Awesome video! Really helpful! I was supposed to receive adjustable drag links on both ends but received the ones that don't adjust on spindle end. They don't fit right of course. Going to see if can send back or cut them to fit better. Your video was easy to follow and to do as instructed. Thank you.
Good video. I was lucky. My "little girlie hands" were able to reach up above the sector gear. I had trouble getting a backup on the nut on the drag link. This may have been partly because the drag links came from the John Deere store installed backwards. The adjustable end was bolted to the sector gear. Luckily I was able to remove the two big bolts that hold the sector gear up. I didn't have the metric combination wrenches, but I was able to use a small crescent wrench to back up the nuts on top.
New subscriber! Thanks for this video, I'll be installing mine tomorrow, Sept 6, 2024 around 3:30 pm eastern time. Stand by the comment section I may have some questions 😂😂😂 jk jk
I have a L112 i just got used. The problem it has is that the left tie rod touches the main engine bearing when turning so it makes this grinding noise. The rods look new. The guy said a lot components were replaced on them 2 years ago and one of them was those so he doesnt know is they installed wrong ones or what but happens when almost at full lock.
I don’t know any tricks, you can try sneaking a wrench above that plate and hooking onto it but I can’t do it. It isn’t to bad just taking of that plate. You will probably waste more time trying to sneak that nut off vs just taking it all apart. Good luck
First check that you put them on the right side, the links are specific to a side. If that doesn’t work then try stock links, if that doesn’t work then get a bit arse hammer and beat her back straight.
I was thinking to myself,no way is he going to put that bad secter gear plate back on, lol The finish product looked like the steering plate was not centered, is it not supposed to be or are my eys just bad? Lol But great job man. Thanks for the video

Haha glad you could appreciate my joke.
Great video. Thanks for the tips. Using impact and air wrench saved me time and aching hands.
Glad it helped, impacts are the way to go!
I really have to say, I've just recently found your channel and it seems like every project flip I'm working on you have a video for, really nice job!
Glad it helps. My goal is to come up with a library of videos to help ya fix any riding mower. Good luck with your flips
Very detailed video, 👍💪🏻
Glad it helped
I had bought two sector gears then cut the top gear part off of one of them to weld onto the other in hopes they dont wear out as fast the nexg time
Wow that is a great idea. Those things are way to cheap and thin, let me know how it works out. Best idea I have seen on my comments yet
How much adjustment from stock length do you get, 1”, 2” more?
Maybe 2in ish

Haha you got this!
Will this work on a D160 model? really need to adjust the alignment in front is toe in.
Take a look and see if it has these drag links. It is an easy job
Are all the kits the same? I am looking at a Kumar kit for my L130 that has all new hardware. Love the video . Thanks
No idea, some of that Chinese stuff is good some isn’t
Thank you so much! I think I can do this!!
Yep is an easy one, you got this. Just take your time
Does it matter which end of the link the adjustable part is on ?
Yes it should be pointed to the front wheel
Still can't understand why they don't offer just the end links to replace and not the whole drag link on the old style ones.
Rigjt

Guess no sharp turns for you lol
Will these work for all 100 series?
Yes I think it should for all the L or LA series. The X series do have a different front end though
Any possible way of getting that 17mm on the nut without taking off the sprocket and removing everything ?

@@MowerMike thanks. Sounds like I might wait til winter to try when I have more time.
Pair of needle nose vice grips will fit above that plate Gotta access th right side by going under from the left side and vice versa.,
Cannot adjust enough to get wheels straight?? What am I doing wrong?
Anyone help

Lucky I have "little girlie hands," I didn't have to disassemble the whole damn thing.
Lol well done!
I've never heard it called "drag brace". I've heard "drag link". Which is it?
Well Ralph they both link and brace so call it what you want, dealers choice! Lol
Why didn't you just drop the sector gear instead?
No idea

Haha am sure you are right, but these are just crappy old mowers so my give a damn is gone
Do you have a link for the new ones you bought?
Hey Jim, the links are listed in the video description. Let me know if that isn’t what ya need.
Mower L108 want go fowared or back
Just mow in circles
Do you have to deck off the mower deck?
If you are just doing the drag links then no you can get by with the deck installed
@@MowerMike You're a daisy if you do!
theres half the teeth missing on the sprocket
Yep that did turn into an issue
