- Hi everyone, this is my personal tribute to the great guitar player Andy LaRocque.
I had intention to honor his majestic technique, so I played all his solos in "THEM", third album by King Diamond (1988).
Enjoy!
I hope you like It! \m/

His use of the whammy bar is so musical and melodic, the best with one imo.
Yeah I'm totally agree with you dude!! 🤘🏻⛓️🔥
Of course, that's brilliant among all his techniques played with precise touch, the incredibly pristine sound and over all the pretty good taste. I think one important influence in Andy's whammy bar technique is the style of Brad Gillis.
Andy LaRocque, Hank Shermann, and Michael Denner, all tied for my favourite guitarists ever.
The King was always surrounded by the best guitarists.
Me too!
And so underrated.
Pete Blakk too
@@minidoumbia6449 and why not Mike Wead as well.
Andy is on another level... Has been since the 80's. Such great memories from that man
Agree!! 🔥⛓️🤘🏻
I learned all of these too when I was 18 in '87-88. Pete Blakk, Andy, Mike Moon and Michael Denner were huge influences on me.
Very interesting! 🔥🤘🏻⛓️
Amazing. Andy is my favorite guitar player!!
Great. Me too!! \m/
Me too.
@@khanwrong4734 Same. Andy LaRoque has long been a guitarist whom I emulate, his lead playing especially
Me too
Andy’s heavy neoclassical style is really awesome, right up there with malmsteen and the other scandi players in my opinion
Andy along with Dave Murray of Maiden are the 2 most underrated guitarists ever!!!!🤘🤘🤘
Never forget Pete Blakk. Probably half of the solos are his. Also Annihilators main member Jeff Waters.
THEM is one of the greatest collection of compositions ever created. The story itself is mind- bending. The attic, The cellar, Grandma, Missy, King, The old house... but what attaches it all together are the mood swinging solos. It's like the guitars are freaking out as well. Andy AND PETE were phenomenal on this album. Thank you so much for this!!! So very well done!! Enhanced the rest of my life. Thank you!!!
Andy LaRocque is the most underrated guitarist of all time! Uniquely melodic and haunting style, crazy technical and doesn't matter how many times i listed to KD, my jaw always hits the floor.
The only album by Death i like is Individual Thought Patterns and could easily be attributed to Andy's playing on it!
Yeah my thoughts exactly!
Technically, he is one of my favourite guitarists! 🤘🏻⛓️🔥
Insane playing! One of my favorite guitarists and albums.
Thank you very much!! 🔥🤘🏻⛓️
Amazing job!! One of my favorite guitar players of all time!
Thank you very much! 🔥⛓️🤘🏻
Great work! Them and Conspiracy were guitar masterpieces, both solo and rhythm-wise.
Thank you man! 🤘🏻⛓️
I think King Diamond, in his own project and in Mercyful Fate, had and has had technically wonderful guitarists!
The "Warble". Big time Death AND King Diamond fan. I was literally listening to At The Gates and I was like damn this guitarist is totally doing the Andy LaRocque double stop harmonic warble thing... And then I looked it up. GUEST SOLO!
The album House of God needs some love. Is a underrated album with iconic solos.
Amazing job! Would be cool to hear Blakk's solos too :) Such a duo! "Them" and "Conspiracy" are just unreachable.
Thank you man! 🔥⛓️🤘🏻
Agreed, the single BEST solo on that record was not Laroque's but was Peter Blakk's ( the FIRST solo in 'Welcome Home').
@@andyhayes7828 I disagree...
Wow that was so cool to see those solos played out. Excellent.
Liked and sub’d. More LaRocque!
Thank you bro! ⛓️🔥🤘🏻
Watching in honor of Andy's 60 birthday today
Awesome playing! The dual solos in the invisible guests are absolutely shred-tastic.
Thank you man! 🔥🤘🏻
ya the 2nd open note high e playing isn't andy right..i have the vinyl that states it..ha
Damn straight bro. Those dueling guitars are fuk'n on point without a doubt.
It's amazing! If I've never watched this video I wouldn't believe that somebody - except Andy - can play all the solos from Them!
Thank you bro! 🔥🤘🏻⛓️

Talk about technique, Andy is just a monster. I recorded an album with my band at his studio in Sweden about a year and a half ago, and I'm a MASSIVE fan so I was trying my hardest to keep it professional and not fanboy too hard, and then he picks up one of our acoustic guitars while my guitarist was in the bathroom and played some like classical arpeggio thing just to check how that guitar sounded, played for maybe about 8 seconds and my jaw was on the floor lol, I've seen him live plenty with KD but just something about his technique, on an acoustic, 5 feet in front of me..man that guy..
Bro, I agree with you!
I think his technique is unique!
He is one of my favorite guitarists that influenced me so much about style and technique!
I hope you will listen something about my stuff! ⛓️🔥🤘🏻
@@miketheunholy_shred yea dude I should probably mention you nailed those THEM solos about as well as i've seen, Andy's stuff is definitely NOT easy to do, well done sir!
Andy was my favorite musician in king Diamond. The conspiracy concert was amazing.
He is to Heavy Metal what David Gilmore is to Progressive Rock - his harmonies are sublime and full of narration. They're not just pretty sounds, they tell stories.
Damn I wish I could understand how to do that. For 47 years I've tried but in the process I've developed my own style of shortcuts and showmanship. I envy you and all those other wonderful musicians. All my respect.
Hi man, thank you very much!
I appreciate your words!
It's all about Study and Practice! 🔥⛓️🤘🏻
@miketheunholy_shred Nah...some people like you are born with a certain kind of understanding. Hard work just goes so far. Really.
Them was my school bus jam during my freshman year in 88. I started driving when Conspiracy was released. Good times, I eventually discovered Mercyful fate soon after. Came back to this video to hear it again, 1 year later.
Awesome story man! I love It! 🤘🏻🔥⛓️
Honestly watching this for the 3rd time and I have never seen anyone capture the flare in the bends and whammy the way you do. I am a fan!! If you have any more music ... POST IT!!
Thank you so much Bro!!
You can find other videos on my RUclips Channel!

The album titled "Them" blew me away as a kid
It has been two years, Sir! Not gonna explain myself, you are still brilliant. Period. They Eye, Sir? (your friend from Eastern Europe). [Never gonna bring up I swear but if it's a money issue you know where the find me].
Hi man, thank you for the support!
Nothing about money issue!
I'm working on a new video about Andy!
I play in many bands and this is the reason I'm going slow to share videos on RUclips!
But something Will be out! I Hope very soon! 🤘🏻⛓️🔥
@@miketheunholy_shred Glad to hear it. Don't really know what to tell you other than keep it up. We love you!

Sooooooo underrated 😢
Yeah unfortunately! It's one of my favorite guitarists! 🔥⛓️🤘🏻
How great it is to see people like you.

Andy is truly a great. Pete Blakk was also amazing on that album.
Those are the solos i gotta play on my Jackson!
Andy LaMike...well done
Ow thank you very much man!! 🔥⛓️🤘🏻
Phenomenal guitarist, one of my top 5.
Outstanding job! Bye Bye, Missy is the best one.
Can someone plz give andy the award for best tone over 30 years and running and basically ushering in shred licks with long whammy bar bends or pulls ..this dude and guy from nite ranger that filed in for randy roades when he did pretty much launched the real use of floyds and khalers
that was fantastic. my fav laroque solo will always be the one at the end of haunted
Thrilled seeing this. Andy and Pete Blakk are the best
Awesome.
Thank you Bro! 🔥⛓️🤘🏻

Definitely not one of the easiest guitarists to cover. Great job!
Thank you Bro! ⛓️🔥🤘🏻
Sick man, great job! Love that solo in Mother's Getting Weaker. Keep shredding 🤘
Thank you bro!!
Never stop shredding as hell... don't worry!!! 🔥⛓️🤘🏻
Andy does those welcome home pitch bends with his fingers, not so much with the tremolo bridge, except for the tremolo effects of course, when he holds those screaming notes during the crescendos
Great job man! I love Andy!
Thank you man! We all love him!
Andy is the man but don’t forget Pete Blakk, his solos are so technical and melodic. Them, Conspiracy and The Eye had the best guitar playing of King Diamonds career on them.🤘🏼🎸
GREAT JOB DUDE!
Thank you bro! 🔥⛓️🤘🏻
Awesome job bro
Thank you very much Bro! ⛓️🤘🏻🔥
God Damn!!
Excellent!!!!!!!
Thank you very much! 🔥⛓️🤘🏻
nice to see actually someone feels it still last good solo in death metal i Heard In individual; thought patterns Death album ;)
Thank you man!! 🤘🏻⛓️🔥
Weeks of practice to play 4 and a half Minutes. Great job my FRIEND. Great dedication and grit.
Thank you Bro!! 🔥🤘🏻⛓️
Hell yeah!
🔥🤘🏻⛓️
Jego styl jest niesztampowy, niepowtarzalny, znakomity.Wielu gitarzystów topowych gra podobnie do siebie, solówki Andyego można smakować jak wykwintne danie.Jego gitara poprostu śpiewa:)^^
Really hope you put out more vids bro
I'm working on a new video like this one!
Stay tuned!
Thank you for the support Bro!
The accusation chair!!!

Very accurate!! Well done
Thank you!! 🔥🤘🏻⛓️
@@miketheunholy_shred you must play Conspiracy solos too
Thanks for the suggestion!! 🔥
Would you have any plans for lessons on how to play these? I was wanting to learn some Andy LaRoque solos, but most of my favourite solos seem way too hard for me at the moment, but I think I just need someone to point out the right way to approach the songs. I really want to learn his solo in Victimized, Black Horsemen would also be great.
Hi bro, thank you for your interest!
Now I'm working on a new video that will be released very soon but it's not a bad idea in future to do a video lesson about Andy Larocque style solo!
Thank you for the proposal too and stay tuned!
🔥⛓️🤘🏻
Dojście do takiego poziomu jak Mike zajeło by mi lata świetlne wręcz nieosiągalne.Musiałbym nie pracować tylko ćwiczyć poza tym mam drewniane palce, nauka gry to trudna sztuka.
Holy smoke! That was so great!!
Thank you man! 🔥🤘🏻⛓️
Bravo come sempre!
Grazie mille Chris! 🔥⛓️🤘🏻
