  • Food sample making kit series 'Sample'n Cooking'. This time, I tried spaghetti Napolitana. Spaghetti Napolitana is ketchup-flavoured spaghetti with bacon, onion, mushroom, green pepper and so on. The ingredients are made of wax, the sauce is made of gelatin. I don't know the reason why the spaghetti is called 'Napolitana' but it's one of popular spaghetti menu in Japan. This isn't edible, fake food(can not eat). These food samples uses for menu sample by the most of restaurants in Japan. Food samples can carry more detailed information about the menu than simple text menu or photo menu. It's one of Japanese culture. I want to get and show you the techniques of making food samples.

AAAAAAAH😱😱😱 the Pasta alla Napoletana isn't ketchup-flavoured😒 in Italy We use tomato sauce *^* the pasta cannot be ketchup flavoured, or it should have a sweet- strange flavour. Viva la cucina italiana 😍😍😍😍

in Japan, artificial food samples are very popular, they are typically used to put on display inside or outside restaurants, fast food joints or little eateries to show customers how the different food on their menus look like, and customers can order from what they see and like from the food samples, that's why these food samples are so realistic looking, they're suppose to replicate real food, used very commonly in the restaurant/catering business. You can also collect food samples as hobby.

well, it's up to you to clean them regularly, just like you clean your room, or house or car regularly or whatever, these food samples need occasional dusting and cleaning, like just about everything else. but it also depends on where you store it, if you store it in a display container or something to cover it, then it won't get dusty or dirty.

I guess the name comes from 'napoli'. 'Spaghetti alla napoletana' are common in italy even thought our ingredients are slightlydifferent. Plus, spaghetti and pasta are often made in Napoli or Around (Gragnano is famous too for example) so... I guess Japan somehow imported the name? I'm not sure. Anyway, i's a glorious set, I'd love to try it myself.
