This is the first time in a year I think that I've caught up with Kate restoration..WOW excellent 🤞😎✝️🙏God bless.. I'm saving ££££ so perhaps in about a year I'll have a Capri myself probably in the shape of a Mark 3...1.6 to keep running costs to a minimum. Keep up the great work lads it's so inspiring to watch. The Capri is the only car for me I'm 50 and I've never lost my love for these cars ..loving the extra camera work/angles etc really makes a difference

Nice to see Kate back on the road it’s perfectly normal for the diff to sound awful due to the way the clutches work but will give you a large smile when you step on the loud peddle £100 pound for a gallon of 2k paint I am sure between you and your friends you have the ability to paint her
Thanks Alan. Well the diff is still attached, in one piece and it works, so I think its good. Very noisy, especially when no load, and squeaks, grinds and cracles when turning, which was alarming when I first started driving her. But when I hit the loud pedal.. all is well 👌😁😁

It's been a few weeks since I've commented. Plumbing and electrical issues on the house have taken up my time. You've done yourselves proud with Kate.
I remember when you first unloaded Kate and started on her ( Your RUclips was still Classic carbs) and it's been quite the journey to this point. Kate is 100 percent better than she started (locked up engine, body putty in the fenders, and to much more to list ) Great job. 👍👍👍

@@Classiccarbscouk Yes repairs almost done, Was a personal choice since the house is 47 years old. I decided that newer plumbing and wiring would be safer and more trouble free.

In 1982 I had a 1969 1600 GT. She had the ohv engine with the single weber card and tubular exhaust. She was in Roman Bronze with tan vinal interior. Previous owners had put tan fur on the door cards and rear side panels. Four seats, with 2 well defined seats in the drear. Seen others with a bench rear seat. Great car was fast for it's day. Pity some guy pulled out of a side road
Had a 73 mk1 3.0 liter GXL V6 capri , you brought back some brilliant memories, cheers

Please don't go El Cheapo on the paint job. Ok, doing the preparation yourself is a good plan to keep costs flat.
2k primer + 2k unilack I think that was on it.
Whether you want a clear coat is ultimately your decision. I think it quickly looks like it was pulled out of an oil bucket.
Oh and don't forget the cavity protection at the end.
Is there any way to support the paint build-up? I'm pretty sure the community would be happy to pitch in with a bit of spare money or a few buckets of wall paint.
