0:02 when Rosa’s theme from Bayo2 started I screamed. I freakin LOVED this theme when it played in the second game, when we see Rosa fighting angels during the Witch Hunt
The only Rosa that manage to escape from her death destiny but still end up dying because of another crazy God For F sake why did they have to make her family full on despair and sadness🙃
Something I find super neat here is that her summoning the umbran armor is a direct reference to how she plays in Bayo 2 as her umbran climax has the umbran armor. In bayo 3 umbran climax is replaced by demon slave. Her respective demon slave;Umbran Clock Tower. Is also how you get the umbran armor in this game. So I found that neat.
pain is realizing french rosa wears her balder's monocle likely in memory of him because he died first subsequently mirroring balder from bayonetta 1&2 holding onto and dying to his rosa's lipstick .. like i know we play these games for funsies and the astronomical levels of camp but god DAMN the story hurts sometimes when you think abt it 😭
I'm surprised this game techincally has less character to play as, I was really hoping Balder/Rodin would be optional unlockable characters once more, especially when I never understood their combos in B2 cause there's no list for them
@@lowhp_comic you can look them up but they honestly aren’t even that good it sucks they never got fleshed out gameplay. And why do they go with viola when we still have them to explore. No multiplayer is so lame to there is nothing to do once u beat this game
I'm surprised people are getting very upset over the death of a parallel Rosa that's not from the same universe, especially when she can kill her alternate Mummy but not an alternate Jeanne
Poor Cereza, having to see her mother die before her eyes 3 times... 1. In the past before Jeanne sealed her away 2. Watch her die in Balder's arms in Bayo 2 3. Having to kill her herself...
Fun Fact: Apparently, they wanted Bayo to face Madama Khepri in a 1v1 Madama fight where Khepri would then take Rosa towards the end, but the Director (not Kamiya) had other ideas. Hopefully the Madama fight will come back in the future
Honestly, knowing how Kamiya gave the fans an indirect fuck you for not liking the ending, I doubt we’ll ever see a Cereza in action again. I do hope I’ll be wrong in the future, but knowing what we got… my hopes are brittle
Best fight in the game. It was a blast from start to finish with the clock tower and the emotions. I still enjoyed fighting dark Adam more (every version of that fight was killer) but this fight was energetic and always shifting in fun ways
As someone else pointed out, she's wearing his monocle as you can see in 0:34 so this variant of balder probably passed away during that world's witch hunts
I really wish this game nailed the details. All of the attention to detail is what made these games great. This one feels unfinished in so many ways, and the story and worldbuilding suffers because of it. Rosa's inclusion in one of the multiverses is a good idea in theory, but the execution is just so poor. I think something that bothers me most is that her design is just a re-colour of the same outfit she was wearing during the witch hunts, 500 years ago. Why would she still be wearing this same outfit with the chains? She's not the imprisoned witch anymore, the Umbra are all dead. This game used to have so much rich detail in the character designs. Bayonetta and Jeanne had 'historically accurate' (within the game's universe) clothing during the witch hunts, and their style changes in the future and throughout the series. As if Rosa wouldn't also have switched up her style, it's lazy and makes me believe they just ran out of time or slapped her in there last minute and re-coloured her existing model. Also, we don't even get to see much of the implication of Rosa never dying. How does it impact Bayonetta's character? She becomes French?? It could've been so interesting to explore. And that's another thing that bothers me about these multiverse Bayonettas. You can do so much cool shit with multiverse theories, ask "what if?" questions, explore the butterfly effect on how small changes in a person's life can set them on a different path. But no, they decided to just go with "Bayonetta but she's in China/Egypt/Japan/France instead of America." What if we met a Bayonetta that can summon the cardinal angels, rather than demons, because of her half-lumen heritage? Or a universe where the Umbra weren't all killed off, but Bayonetta replaces a deceased Jeanne as the leader of the Umbra? A universe where Bayonetta couldn't save Jeanne from inferno in the events of Bayo 2? SO MANY MORE INTERESTING POSSIBILITIES that would've enriched the characters, lore and also not felt like jumping the shark in terms of character design and art direction. Bayo 3 is just a clusterfuck of a mixed bag of visual and narrative identity. With all this said the actual gameplay and combat is the best it's ever been in the series. Just as a big fan of Bayonetta though, the story itself was disappointing, especially for the third game that should round off a strong trilogy.
@@Lottienn I wish I could super thumbs up because I aggressively agree. However I would like to add that they shouldn't have gone with a multiverse but rather making it about timelines. Considering in bayo1 she creates brave ceraza and in bayo2 she straight up removes baldur from his time. How does any of these things not have any effect overall? Would have been great to see how her changes of time effect the world or as you said, we see different outcomes concerning her heritage or maybe brave ceraza actually saves her mother.
@@Lottienn I’m sorry but I’m not reading allat but honestly I think the full opposite with yoru point that the design doesn’t have attention to detail. I love how the “recoler” felt to be the work of her daughter- her daughter’s character in this universe and the whole aesthetic she would have had built over years of life- we see how Rosa’s relationship with her affected the very clothing she wears. And how it’s the same outfit- throughout all the games it’s been built in Rosa’s character that even tho she was locked up by her own people, her loyalty to the Umbra is stays strong, even after she betrayed them by getting with Balder. I translated her outfit with even after all those years, she well chose to “bear her chains.” Even in Bayo two in her summary it’s said how she chooses to wear her chains as remembrance for what she had to atone for, even if they are said to be very, very heavy. It’s a detail that just makes sense imo. Even her main summon in the game being the godforsaken umbra clock tower- think abt that for a minute! The clock tower that holds the soul of the UMBRAN ELDER who most likely had play in locking her away, and countless other witches, being wielded by the ROSA of all people?! Doesn’t that sound like such an intricate fucking crazy detail??? I just really don’t get what you mean with Papillon being a character without depth- she’s so personified even while we don’t get to see much of her. A character we get more direct personality is French bayonetta- even with Rosa simply having a strong relationship with her we get so much sweet insight on her character. I think go back and read the characterful descriptions and see all these cutscenes with Papillon with this in mind and I feel you would have a WAYYY better impression on her. Now that I wrote this all out imma read the rest of your idea.
at 2:47 and pause it, do you see anything similar? for me yes the posing of rosa there when she summons UCT, The posing has a same similarities on Let's Dance Boys. On Bayonetta 1 (when you finished the game)
In the info, it says that after the witch hunt, the witches who died inside had their souls merged with the clock tower itself, causing the tower to become an infernal demon.
Unpopular, unprompted opinion, but... ... Viola should've fought this fight. It would've fitted the narrative in terms of her facing the Matriarch of her Creation
When Rosa summoned the Umbran Clock Tower I literally shouted “THE SYMBOL OF THE UMBRAN WAY!”
SAME LOLOLOL
Omg this is perfect
You're a real fan! ❤️👍💪
LMAO
Personally, I lost it when thanks to the Umbran Clock, U could use the Umbran Mecha from Bayonetta 2.
i must say, i love how this rosa kept a part of balder, in the form of his monocle, which parallels balders keeping of her bullet lipstick.
You're totally right! I've never noticed this detail implying that instead of Rosa dying, Balder did
Omg same I never noticed that but the detail is real
I never noticed that insane detail. Holy.
2:47 the snap, that SNAP was everything.
THANK YOU 👏 ROSA IS A QUEEN 👑

For real girl, Rosa gotta have the Anime mom hairstyle of death under them clothes
I mean I do think she ain’t technically dead with the end of the game right
When you realize the way Bayonetta holds Rosa is the same way balder held her when he discovered her almost dead,,,, no I’m not crying
The fact that rosa has balder's monocle breaks My heart

A shame we don't get more PvP-esque fights, as bonus modes if nothing else. Just imagine a boss for each weapon and Viola.

Bet she developed the guts to do so after her Egyptian counterpart did the mercy kill to her Jeanne.

Rosa just feels like a novelty in this game for the sake of just having her in it. Almost felt like a joke when the umbra tower appeared.
Tbh this game is about alternative universe so it make sense to have a world where she survived.
