After watching you unbox and play it, I love the tone and the total quality workmanship that Fender put into this guitar. I think I'm actually going to go out and buy one now!
Hi Rachelf , the FM plus suits you very well it matches your bubbly and warm personality and is very versatile for playing like you. Looks like fender finally got it right after all these years, great N/LS pickups and locking tuners. "Have a lot of fun playing ". Very best wishes. John.

It's just dawned on me...after 38 years of playing (I'm 50), I have never played a Fender or Gibson guitar ever. Here are my currently owned in order of favorite 1st: 1) Westone Spectrum Sx (1980s era monster made in Japan...absolutely excellent quality) 2) Ibanez Prestige 3) Schecter Damien Elite 4) Jackson Slattxmg3-7 5) PRS Custom 24 6) Ibanez Rg series 7) Washburn XL6 (Lyon)
It's awesome that guitar companies are reading out to you now for this kind of stuff. Congratulations. I bought my first electric guitar about 6 weeks ago, and you were one of the big inspirations for me to get it and get into it. I've bought an used Ibanez EDR470ex and I love it.
You and I started playing guitar around the same time but I am 20ish years older than you. You have made incredible progress and I have enjoyed watching you grow as a player. Keep up the great work

As a bass player this is the only guitar Chanel I watch Rachels smile is contagious I find myself learning and smiling. Rachel question did you pick up Plush album?
Bridge pickup, Dwight Yoakam "Fast As You." You can also try position 2, and of course all five as well. Easy intro that rocks for a country song. It starts on the 6th string played Open-Open-3-4 then to the 5th string 5-2-4-2 (numbers are the fret and open means open string).
nice guitar! I feel one of the best parts of being a RUclips guitarist is being able to try out and demo new guitars. Would love to hear u play some Hendrix on that beauty. Keep on rocking!
It's definitely grateful for the chance to try out new gear! I've previously never tried learning Hendrix before but it seems fitting for this guitar :)
@@RachelfGuitar Agree. A lot of fun to learn, play, and be inspired by. But I believe Hendirx people are very tight with their IP. Couldn't post videos of what you may spend so much time on.
I am excited too this morning! i just bought a 1980's Fender MIM Strat for $200! The 'Player' series is what they call MIM nowadays. Actually swapped it for a PRS-se Tremonti but that's what I paid for the PRS!
Hey Rachelf! I went to a few different guitar shops and could still not find an instrument that spoke to me. I finally found one today. I’ve been wanting an Ibanez since I was really really little, and I got an SEW761 S series. Im also picking up my first amp! Boss Katana mk2 50 watt You’ve not only inspired me with every video you upload, but also are great player. Thank you.
Gorgeous Strat and amazing playing as usual. 🤘🏾🔥🎸 I love strats and you made this one sound fabulous. I have a G&L Tribute strat that I absolutely love. I'm thinking I may end up grabbing one of these new Fenders. Can never have enough guitars. Hahahaha
Nothing cooler than seeing someone unbox their new guitar and play it for the first time. Also nice finish on the strat. What do you think of the HSS setup?
OMG. That looks amazing! I watched your vids before starting playing electric guitar. I got the Yamaha Pacifica in the end, but I am totally looking to get a fender - like this, in like 1-2 years.
Honestlsy, it also seems like these models are a bit delayed in my country (South Africa). I would really appreciate if you could voice to the manufacturer that it would be beneficial to supply to South Africa. People are willing to buy.
Awesome Guitar! I have a left handed kids black and white Strat as a beginner that I'm learning from It's been really fun and can't seem to put it down!
Hi Rachelf, the 🎸 guitar totally suits you with your warm and bubbly personality. Hope it will give you inspiration and direction for your musical adventures. Yes Fender finally nearly got it right this time, the N/LS pickups and the locking tuners but still struggling with the ergonomic neck joint design. Maybe next time Rachelf, as Meat Loaf used to say "Two out of Three ain't bad". Very best wishes. John.
Coming from Ibanez, I imagine the best part about this neck (compared to a traditional Fender Strat) is the flatter fingerboard. I think it's a 12" radius. A standard modern strat would be 9.5", and a traditional strat is 7.5". Did you feel comfortable with the flatter 12" fingerboard? I think that was a good move to pair with the noiseless pickups. I feel the high-gain folk also like the flatter fingerboards.
Yeah the fretboard felt very similar to what I'm used to! Definitely comfortable for me. The thicker neck I think will take a bit more time to get used to, but it also seems comfortable so far!
@@RachelfGuitar my first guitar was a Squier Strat. Really thin neck (9.5" fretboard). I bought a pro 2 from Fender earlier this year with the thicker neck. It took some getting used to but I now really appreciate it. I feel I have better form now.
I've always been a fan of Fender, although I don't own one myself. I own more Dean guitars than anything else, but always have had my eye on a Fender. After listening to your review of this particular one, it makes me more interested, especially in this one your playing. Just recently found your channel, and I think that your stuff is great. Your a very talented young lady, keep it up.
Some comments from a Player Strat owner, (who also loves humbucker guitars). Play with the tone knobs a bit. Try dialling off some tone when playing higher gain. (Got that from a Darrell Braun video). You can get a bit of a creamier, somewhat more humbucker-ish tone that way. Dialling off a bit can help on cleaner tones, too, if you want to damp down the bright in certain situations. I didn't play with those tone knobs on all my guitars for my first few years, but I'm starting to, now that I know the full out tones better. I'm finding it useful. Bridge pickups on Strats are known for taking distortion well, whether noiseless like yours, or traditional with all the hum (so move away from the amp, or use a noise gate). Very good crunch sound. I do dial off tone a bit to get a touch creamier, play with my EQ on my amp, and usually play at a higher volume setting than with my humbucker equipped Epiphone Les Paul or PRS SE Custom. Those humbucker pickups are more powerful, and are louder and deeper at a given volume setting. But you can get a lot closer to that simply by dialling up the volume on your amp about 1/3 of a number or so. Maybe half a number. I don't quite get deep humbucker roar, but I get one h@lluva big bark! And I find the slightly shriller resulting sound can add a bit more anger to the emotional tone. I find that useful. Dunno if it will come across the same to you, (only you can tell), but it might be worth trying out. I find the neck pickup works very well for traditional bluesy edge-of-breakup gritty tone. I believe that is where that tone is traditionally played. Middle pickup can do something similar, but with less bass and depth of colour underneath it. More straight ahead rhythm rock. The 4 and 2 positions are used for characteristic Strat "quack", and for a less bright, less resonant, but very characteristic sound. dIon't have the vocabulary to describe it, (it is often referred to as out of phase), but a famous example is Mark Knopfler'stone, best heard on Sultans of Swing. I believe he plays in position 4 (Neck and middle), the most. That push-pull sounds interesting. My basic Player doesn't have it. I think both of those settings are likely to be a lot closer to what an HH configured guitar sounds like played in the in-between position with both pickups. Could be useful for you. I strongly suggest getting Fender Trem arm springs for putting into the trem socket underneath the trem arm. If you do that, the trem arm will hold in one place when you want it to. You can place it exactly where you want it, either totally out of the way, or easily within reach. My strat arem used to drive me crazy, because it would always swing around or hang straight down in the way of the tone knobs. Now it doesn't. I find the c shape neck pretty good. Yes it's thicker, but that c shape fits beautifully into the palm of your hand while playing with thumb up, rather than on the back of the neck. And the sides aren't as straight up-and-down as with D shaped necks, so I find I can get my thumb around it easier for thumb muting or fretting.
Get a more humbuckerish tone? These are noiseless "single coils". This means they are actually stacked humbuckers. They do not sound like true strat single coils. Because they are not. To my ears they sound more like a Fat Strat humbucker than a single coil. And Darrel Brown has a video about that too.
@@UmVtCg Interesting that you think that about the tone. That's not what I get. Sounds pretty close to a Strat single coil to me. Certainly not the same. But similar, despite the stacked humbucker structure. Guess it's a matter of personal perception and preference. As for tone sculpting, I was speaking of my experience with the true single coils in my regular Player. I have a similar situation to these noiseless pickups with my PRS SE. The tone knop has a pull setting that sounds pretty single coil-like, but without loss in volume, and an extra touch to the tone. Slightly fuller, a bit more "presence". Still single coil clarity, but with something more. Sorry. I don't really have the vocabulary to explain it. It's not a true coil split. it makes use of both magnets somehow. The sales clerk had incomplete info, and I haven't got around to looking it up yet. Anyway, the tone modification works the same when rolling off the tone. You mute the highs a touch, getting a somewhat more compressed, somewhat creamier tone that is generally perceived as more characteristic of typical PAF style humbuckers. Now, with that guitar, I generally don't bother doing it. Why would I? If I want a humbucker-like tone, I just don't use the pull option. I just play on the humbuckers as is. :) Not quite Gibson style PAF's, but if I want that, I have a LEs Paul. And with a bit of EQ tweaking, I can gt very close with a guitar that doesn't break my shoulder. But I find the tone roll-off it useful at times on my Player Strat, especially when playing on the bridge pickup with some gain. I like the tone. I suspect it might also be interesting on a Noiseless Strat. On top of those pickups, it might work better to make a more PAFish HB tone, or more likely Ibanez or PRS ish HB tone, if one desires, than with straight Strat single coils. Might be fun to experiment with.
New axe - always a happy day! Cool color, too. I've heard the new Player Plus guitars are nice, not too expensive (I'm cheap), and locking tuners almost sell it for me. Being kind of a purist (read: snob) about single coils, those don't sound quite as muffled as a lot of 'noiseless' single-coils I've heard. I'd still swap 'em out for a set of Rio Grande's, though.
Hi Rachel , i just noticed you interviewed Nita Strauss haha . I was watching an interview called Google talk and i recognized your voice lol . Thats awesome ! Speaking about new guitars i´m gonna save up for the Ibanez Jiva 10 , gonna take some time but i´m looking forward to it . Metal on \m/
When I was learning guitar I wanted a Strat, since my favorite guitarist, Stevie Ray Vaughan, used a Strat. Nowadays, I actually prefer the Telecaster. And I see Fender makes a Nashville Tele with a butterscotch finish! Those green basses look sweet too. Do you listen to any Eric Johnson? I think he currently has my favorite Strat sound. Some of his licks aren't as hard to play as they sound.
I want to learn guitar and most people say it's easier to learn with electric guitar, but there are many kinds of electric guitar and I'm not sure which electric guitar is best for me.
@@cheekymonkeygirl3378 The only way to know for sure is to play a few. Do you have a music store near you to try a couple? If not, who are some players you like? Most electric guitars are variations on about five basic styles. You should be able to find a guitar you like.

U re the best!! Grettings from Argentina!
Sweet! Mine is comming in a month 🥰

Nice guitar Rachel! Nice demo

Red or yellow... That's the question XD Congratulations for your new guitar. I have an American Deluxe Stratocaster and is an amazing guitar.

Buying a fender strat first time at guitar center to me felt like a kid in a candy store
Fender gave you a guitar? WOW! I love fender.
Great playing and nice guitar!
Nice review, thanks.
My favorite is the neck pickup. I looked at the other finishes and I like this one the best. Great choice. 👏👏👏✨
Yeah the neck pickup sounds great! Thanks, I thought I'd go for something different than my usual finish wise 😁🎸
@@RachelfGuitar Do you get to keep it?
@@RandellVandergriff Yes, she does!🎉🎉🎉
I enjoyed your review of this guitar. I have been debating on what guitar to buy next, and this one already was of interest to me. Fender Stratocaster's are my main guitar's I use, but I'm sure you have noticed the American model's keep getting more expensive..Thank you for an entertaining and honest review. I look forward to your next video's.
The blue fade is really nice out of all of the limited colors they have
Love that finish. Great tone. Too bad about the ding on the back. Great playing as usual.
