A few movies you might enjoy:
- K-Pax
- Wag the Dog
- Transcendence
- Edge of Tomorrow
- Little Shop of Horrors
- Death Becomes Her
Have you seen LA Confidential yet?
I’d say you had the best and only valid reaction to this movie- you marveled at the writing of it.
@@theGoogol Based on the first two movies you suggested, I now want to see Transcendence.
@@Ceractucus : tbh : The first two are classics, the next two are (imo) good sci-fi's that not enough people watched and the last two are a bit morbid / humor.
I will never get tired of watching peoples faces at the end of this movie. Genuine astonishment every time.❤

If there's one film I would wanna watch for the first time again, this would be a big contestant
@@beeby9689 For me it would be this movie & Se7en and Heat.
This movie and “The Sixth Sense “
@@tomking7080 Sixth Sense was good but that reveal wasn't on the same level as this one.
Might be the best ending to a movie ever. Those final lines are so iconic.
This timeless masterpiece had a budget of only $5.5 million, and was shot in just 35 days. Let that sink in.
in-sane, almost an indie film.
And deserving of its OScar for Best Original Screenplay.
Holy Shit!
The most underrated element in this movie was the score. It was the engine that drove the whole thing.
The theme is iconic. And the string hits at the end are perfect.
@@giantidiot31 The sound at the end is perfection. Gave me chills
rabooey, well said!🎼👌...I love the score too.
Interestingly, the guy who wrote the score, also edited the film :)
Singer's finest film. Immaculate script and pacing, building of tension with the slow zoom-ins, great ensemble cast.. one of the films I'd love to watch again for the first time.
Proud to say I saw this at the cinema back in ‘95 at the age of 16. Needless to say It absolutely blew my mind! One of my most memorable film going experiences.
@@davidw5532 I saw it 4 times, fresh out of film school.
The script was Christopher McQuarrie, but yes Singer directed perfectly.
@@bobvylan7215 and what John Ottman did with the editing and score was the perfect marriage. All the components don’t normally come together for a good script to come to life like this.
The writing/ screenplay for this movie was pure excellence. This came out in 1995. And we had other great films that year as well...
Se7en
Heat
Brave Heart
Casino
1995 was the year for greatness.
What I love about the film since I first saw it in 95 is that you're NEVER 100% sure about anything in the end. All we really know is that people are dead, the cops failed, and the bad guy escapes. And 27 years later, it's still the best mindfuck yet.
Intelligent movies. A rare commodity in Hollywood these days.
The twist ending...holy crap!! I bet no one in the theater saw it coming! In fact you have to rewatch the movie and try to look for the clues on really happened at the beginning.
Some of the actors didn't even see it coming! They shot scenes with all the actors as if they were Soze and then cut the film to fit their vision. One of the actors was so mad he wasn't Soze that he walked out of the premier
@@Chilipotamus so they all filmed the ending scene??? Sounds like a big waste of money
@@dareal5401 just part of production costs my dude. Every movie you've ever watched has hours of footage/scenes that were shot but cut from the final edit. Sometimes entire characters/actors can be cut from a movie in the editing room
@@Chilipotamus thats insane. I wonder how they wrote how finster was soze. And if their own versions are somewhere watchable
When you watch it the second time, knowing this time that Verbal is Keyser Soze, you'll see all the clues to that fact in Spacey's performance that you missed the first time, making the experience of watching the film just as rewarding but in a whole other way than when you watched it the first time.
Saw this in the theater. You could hear a pin drop
I remember one guy angrily standing up a the end and yelled, "BULLSHIT!!!", hahaha
One of the best twist endings in film ever. Incredible.
Maybe the best? Any better twists? I can't think of any.
@@dexio8601 the Prestige is almost up there.
@@dexio8601 Se7en
@@issi529 And se7en
@@1969Makaveli The Others was an amazing twist too....and Fightclub...
It doesn't matter how manny times you will watch this movie, you will *NEVER* be able to know what actually happened. Keyser Söze could have been telling the truth, but he made up the names from the bord, so he just as well could have made it *all* up as he went on, to fit what the cops new, or *thought* they knew already!
We, the audience, have only Keyser Söze's word for what happened, just as the police did. :D
Some stuff is true, I think most of it is true, but many things are omitted.
In case it wasn't mentioned already, the title of the movie is from the line in "Casablanca", "Round up the usual suspects"
Great reaction! That was exactly how I reacted the first time I saw this film! One of my favorites.
You caught one of the few genuine hints the movie gives that Spacey really is Keyser Soze. Remember the scene on the docks, you asked "How does he know they're speaking Hungarian?" Well, Verbal Kint wouldn't know Hungarian, or even what it sounds like. But Keyser Soze would...
Everytime they say Soze Verbal is the next person it shows in the present day I mean, whenever it cuts to the next scene.
That's not a hint
I don't speak French and Spanish but I know what it sounds like
He didn't say it was Hungarian. He _asked_ if it was Hungarian. There's a question mark at the end of his line, if you listen closely. He asked because "Kobayashi" had told them about the mob on the ship being Hungarian.
One of the best films of the '90s. See also "Heat" & "L.A. Confidential". Also, there are some movies where the director's commentary on the DVD is maybe even more entertaining than the film, this is one of them. Really, everything Brian Singer does is worth watching.
Heat
Se7en
Casino
Brave Heart
All came out in 1995.
Definitely thought of recommending LA Confidential while watching this.
Oh, LA Confidential, what a great movie! And Kevin Spacey kills it in that one, too. The moment of "Rollo Tomasi" is just a masterclass of acting. In fact both times. The 1st time lieutenant Axley mentions it to him, thr whole facial change on Spacey, then when he drops the name and has that curious lil laugh. Wow, just WOW.
Still one of my favourite films. Grubby little movie with a genius twist that has been parodied but never done as well. And regardless of what pple think of Spacey as a person, his acting is top notch..
American Beauty
@@meminustherandomgooglenumbers Excellent movie as well.
@@meminustherandomgooglenumbershe was excellent in LA Confidential, too. He steals the scenes he's in.
As for judging hin as a human being: Impretty sure there are other people with much worse human qualities among hollywood stars, they jist hide it better, oe the media doesn't care (yet) to blow up. After all media most probably twisted Spacey's story just as much it did Depp's.
Which leads us to the problems of modern (mass) media, which is more concerned about incomes than facts...
I keep my scepticism, for sure.
if you'd been alive and saw it in theaters, you'd have seen an entire movie theater sit in stunned silence for almost all the rolling credits.
If you liked that film, George, you'll love 'LA Confidential' (also starring Spacey), which is nearly as good -- and then 'The Shawshank Redemption' which is, if anything, even better.
Absolutely. Watch L.A. Confidential.
@@hurricane1951 :-)
Great movie
I agree, LA Confidential is brilliant.
Shawshank Redemption?🤔
I know what's coming and I still get chills.
Same! And I’ve seen this movie at least a dozen times over the years. The slow-mo coffee cup drop on floor gets me every time. Followed by that brilliant montage editing revealing everything. Masterpiece!
I graduated high school when this came out in 1995 and we went back into the theater to watch it again. Such a incredible flick. Brian Singer killed this.
Kevin Spacey is an amazing actor. I've loved almost everything I've seen him in. He was definitely the star of this movie.
This one, along with “The Prestige” are my favourite ones with a twist at the end that totally changes the entire film! Love it!
Prestige on my list!
Dont forget The Sixth Sense, lol
The Prestige was a absolute masterpiece. The ending was indeed amazing like this movie. Very underrated plot twist btw.
It makes you want to rewatch immediately to try to figure it out. So amazing.
Bryan Singer’s first and greatest masterpiece of a movie of all time.
Kevin Spacey won an Oscar for his performance.
Deserved.
Just subscribed. I love your reactions because you actually watch the film and comment at intelligent times. A lot of reactors talk through important scenes and dialogue. It's so refreshing to watch your intelligent reactions. Bravo!
When I first saw it, I nearly jumped out of my seat! HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!
One of my favorite twists EVER. This movie is a total mind f**k and I love it! Your reactions are stellar, sir. Subbed!
Loved yer reaction vid. Had to "like" just on principle alone, lol.
One of those movies where I just sat there and thought, well that was an honour and a privilege to watch.
Yours was a great reaction. yes, I always thought this was genius :)
It's a movie that you can watch multiple times and never get tired of, it's brilliant.
One of the best movie endings ever, ranks up there with Shawshank, Seven, Fight Club etc.
"How can you play a criple so well, without being a criple". Watch 'What's eating Gilbert Grape', it will blow your mind how great the acting is.
Apparently the rest of the cast had no idea that Benicio Del Toro was going to use that accent - the laughing in the line up at the beginning was genuine
One of the greatest twists in movie history...😉
This was both the writer's and director's first major film, which is amazing.
Your reaction made this new for me again. Yes, genius! One of the best surprise endings in cinema
You spotted so many things that we know will be tied up in a nice neat bow at the end. Great reaction
Imagine I had the exact same reaction as you did, but in the movie theatre back in 1995…Lol! I sat there for 2 minutes speechless when it was done…Lol! My favorite movie of all time.
I love the way you edit and present your videos. Very clear and easy to watch..
Great reaction, the same I felt when finishing saw it the first time. Actually, Kevin Spacey won the well deserved Oscar for the part he played. And IMO one of the bottom lines could be, don't judge a book by its cover 👍
This is a movie where, seeing it for the first time, everyone says "I should have known!" but yet they never do.
Loved your reaction, same as me and my brothers and dad back in 96. Good stuff bro
As much as you liked this movie, you HAVE to watch The Game (1997) with Micheal Douglas. You will like it as much if not more than this one.
Now just imagine a whole theatre full of people seeing it the first time and all having this reaction. It's a perfect movie from writing to cinematography and the actors made it even more real. Impossible to remake.
„Makes sense but it also doesn’t make sense that he left.“ My thought: Just wait, it will make sense in a minute.
Great reaction 👍🏻
This is one of the best movies I have seen. Kevin Spacey is brilliant !!
Do watch
- "One hour photo" starring Robin Williams....
- "Duel" - Directed by Steven Spielberg
This, I must say, is one of the most sincere reactions to any movie ever. I just love the true shock when the truth is revealed in the last few minutes. Wonderful! Been watching some of your other videos and man do you deserv a bigger audience!
You actually caught the one clue that could lead someone to know Verbal was Keyser. Remember, you asked "How does he know it is Hungarian?"
Great flick!, this kind of movie is what I call "A Jacobs Ladder Syndrome" . (The kind of movie, that leads you to get to a point of "ok, i see what's going on", then BOOM, "what a twist, ok, now i got it..."....BOOM...."damn, wow, ....OK NOW I GOT IT!".......BOOM!!!....ect, ect..) thanks man.. now for the segway: Ifyou like this kind of movie, may I suggest "Jacobs Ladder", or "The Others"...lol
I've enjoyed a few of your reactions but this is the one that got me to subscribe. Great job!
Thank you!
Had the same reaction in 1995- lol. i was like am i losing my minds?lol Greatest whodunit to date.
Watching people react to this ending, reminds me of the first time I saw this.
Amazing reaction!
First time seeing this, I was totally convinced it had to be Kobayashi who was Soze.
The title...what did Claude Rains as Renault say near the end of Casablanca to misdirect the police ?:"Round up the usual suspects"...and he and Humphrey Bogart ( Rick Blaine) disappeared together....Try : " Suspect Zero"!!! Love watching movies with you kid!
Great reaction. What a film. It manages to spring two amazing twists on you in the space of a few minutes.
Your reactions are so good xD
The Usual Suspects is one of the best in terms of the writing and direction. Unreliable narrators get me every time lol
Such a good one. Keyser Soze. He made up all the names from reading the bulletin board. Genius for sure. Such a good story. Great reaction!
Believe it or not, I have Cerebral Palsy affecting my right hand and right foot, and I marvel at Kevin Spacey's performance...
Great reaction!!
That's how I felt after watching this the first time :D What a twist!
Worst thing about this film is you can’t watch it twice. The first time is the only time and I wish I’d never seen it so I could watch it for the first time again! Great reaction bro 🤘🏻
Oscar for Best Screenplay
New to the channel. Your reaction to this and Snatch were awesome. 2 of my faves
Hands down the best ending in cinema history.
Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction!!!🤣🤣🤣
The basic idea is called "the unreliable narrator", but yeah, damn, what a masterpiece they made out of it 😎
Though if you think of it, Söze actually lost in the end - he did all of that to remove the one person who could identify him, and now there's dozens of policemen who can identify him, they've got a composite sketch of him, and though they don't show it, they certainly even have video footage of him in the police station.
Yes, he won Best Supporting Actor in Oscars.
One of my favorite movies! I love mysteries and thrillers and usually solve them long before the end (I figured out the Sixth Sense as soon as the kid first saw Bruce Willis' character) but this one kept me guessing all the way to the end. A masterpiece!
Clicked on the video after watching another "Usual suspects" reaction and I was like: "Isn't that the guy who made these genuine reactions to Pink Floyd?!" Then I read the video desciption and spotted your other channels: BroAction 😁🙏
The only bad thing about this incredible film is that you can only watch it for the first time once. However, the second time you watch it, it’s a whole new movie but just as good.
One of the best movies ever mad
Got another one for you ( with spooky music)
The 9th gate of hell, by Roman Polanski and music by Voichech Kilar, and Johnny Depp as the main actor
It's anothe last minute penny drop you will never forget
You werent ready. None of us were.
The writing/ screenplay for this was truly incredible genius just pure excellence.
And all the actors acted they asses off in this movie.
You know what's even crazier is that in the year this movie came out (1995). We got other great films that year....
Heat
Casino
Brave Heart
Se7en
All came out that same year. And the writing/ screenplay for all those films were top notch.
Excellent film. The Turkish word for "verbal" is "soze". 😊
This tale was like something out of Arabian Nights. Your editing on this was really good. We still got the flow and key moments.
Yup. Been in my top 10 for years.
2 bits of fan-geekdom trivia.
The first weekend of release of this film had a different every other cut that was shown afterwards. This was down to a HUGE slip up by the opening credits. In that edit it openly states within the first minute that "Kevin Spacey as Keizer Sozai".
The second is they also made the same mistake on the posters for the film!
I wonder if this movie is the reason police interrogation rooms have blank walls.
Singer's next movie was Apt Pupil which is well worth watching
"I feel kinda sorrry for him."
Don't.
Regretted it by the end, lol.
Do you know where the title of the movie came from ? Inspector Renault in Casablanca said " round up the usual suspects "
This is Top 3 greatest payoffs and twists of all time!
you had the same reaction as i when i watched this 1995, had to put ice on my head, lol
If you like good endings, I recommend The Player with Tim Robbins, it's a genius movie. I miss movies from nineties, this one, Shawshank... There are so many of them. Check American Beauty, if you haven't yet, L.A. Confidential, Shakespeare in love, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List. But my favorite movie of all times is The Fugitive.
You got my sub, I'm making my way through your reactions to my favorite movies : this one, pulp fiction ( going to watch it tonight ) , and I hope you get to react to others , like End of Watch, A Fish Called Wanda, The Green Mile ( and / or Saving Private Ryan ). The list goes on but I'm patient to see what you get to.
It’s been 40 years for me and I’m still traumatized by The Thing.. lol..
I’m so envious of everyone who had this experience with the movie. An old guy friend of mine planted a seed for me that there was a crazy twist in the movie, and I figured it out early on. I was quite annoyed at him because I generally figure out what’s going on, and I missed out on having mind blown. 😑 Glad you loved it! ❤️
Great reaction!! If you like The Usual Suspects, check out "Primal Fear" (Richard Gere, Laura Linney, and Edward Norton) !!! Check it out!!
Fantastic film. The first time i watched it and worked out what was going on I just laughed and laughed - the twist is soooo good! I also want to mention the soundtrack which is beautiful and so atmospheric.
The best crime drama of all time. "Lucky Number Slevin" is a close second. Brilliant cast - Morgan Freeman, Ben Kingsley, Bruce WIllis. Maybe the best editing of any movie ever.
I never saw that movie. I might have to check it out. But the best crime drama of all time for me would be Se7en. That movie is brilliant the writing/screenplay and all the actors brought their A game.
I love this movie, and now I love watching people's reactions to it because watching it again just doesn't have the same hit after watching it once.
Good choice!!
You should watch Se7en next, then try to convince yourself that Kevin Spacey didn't play the same character in both movies.
Saw this back to back with "Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead" which has the same type of thriller vibe 🎥🤩🙌👍
Excellent pick, Closey.
In the lineup scene in the beginning everyone was laughing because one of them farted.
The scene at the beginning, the line-up and the laughter... That's genuine. They tried to shoot the scene several times, but it always failed cos the actors for one reason or another would burst into laughter. So, after a while, the director was like "Screw it, do whatever you want"! He intended to let them goof around and later they did shoot the scene right. But after reviewing the material, the director decided that the scene where the actors were screwed around worked better and decided to leave it in the movie.
"Shutter Island" has two massive twists in the end, unlike this one... But I liked this one better...
One of a kind movie!
Se7en is very good too.
Ronin (1998), and The Score (2001), are two other classic crime dramas worth watching. Get Shorty (1995) is a hilarious mob crime movie also worth checking out.
