    I don't bid too incredibly often on eBay, but I actually say DON'T "add to watchlist" (for an auction with 0 or low bids) because if there's other people who are also looking to snipe they'll see that they have competition and may raise their bids

I also find the same item that isn’t included in an auction just so I know when an auction isn’t worth trying to win.

    These are all the tricks I use and they really work! One way I do it is, whatever the item is at when it gets to 60 seconds, I double that price and bid that amount in the last 3-4 seconds depending how my Internet connection is at the time.
    So if an item is at 34$ with one minute to go, then I'll bid 68$ at the last 3 seconds. And since eBay bids up for me, sometimes you win it for way less than your max bid.🎉

If I placed a bid at the last second of even a max bid of say $1950.78 in my case and someone else placed a max bid of $2100 it would be exactly 50$ over what I bid…. …2050.78 so I guess in your cause say the item was at $18 and you bid 21.78 and I bid 30$ max bid eBay would automatically lock me in at ¢.50 higher then you….

    How much lead time do you recommend? Will it simply bid your maximum bid
    or will it just try to out bid the highest bid by an increment over the
    winning bid at the snipe time? How do you save money doing this if it
    just pops in your max bid? Dont you risk overpaying?

    Hi I have a question if an item has a current price of 56 euro and I bid for example 83 euro in the last seconds so I can secure the price and if there are other bidders too , they probably won’t have time to outbid me right ? but if I win will I have to pay 83 euro or if they don’t outbid me I’ll pay less depending on how much other bidders had time to bid?

    • @tomatrix7525
      @tomatrix7525 3 года назад +5

      To answer your question, No.
      If they don't outbid you you'll pay less, but bids are usually incremental in slots of x amount, which you can see at the bidding site for the item, usually 5 or 10 euro etc I think on some items atleast, so it might mean you pay 60 euro instead of 56.

    Bid sniping doesn’t help you win, though. It risks losing so that you can MAYBE get it at a discount. Assuming the other party hasn’t put in a maximum bid.

      You can bid 1 million dollars on an item and you will automatically win the auction. Ebay will automatically lower your bid amount to just 1 dollar above the highest bidder next to you. when the bidding closes you win the item by paying only a dollar more than the highest bidder.

    Sniping only beats snipers and only on very common items. I’m bidding on something right now and my leading bid is 351.00 there is a day left in the auction. I expect this auction to go into the final minute at 351.00 This is a rare item that I really want and I expect that there are 1/2 dozen other serious and motivated bidders. Assuming you wanted this item, what would your sniper bid be?...............,,,,,,,,,,, i will make sure my max bid is 101.00 over the current bid. Most snipers are not going to bid 100.00 over the current bid In the last seconds. If your looking at a common item you can can continue to snipe until you win. If your looking at an item that only comes to auction a couple of times a year, sniping is not the way to go.

    Whats best automatic bidding or sniping? How do you activate automatic bidding? Can I bid on the eBay app? Many thanks!

    • @mountainsunset816
      @mountainsunset816 3 года назад +5

      In fact, when you enter your maximum amount, this is not the amount that you actually bided. EBay will automatically increase your bid until reaching that amount. For example, say you entered 75$ and the current bid is 55$, eBay will automatically bid 56$ for you. If someone bids 57$, eBay will automatically increase your bid to 58$ to outbid that person's bid until reaching your 75$ maximum. If someone outbids your 75$, then you can either increase your maximum bid or just stop bidding and looking for somewhere else for a better deal.

    • @mountainsunset816
      @mountainsunset816 3 года назад +13

      So when you enter your amount, eBay does automatically bid for you. Also, you can bid on the eBay app. Finally, always always always remember to enter the maximum amount that you think will make you happy if you actually paid for that amount in the end. Ususally, if you win you will pay lower than the maximum amount you entered, which increases your happiness. If you lose in some cases, it means the final amount exceeds the maximum amount that will make you happy, so simply forget about it and look for somewhere else.

      Waste of time. Just put in the max amount that you are willing to pay for the item a few seconds before it ends.. if you arent able to do that then put the max you are willing to a pay in as close as you can to the end... what it boils down to is are you will to pay more for the item than everyone else.. if not then you will likely lose if you are you are likely to win. A snipe program will not change the results if bid less than I do.
