Great stuff. I make Anki cards from your vids so I can keep all these techniques in mind. Thx
I love the video
these vocals already tracked well in the first place with the right compression and EQ and tuning. there is not much to do here besides matching with the reference vocals.. For us bedroom producers this might not be so helpful. I was hoping to see the whole processing on actual raw vocals. Thank you still for the video Big Z. I love all your content just my honest opinion.
Great video as always!! One question- what is the reason to create “ ghost “ vocal truck to sidechaining delay or reverb? Further automation?
That unprocessed track already sounds very stable and levelled, how it was recorded and what was in the chain?
Notification is on baby
Amazing insight! What about when you have 16 backing vocals stack, like an ariana grande song, would each vocal track have her same lead vocal chain to begin with? Wouldn't that clog any computer? Would you still do it this way?
Another tip: send your vocal delay back into your vocal reverb so it sounds in a similar space.
Thank you brother! Quick question… curious your thoughts of using a WAV reference vs a MP3? In your opinion, does it make much of a difference? 🙏🏼
1. How do you handle a reference track's instrumentation interfering with the reference plugin shows (when you look at the reference plugin, the spectrum analyzer is showing more than the reference track's voice)? For this reason, do you need to choose reference tracks with minimal instrumentation? 2.You suggest de-essing after boosting the treble. Why not before? Thank you for another great video.
Nah you nice man
Hello Big Z ! Could you give us the preset of fabfilter you have creatred to isolate each frequency range please ? Thanks !! Nice video again !
Great Video! But why sending the Lead Vocal to Bus 23 (Sidechain-Trigger) instead of using the Lead Vocal Signal as a Sidechain-Trigger?
Hey Big Z, Thank you very much for your video. I got a big question. I'm a producer and I'm working on Logic too. I got some difficulties to go from my production session (around 70 to 90 tracks) to go to a full mixing session with only stems. In my production session, I got my own organisation but if I have to send it to a sound engineer it could be a little bit complicated for them to understand my own organisation (which can be a mass for them). Do you, in your course, explaining how to order a session to be prepare for the mix ?
I mean by "organization" what workflow do you advice, what instruments or groups of instruments I have to send in buses to make it easier and be clean for the mix ?
(I'm producing EDM, electronics music, tropical house, etc...)
Thanks a lot Big Z for all your videos and courses you do, you're a great producer who inspiring me a lot !
So would you use this same vocal reference technique on a genre where it’s bass and kicks hitting in the reference
This is a great tutorial but surely you should be mixing the vocals with the track. It doesn't matter how they sound in solo.
can you share the vocal chain in studiorack format ?
Great video I don’t have all your plug-in
Слава Big Z!!!
what are your thoughts on ozone?
Do I need record the vocal in stereo or mono sir
Is it possible to achieve the same torment in fl studio?
Dude how can I donate some money to you for teaching me this? I honestly want to thank you properly for this one.
And before you ask: YES It was THAT good.
Jonas Aden reference in the beginning caught me off guard haha
which microphone ?
