Have not heard of James Blunt or this song before this performance. So I went back and listened to the original song. Nothing against the original singer of this song, but this Young Man elevated this song to another level 👏
I have listened to James Blunt which he's famous for "You're beautiful," but I never heard "Monsters." I did the same and although I do like Mr. Blunt this kid put that raw emotion and voice into it. I LOVE his version and hope they record and stream it.

I'm from Kenya, and we Africans sort of have a different culture, dad's and sons rarely show affection. Iam's performance made me realize how much my dad means to me. And I know he feels the same
Oh, I love this! I lost my dad last year. He told my sister and me that he loved us the first time while in the ER three days before he died. He always showed it so we never doubted it, but it was a wonderful gift.

It's the same all over the world, I think. It's kinda the case in my family here in America. Or at least, they don't show affection in a direct way but in indirect ways.

Dear Jesus, this young man is truly amazing, i watched him on american idol, I usually don't get emotional about this but my wife looked over at me and tears rolling down my face as well as hers, my dad passed, will be 2 yrs this July 24th, he was 84

Lost my dad last month on the 16th of January to his cancer so this performance and video definitely hit harder. I hope he goes far in life he seems like he deserves it! Rip to his dad!!

I lost my dad a year ago, and I didn't really have a chance to grief because I felt I had to be strong for my sisters at the time, but after watching his performance all the emotions I held on came out. I feel sadness because I can't help to think of the pain my daughter will go through when I'm gone

Hi Dennis! This boy broke my heart! I lost my Dad years ago when I was only 12 and it still hurts. I sit at night sometimes and listen to some of the songs that we listened to and played together when I was young. It still draws out deep rooted feelings. Love our reactions, keep it up man!

I've never heard this song...but OH MY GOD!! First you have an incredible voice and you are gifted! I'm sure your daddy is so very proud of you! My Daddy has been gone going on 6 years Christmas and he's the one that got my mom and aunts and all of us into music and singing. I miss him everyday! This really hits hard for me. dad has been battling extremely high blood pressure for a year. blood pressure 325/220 on 5 different high blood pressure medicine year 2017 he almost had a stroke and heart attack at the same time. and three blood clots in his lung and so much fluid I pray to lord to give him another chance, and he pulled through .at the time I was living in Florida and something told me to go back home I left Florida got me a house close and I spend time withmy dad as much as possible but the day of Sept 19th I got the call from mom saying my dad passed away from a mass heart attack but the worse part was he died in my kids arm the pain I felt couldn't even. Describe i. I was a dad girl, and his death took a piece of my heart with him. I miss him so much, but what really gets to me? I never got to say goodbye.
Guess what? That time you spent with him was the best way to say farewell. You are so very blessed ❤

Sucks to keep grieving like this, but the strength in this man's performance, will always remind me of the strength to keep pushing on in life.
