Cheap DIY door vapour barrier repair.
How to replace a car door vapour barrier diy on any car. No new parts, just household items
Saturday night:
Can of Stella (or unpronouncable Aldi equivalent), 30 minutes spent searching for the Chinese menu (then finding out they’ve just been shut down after an inspection) and one of these fine videos (even when they bear no relation to the vehicle I own).

@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Yeah, would be better for getting your hands into stuff but I guess you don't want a go pro strapped to your head all afternoon lol. That and you can't see if it's recording or what you're recording so well. Maybe a headcam for some of the more difficult stuff, and the one handed struggle for the rest 😁

So ur keeping the water inside the door, and not the wrong side of vapor barrier? And where is the drain for the door ?
The water runs into the door anyway as it will always pass the weather strip along the bottom of the window, but the door has drain holes in the bottom
Ah ,,, I didnt realize you were deprived ,,, maybe you need to go past the automotive equivalent of the food bank ,,, sort of a tool bag or a sack of bits or something and see if they will donate some of the gentleman's sausage waxing strip that comes on a roll and use that ,,, a simple run of gaffa tape right round that membrane would have finished it off right proper ...
but we did get foor tapping ,,, thats a great thing.
There are probably many ways I could have done it better, but it was spur of the moment using what I had available at the time 😂

@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos When the vapor barrier is compromised you WILL have wet carpet. The water on the outside sill is water that is draining from inside the door that is entering through the window. Cant you see where the rubber seal is that the door seals against?
@@anton.basanisi I know what you’re saying and if I hadn’t seen it do this the way that it has then I would totally agree with you. The vapour barrier is to the inside of the door and should by right go inside the car, but it wasn’t doing. You can see where the water is running out of the vapour barrier clearly, but instead of running into the car it must be sitting there trapped til the door is opened or something. Since doing it, the water isn’t pooling on the sill anymore when the door is opened.
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos just get a bucket of water and tip it onto the window and i'll bet you will have water on your sill..
