You inspire me so much to become a teacher because it seems like the best job ever!! On another video could you explain how your schedule works with block 1 and block 2 at your school because it seems very different from the schools i’ve gone to
Oh my goodness....the Thanksgiving Dinner activity....I totally thought that I had created it...or a version of it! Lol. That was about 13 years ago. And you are right to say that they were engaged, challenged and loved completing it. I also did a party activity that they loved. Engagement is the name of the game. I have been retired since 2013, and after watching you, I wish I could go back.....too bad I can’t. Haha. I tried to have activities like this and your turkey feather hunt each month. You do a great job. Stay strong....and please, don’t burn out!
Just binge watched a ton of your vlogs as a 2nd grade teacher because that's what grade I am teaching. It is SO wonderful to see how much happier you are now! You are such an amazing teacher and human being and deserve all of the happiness in the world!!!
My teacher did a similar thing, she hid turkeys around the school with a number on it. We were given a sheet to list where the turkeys were. Once we were done, we got something
Ever since my 3rd birthday I’ve wished to be a teacher and I used to think it was a childish but you’ve made me want it more and more you’re amazing keep being an inspiration Xxx 💖
Confession: since subscribing to your channel, I sometimes walk into my classroom the same way as you, and I sometimes pretend there’s a camera on me. 😂😂😂 I love the little touches you add to your videos!! That scavenger hunt looks like fun, I saw there’s a Christmas one in their TpT store that I’d like to try. Thanks for a great video, you’re so inspirational!
I'm taking down my classroom right now (last day of school is tomorrow and PD on Friday here in Northern VA) and catching up on the 6 months+ worth of videos I missed. Thanks for providing some motivation to keep going haha
Love the turkey activity I’m going to use this concept for maths because we don’t have thanks giving but I like the whole scavenger hunt. Smiles from down under.
Great Video!!! I cant believe people can just go in your room and take a table without permission - hope you find another one! I hope you had a great break and cant wait to see another video next week
I love your Turkey scavenger hunt! It is great and I will definitely try to use it with my students next year. Thanks a lot for your great ideas! Hugs & kisses from Mexico City!
When I was in elementary and I did the hide the Turkey I made my Turkey taylor swift and I put a speech bubble saying "I will never ever ever be on the table"
Hello Michelle! I hope you and yours had a blessed Thanksgiving! I love your Turkey Scavenger Hunt Activity (Thank you for the link to it!), as well as the "Thanksgiving Dinner Budget" Math Activity. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful at locating it on your TpT Store site. Would you mind passing along a link for it, please?
Do you have any suggestions for helping a student relating the math, to actually using it? She is technically 4th grade but doing pre algebra as far as book work but when she needs to really sue that math in real life she’s lost. It’s driving me nuts and baffling me because she will blow through equations in no time, get them all right but cant answer the why or relate it to real life application. We did this same activity together but probably a different TpT store but the head librarian at the local library got in on it and they did it together. She decorated her turkey as Albert Einstein because she “loves his floofy hair” 😂
Two questions: did you use Astrobrights paper for the turkey feathers? Can you edit all the print on the turkey scavenger hunt? I teach SS & ELA and would love to try it with my students. Thanks for answering.
I used assorted cardstock colors that I happened to have on hand... most of the cardstock came from Michaels! Also, you can edit all of the text for the turkey scavenger hunt! You could easily edit it to use it for social studies and ELA. Thanks!
You don't teach about Turkey pardons? The turkey on your head is really stuffed--good thing it's full of brains. 😂 Awesome ideas, as usual Love the hunt and clues.
Hello, I just discovered your channel as I was looking for thanksgiving activities. I am teaching in Brazil in an American school. You have some great ideas. Thanx for sharing . P.S. What grade do you teach?
Do you only teach math or all subjects? Also do you have just one class or a mixture of students? I’m just confused about your blocks since we had blocks in middle school.
I teach math and science. I teach math to two different groups of students and I teach science to 4 different groups of students (the entire fourth grade).
Pocketful of Primary thanks for replying I was just confused because in your videos you never talked about language arts or literacy. Now I understand! ❤️
I'm so happy you asked... I was thinking of making a video of my favorite teacher purchases that are worth the money and my lanyard will DEFINITELY be in it! It has held up AMAZING and still looks brand new! I am rough on my lanyards (hence the other one breaking) so I was hesitant about my Brighton one holding up but it has exceeded my expectations! I wish I had purchased one sooner!
Raquel Perez Granados Nope, they were still supervised. I was standing by my door and could see them walking through the hall and my TA was stationed in the hallway as well.
+Pocketful of Primary Michelle , I hope that this gives you a bit of a boost because talking from My Days when I was an autistic student in school I come from a time when and where elementary school was not like this and I was afraid to be in school and it took some students allowing me to let a little out to bring myself around but going back to your quote " suck it up and get it done " If it was not a field trip day or a Christmas Party day or the last day of school or even so much as a teacher feels like having a party day or feels like giving us a free day or even a lucky day I had to plain and simply suck it up without even a reason why I was being made to do what I was not inspired to do at times . Your Students want to be in school that much then that tells you that what you are doing is doing something for them and is worth it to them . Keep right on doing it and by the way , I really like Your Thanksgiving outfit . I really hope that through everything that you have gone through that you have had a good Thanksgiving and that you will see many more Thanksgivings in the future and they will be even better than this one . - Dwight

I enjoy watching your videos. I enjoy them because they have good ideas for teaching and how to keep the students engaged in what we are teaching.

6:31 I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be Baldi from Baldi's Basic lol
Kailyn's Random Videos Yes, my students told me that later. Still no clue who/what that is though!
@@PocketfulofPrimary Baldi's Basic is basically just one of those horror games that a lot of people like to play. :)
Love the baldi turkey!!
Great video! You are awesome! I subscribed. Looks like a awesome active with the turkeys.
The teacher turkey is from a video game called Bald's Basics And Education And Learning
You look gorgeous!!!!
Thank you so much!
We get all week off for thanksgiving but love ur videos
Cupcake Gamer I believe Michelle got a week for fall break, so that’s why she gets three days for Thanksgiving.

I’m pretty sure the turkey in the green shirt holding the ruler is supposed to be the video game character, Baldi, from the game Baldi’s Basics!
6:36 thats Baldi from Baldi’s Basics
Can you do a video about the things you should know before becoming a teacher?
If you see this you are such a.good teacher my teacher never dose this even when i am in 4th grade
Such fun ideas. In my experience, everything that involves shopping, even if they're just pretending, is a hit with kids.
Early yay 😀 I love your videos and they have inspired me to be a teacher when I grow up ❤️❤️
can you do a video on creating a template
you should do a vlog of day in the life of a non school day
Omg i love thankd giving ❤
6:32 That turkey is supposed to be Baldi from Baldi's Basics. He is still a teacher though. XD
Baylee Martin Yes, my students told me that later. I still have no idea who that is though!

My Thanksgiving break was A week long
It would be cool if u instead of calling the groups blocks maybe ask the kids what they want their block to be called like names.
I think the school calls them blocks.
I as a teacher we have Monday to Wednesday and Thursday and Friday no school.

Did you have to ask for permission since students are walking around the school?
Raquel Perez Granados Nope, they were still supervised. I was standing by my door and could see them walking through the hall and my TA was stationed in the hallway as well.
my teacher made us do this with a partner. But it was a little diffrent because we had unlemited money

Did you allow them to go on the scavenger hunt by themselves around the school with out someone watching them?
