    Haha :) Once I made the same kind of mistake with hot glue in the USB conector.
    Charging board you used has no battery protection circuit. I will not prevent under charging or overloading for example. The other one you have got has this feature, hence extra chip and connectors on the USB type C one. Plus and Minus connectors beside USB socket can be used instead of USB, so you didn't really need to dremel out that hole. You could just drill a little hole to see your favourite blue LED. It was fun to watch, thanks :)

      @@MyPlayHouse I think Scott meant that you would wire the DC in jack to the Input +/- of the module (that's what those solder pads you didn't understand were for). The TP4056 linear charging IC used on those modules can tolerate up to 8V input, so wiring to the DC jack with the module likely would have let you use the original charger for the power tool, as it would have cut-off current at 4.2v for you regardless of DC input used (up to ~8V)

      @nickldominator 5 лет назад +2

      Unfortunately, that isn't what they are for.
      What you are talking about is the USB-PD spec, which those extra ICs do NOT do. The extra chips are a DW01 chip for over-discharge, over-charge, and over-current protection of the Lithium battery. The other extra chip is the FET controlled by the DW01 to switch on/off the load in the event of a fault condition mentioned above.

    Even though there is no metallic lithium inside, water would cause lithium to catch fire.

    If those batteries under the Stairs would catch fire (many reasons, even if they are discharged ) ohh Lord...

      What a stupid comment! I am a million times more likely, to get internal brain bleeding, from slamming my head down my table, from this, brain dead comment. Then those 18650 to just catching on fire.
