So after sitting on my butt for forever I decided to finally get out of the house and head to a siren. I chose to go back to Duncan for this Banshee since the last time I came here in August, they cancelled the test last minute since it started raining. I was expecting them to do attack along with alert since that’s part of their testing cycle but they didn’t today, I’m glad that I got a test though so I’m still happy.
I’ve been wanting to record this Banshee ever since I found out of its existence half a year ago. As Duncan had a whole revamped system upgrade, I didn’t expect BME Electronics to leave that Banshee there, but I am very glad that they did. I would’ve brought my drone today but the weather forecast lied and said it would really windy, so I didn’t want to risk wrecking it into the entire electric substation or any of the 1,500 power lines next to the Banshee. People I know have told me Banshee’s are quite loud, well they were NOT kidding. It rumbled the ground and my ears were ringing for a good 30 minutes after the test. After this, I went a got pictures of a ‘130 and the new Modulator. (Pictures on my Instagram) As the first test of mine in 2023, I think I started the year off with an absolute banger.
Duncan owns 26 outdoor warning sirens, 24 of them being 2001-130’s, 1 being a brand new Modulator 2008B, and the remaining siren being the Banshee I recorded. Duncan’s system used to contain of a bunch of 2T22’s, Banshee’s, and T-112’s. The siren map (link at bottom of description) will tell you all information you need to know!
The City of Duncan tests their outdoor warning sirens each Monday @ noon, weather permitting. The system is fully automated and tones out the sirens at the lake at 11:59 since they’re further out, then once noon comes around, MSK tones for the city itself are sent out. Duncan usually tests in attack and alert, as attack is their tornado warning signal and alert is their all clear signal, but today they only did alert.

This city a while back used to have probably the best siren system. Like with the 2T22s, SD-10s, and Banshees. Now add Thunderbolts to that. That would equate to the best siren system and best ambiance.
Duncan never had any SD-10s. They did have some T-112s though, along with the 2T22’s and Banshees. There’s also a Model 7 out at Lake Humphreys that was part of their old system. Was still a legendary system nonetheless.
@@brodiessirenproductions Well I be damned. Someone told me they had SD-10s but they were wrong. It was a fire system. Now, it's a bunch of '130s. Why the hell do 2001 130s need to take over the good sirens????
Yeah, I don’t know where they got that info from. Duncan’s sirens used to do fire signal back in the early 2010’s but since stopped that when they got a systemwide upgrade (with the 2001’s). The city just wanted newer and more technologically advanced sirens I guess. The system is super over covered now, and they’re still planning on adding some additional Modulators around the city at parks and other popular outdoor areas.
@@brodiessirenproductions Yeah Duncan is stupidly overcovered now. I don't think it's as bad as Woodward but yeah. Hopefully we'll be able meet up sometime this summer. I'm usually not too crazy busy but idk about you so I'm gonna shut up about that for a while.
@GabrielCL2T22A In the summertime, I’m typically not as busy, but I’ll be up in Illinois and Wisconsin in early June so I won’t be able to meet up then.
nice there is 1 a hour and a half away from me
Nice! Is it Hillsdale?
@@brodiessirenproductions no moudrige ks but that one too
@@sirensofkansas9155 Ah, I didn’t know Moundridge was that close to you. Cool tho
@@brodiessirenproductions yeah you what town i live in
You live in Arkansas City. Sirens Of The Midwest & Southwest is a really close friend of mine in case you didn’t know.
The hell is that sound at 3:58
It’s POCSAG used for water telemetry
@@brodiessirenproductions sounds like earrape to me for how loud it was, how close was your scanner to the camera
@@northdakotasirens1520 Not close at all. It was on the ground. Also, it’s not “earrape”. That’s the literal static sound coming over the scanner.
Its actually POCSAG used for water telemetry.
Ah ok
