    It is pretty impressive how much information is presented in this promotional material. Actual attempts to inform the user on what the new technology works. This would never happen today.

    I have these models and they are very impressive.

    I never did use that Laserlink option. I wonder how stable it was when playing back video.

      Laaerlink used fm modulation to send the signal over the IR night shot "flashlight" so as long as you had line of sight it was perfect. I have a laserlink receiver around here. Its probably packed in a box somewhere. One day I will find it and do a demo showing the quality as I do have a few cameras that had the option.

    2:25 - stairstepping. The deinterlacer in the box you use is not the greatest. Why 30p?

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  2 месяца назад

      I didn't deinterlace it. That was played our on a digital 8 camera directly into computer and output at 480i. RUclips did that.

    • @ConsumerDV
      @ConsumerDV 2 месяца назад

      @@12voltvids Interesting. RUclips used to weave both fields together, which resulted in combing. Here, there is no combing, but there is stairstepping, as if only one field is being used. Maybe broadcasters like CBS, who is notorious for uploading interlaced content, pressured Google to fix deinterlacing twenty years after the creation of the platform? OTOH, I saw CBS content with combing just several days ago. IDK.

      @@ConsumerDV Some recordings contain the same information in both fields as they are recorded in 30000/1001 FPS for NTSC and 25 FPS for PAL and SECAM.

    They don't have to try as hard to sell something today because they're not that hard to afford. Why would a person pay for something expensive if they can get something similar a lot cheaper? Way more competition now. That's my opinion, I may be wrong. Interesting video!

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  2 месяца назад

      There was plenty of competition back then too.

      Yes they did last that long when they were new. I still have old batteries that work.
