like Inart has outdone themselves with the Gandalf the Grey Figure. That Figure really does looked exactly like the Character from the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2002) movie. His Facesculpting, long Hair, and long Beard looked realistically Wonderful. And his Fabric Outfit & Hat looked Totally Cool as well. Not to mention it came with 8 set of Hands, Accessories included, and a very Awesome Base Stand. Very Entertaining and Informative as usual. Thanks Justin once again for sharing.
This figure is so tempting. The LOTR series is the only one I'd consider tempting of all of the Inart figures announced. He is so very very tempting, I wish I had the room.
Damnnn this looks incredible! Past reviews of this figure made it look pretty meh and kinda like a waste of money. But I absolutely can see the craftsmanship Inart put into the beard and hair for sure :) Super hype to see more of ur reviews Justin!
Did some research. And the designs not being on his pants/trousers is actually accurate. While the design that is on Asmus/Sideshow old figure do exists, it seem like it was left off filming and is only present on concept and display props. I have scorched everywhere for a picture of the pants, the clearest on is on Ian's website. It looked like the grey pants with weathering at the bottom. So maybe InArt did get it right lol
Thanks for the review and comparison. I am happy to stick with my Asmus. Inrt looks great, but I like what I have and the great display he came with. But upon doing some additional photo comparisons, I think Asmus Gandalf the White has the best likeness.
Sweet zombie Jesus!!! I was happy keeping my LOTR collection restricted to the 1/10 Iron Studios statues, but I might have to pull the trigger on this guy, especially if we get a Saruman to go along with him. I like the look of the Kaustic Plastik Christopher Lee Dracula thats coming, but if InArt did his face sculpt to the same level as this one, I’d have to pick him up.
Fantastic figure, great review! Thanks so much. A suggestion. Instead of permanently trimming the string on his robe, you could wrap some of the extra length by wrapping it around his neck and over his shoulders. The beard should hide that nicely.
First thank you for all your reviews! I look forward to them. You show every detail and accessories. And your honest opinion is what I like to hear. Sometimes your review gives me that final push to get or pass on a figure if I still have the opportunity to find it. As for this Inart Gandalf, oh I pre-ordered when it was announced! I can’t wait to get him!! I Love The Lord of the Ring Trilogy. I’m a bit concerned with Inart. I love that their figures so far are high quality and I don’t mind the wait but I think they are spending extra income on the box!! I want my figure protected but I don’t need the budget to go in a box that will be put in storage. Yes we need the head sculpt in that protective container but I don’t need velvety material inside tray lol.. that’s just me maybe. I rather have a second head sculpt, with real hair or sculpted hair. But if Inart does goes all in on The Lord of Ring I’m going to go bankrupt!!! I hope o can collect them all. I have main characters in Asmus already.
beautiful figure, I opened mine and it's perfect, but I have a problem with the two gripping hands because the magnets are wrongly placed and I can't use my hands. Is there any possibility, if I live in the UK, to get new ones and return the damaged ones? Apart from that, I am satisfied with the quality - it is truly unrivaled
See, now I simply have no choice; my heart has spoken… I am officially as _in love_ with this figure as I am with the character of *Gandalf* himself, played so perfectly by the always amazing Sir Ian McKellen 😍🥰❤️😍🥰❤️
Great review! I am looking forward to getting mine and Aragorn also. A question: Would the stance you used in the light box be okay for the magnetic base, or would it be too wide? Thanks!
Great video Justin cannot wait to get mine but I got second batch. Do you think Inart will be able to keep up the quality throughout the different batches?
I really can't wait for this to arrive. I wonder how long it will take Inart to complete the Fellowship? I mean, let's be honest, we preordered Gandalf and Aragorn, and there's bound to be a Legolas and Gimli, along with some hobbits! And how would we make our memes without Boromir?
Great review Justin, I just ordered a figure from Pop Collectibles with your discount code with a payment plan, do you know if they send the figures before it has been payed? That was my first figure so I'm not sure
Now that i am looking at this 1/6 Gandalf with rooted hair and beard, i will never again accept sculpted facial hair. That beard is absolutely perfect. i didn't think it possible.
Great review as always! I am really tempted to take Gandalf cause even if I am MARVEL fan I am never bored to watch LOTR, 50 times :) My question to you, what do you think how this can affect with prices of figures? As I can see this guy is like 500-600USD at this moment, I am not sure if these prices are realistic to these figures... Prices are just going higher and higher as I can see.

If Innart goes to this much detail on their figures I will gladly switch from Hot Toys or at least this should have Hot Toys feel a little pressure to up their game. There's no pleather to worry about with this figure which is great as far as longevity, this figure will double in value in an instant and I don't know why sideshow didn't release this. The Asthmus version is just a bad knock off.
Wonderful figure, so glad I preordered when it was first announced, even though I have the Asmus version. Hoping it won't be too many months until I receive him!
I really want a Gandalf figure. But for some reason old bearded men figures are \ expensive. You cant get a Gandalf or a Dumbledore in 1/6 for less then 350. Damn you beard Tax! That head sculpt is glorious. They really nailed that beard.
Inart makes Hot Toys look like a ten dollar figure company, the packaging, the quality of accessories, the quality of the functionality is pure craftsmanship at it's best.
A sincere question. Should we be concerned about the deterioration of some parts, such as fabric, leather, plastic, etc., in these inart figures? I worry about whether they will be in perfect condition as the years go by... Can anyone give an opinion?

@mohammedharib4880 Yeah, same here. I actually did read up on reviews for them before I ordered, and they still had a pretty decent rating in the fall of 2022.
