I have watched many crochet RUclips tutorials in my day, but this video is soooo clear and the stitches are so easy to see that it blows my mind. This level of video quality precision definitely does not go undetected - thank you for such a high quality and patient tutorial! Definitely going to follow it along 😁
Wow thank you SO MUCH for your incredibly kind feedback and comment 🥰 These tutorials take a long time to film and edit, so I really appreciate your kind words! I’m glad you found the video clear and easy to follow along 💖 Enjoy crocheting your bag and once again thank you for your amazing encouragement!
Is nobody going to talk about how hard it is to do the waistcoat stitch?? I bent my 2.5 hook and I'm still struggling.😭 Or am I just doing something wrong? But thank you sm @allaboutami for a great pattern tutorial
Thanks for your encouragement! Yeah the waistcoat stitch can be a tricky one but it’s so great for strength. You can totally use single crochet too if it’s turning out to be too challenging!
I learned a new stitch, the waistcoat stitch. Suffice it to say, I will never do this stitch again 😂 it pretty much zapped all the joy I had in anticipation of finishing this project. But it does look nice and seems strong.
I haven’t posted any tutorials for lining crochet bags, so those videos might be by a different creator! That’s good to know that there are good tutorials out there though 👍🏻

Thank you for wonderful tutorial! It is clear and thorough 😆 picked up my hooks again after 8 years of not crocheting, I finished one square already only 12 more to go 😅 thank you again for this awesome pattern and tutorial! ❤❤

I love the tut but one confusion 2:59 / 21:24 are we supposed to add the loops like for each chain 😢I am just a beginner so ya please reply to me as fast as u can cuz my cousin is going to a different country so she asked me to make this I have 18 days left please reply to me❤❤❤
Yes you should work the clusters for each petal - only the beginning cluster is worked differently. All the clusters/petals are separated by chain 3’s!
Why do I skip the stitches before and after the corners in Round 5? What would happen if I don't? 😊 I just try to really understand the thoughts behind a pattern
Thanks for asking! I chose to skip the stitches before and after the corners in Round 5 so it would be less crowded in the corners! I like how this looks so it doesn’t appear as cluttered there ☺️
Honestly trying to do the waist stitches were very difficult In the second round and I had to switch to a thinner needle butt I think I'll stich to single crochet in the next view rows for the strap.and I made 180ch because I personally prefer it to be a over the Shoulder strap instead and found 180 fot quite nicely.
I used thia tutorial for my granny squares, I would like to make a cardigan out of it but I realized you never did the last row for the caedigan! I used slightly thinner yarns and 5mm crochet hook. Do you think I can use these square or better to remove the last row and make more (smaller) squares? Thank you xx
Hi there! If you want a more “airy” look, you can keep that last round since it has the chain gaps, but if you want a more solid look, you could remove the last round!
@@AllAboutAmiBlog oh thank you so much for your reply ❤️ Your tutorials and crochet ideas are amazing, thank you! 😍 I will let you know how I get on ;)
Wow this is truly amazing! I'm a crocheter for over 3 years now and i really LOVE this tutorial!! You can see how much time it cost to film edit ect. Thank you so much for the amount of time you packed in this tutorial because it was worth it!!! My bag turned out so pretty 🥰 Thank you ❤
Aww I’m sooo happy to hear that your bag turned out so well 💕 Thank you for your very kind words! It did take a long time to film this video, so I’m so happy that you found it helpful 🥰
@@AllAboutAmiBlog hello! I want to start this project and thank you so much for such detailed tutorial and easy follow for beginner, I have one question before I start, is one ball of DK yarn (100g, 250m) enough for the main colour/body + strap for this bag?
Hey I really love your pattern and I’m trying to start a Etsy business online for these bags because they’re so cute and I want to make money and raise money for my Europe trip next June and I have some financial goals of buying a camera but I was wondering if it was okay with you if I sell this bag on Etsy and the smaller one but with 2 straps. If not that’s totally okay and I understand
@@AllAboutAmiBlog thank you SO much you have no idea how much this means to me 🥹 you are a really amazing person and I will obviously give you a shout out on Etsy for letting me sell this wonderful bag! I was filled with joy when you said I was able to. This will help me and my business which I am now just starting 😅. THANKS SO MUCH 🙏🏾😭🥹🥰
The moment I came across this pattern I knew I had to make this bag, the tutorial simply made it so much easier. I made a half dozen last spring /summer, sold all but one at a local shop. The one left was given away to a friend who absolutely adored it. Thank you for what you do!
You’re very welcome 💕 Thank you for your support and feedback! That’s amazing how you made so many bags and sold them - what a special gift for your friend too! Thanks for your sweet comment 🥰
Hello. Thank you so much for the very nice tutorial. ❤ I would just like to ask a question as I was not able to follow round 3. I'm a bit confused. Is the beginning cluster (cluster 1) the only different one from the rest of the clusters (cluster 2-12)? Hope you would notice and answer my question. A beginner here. Thank you so much. 😊🙏
Some of my pattern testers lined their bags with fabric! Since I don’t have too much experience sewing, I use a bag organizer insert to instantly add zipper closure and compartments. I bought mine on Amazon, and the brand is called “Periea” (the medium size fits in this bag)!
Some people like to block the individual squares as they find it easier to seam after blocking! However, if you find that your squares are fairly even and consistent, you can just seam them and block the final bag 👍🏻
I’m watching this & following the pattern on your blog- but mine seems a little ‘off’. Would you say the granny squares should have pretty tight tension?? I can’t seem to figure it out!
Hmm are you using the same yarn and hook size? Do your stitch counts match at the end of each round? Does your granny square have the same finished dimensions as mine? I would say it’s decently tight since I didn’t want my bag to stretch too much with time and wear! 🧶
So glad I came across this! I have so many bags worth of squares made, but have been avoiding putting them together because I hadn't really come across a great tutorial on that part specifically, thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you for this! I used the granny sqaure daisy pattern for a bag! I posted it on my channel and tagged you 😊. This is by FAR the easiest crochet tutorial I've ever done! Thank you ❤ 💓
Thank you for this tutorial! I’m really confused about round 6: if I skip a stitch on both sides, I only manage to get 9 dc not 10! I think I did previous round correctly, with 16 sts on each side, I only get 11 chains before chain 3 space so I can’t seem to get 10 required at round 6. I tried checking video again and your written guidance but can’t figure it out. I have 13 squares finished to round 5 so would be a shame to stop now! Would really really appreciate some help on this.
If your stitch count was correct in the previous round, then you are possibly identifying the wrong stitch to skip! Sometimes the stitch that needs to be skipped is “hidden” under the corner stitches!
Very clear and easy to follow. I'm pleased I found you, and I liken your talent to that of 'Hooked By Robin' as she is also very clear and easy to follow! x
So very beginner friendly. I'm 3 squares in so far and feeling more confident with each one. It might be a little rough around the edges on account of my lack of experience, but even so, my sister is sure to love her Christmas present. Thank you for the clear instruction!
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback and support! This will be such a special gift for your sister! Thank you very much for leaving such an encouraging comment 💖 Enjoy crocheting the rest of your bag!
Thank you so, so much for sharing. I thought it would be too hard for my skill level, but I loved making this bag - I've done it twice and will do it again! The squares are fun and quick to make, and sewing them together is so satisfying. The graphics, photos, and instructions in your blog are so detailed and clear. The strap was the hardest/most time consuming part - learning that waistcoat stitch! Realized that sizing up my crochet hook on the row before waistcoat stitch made it much easier. I gave one to my sister for her birthday and she loved it so much she started crying. ♥
You’re very welcome! Thank you sooo much for your detailed feedback and encouragement - I really appreciate it 💕 Good idea to size up your hook on the row before the waistcoat stitch! That’s great that you learned this strong stitch 👍🏻 What a special handmade gift for your sister!!!
Thank you so much for the amazing tutorial and design - made the bag during the summer for myself and so many people complimented the bag, asked for the tutorial and I was able to share my love for crochet. Nearly done with the second bag that I am making for a friend as a Christmas gift. Thank you!
Thank you sooo much for your very kind comment and feedback about the tutorial and pattern! Your encouragement brought such a big smile to my face 🥰 I put a lot of time and effort into this video, so I’m very happy that you found it helpful! That’s wonderful how you got so many compliments and that you could share your love of crochet ❤️ What a special Christmas gift the bag will be for your friend! You’re very welcome - thanks for taking the time to write such a sweet comment!
I saw one of ur shorts of u making one of ur adorable granny squares after that i knew I had to make on of ur projects and i chose this one as a gift to one of my family members. Tysm for this tutorial ❤ I have attached all the squares so far I just have to make the straps
That’s amazing how you’ve made so many granny squares already 👍🏻 That will be a very special gift! Enjoy crocheting the rest of your bag and thanks for letting me know 💖
If you use a 3.5 mm hook, your squares might turn out a bit smaller 🧶 If you are okay with your overall bag being a bit smaller, you can go ahead and use it!
Hi there! I think the pattern you purchased is the “Summer Days Daisy Bag” as Round 5 uses half double crochets for that design! It is a small size bag with one strap. This video here is for the “Breezy Days Daisy Bag” which is a medium size bag that has two straps. I have a separate video for the Summer Days Daisy Bag! 🌼
Thank you for this great tutorial! If I don't have 3.75mm and 2.75mm hooks, do you think it will still be similar if I were to use 4.0mm/3.0mm or 3.5mm/2.5mm hooks instead?
You can definitely switch up the crochet hook sizes depending on what you have! I would work up a sample granny square using the different hook sizes and see how you like the density of the stitches and the size of the overall square. You don’t want too many holes/gaps and you also don’t want your square to be too small (otherwise your overall bag might be smaller than you expected)!
I’ve already made a bunch of squares and flowers, but I have not figured out why for the flower part, there is some yellow sticking out of the white petals? When we closed off the yellow part w/ a knot, that knot becomes visible, even with the white petals around it.
When I crochet over my yarn tails, I find that the knot gets tucked away and hidden! If it pops back out again, you can use a crochet hook to hide it within a petal again!
i came across this tutorial after finishing another bag, this is so cute! i’m defo gonna make this soon, maybe not now tho i have crochet bag burnout 😭
I’m so glad you’re interested in making this bag! Thanks for your feedback about the tutorial ☺️ The finished dimensions are: Width: 13.5”/34.3 cm, Height: 13.5”/34.3cm, Straps: 20"/50.8 cm!
@@AllAboutAmiBlogI cant find it, I need to know the size of the bag. Thank you for helping. Gorgeous bag, I made one for my daughter:) just want to check if a got the same size like yours.
Hello, I absolutely love your content and patterns. Although, there is one thing I am very confused about. I have made all my granny squares and am trying to whip stitch them together. I understand the concept, until I get to the corners. I have looked through your blog extensively and watched many tutorials but none of them have the same chain 3 around the corner. Could you please explain how to stitch the corners? Thank you so much for all the effort put into your content! 💗💗
Thanks for your kind words 🩷 I like to split the chain 3’s like this: one chain belongs to one side and the other chain belongs to the other side. The middle chain can “belong” to both sides so you can stitch through that middle chain when doing both the vertical and horizontal seams!
hey!!! loved your pattern. But I got a question. can we make a bigger version of this? Instead of making 13 granny squares can we make more of squares and make it bigger?
Thanks for the love! To make the bag bigger, you can use thicker yarn or make each granny square bigger by adding more rounds! My tank top pattern has extra rounds written out for the same granny square 👍🏻
Just wondering about the yarn needle ? Is it an embroidery needle? I have made all 13 squares, but I'm unsure how to proceed... do I tie one strand of yarn into the needle and start whip stitching?
I use a bent tip tapestry needle to sew the squares together - you can see the link in the materials section of the pattern (free on my blog)! You can thread the yarn through the needle, leave some of the end sticking out (which you will later weave in), and then start whip stitching 👍🏻
Hello and thank you for the video. When using only one color do you cut the yarn between the different steps or is it possible to continue with the same color without cutting the yarn?
You’re very welcome! When you’re using only one color, you do not need to cut the yarn as you can continue using it round by round! You can follow the same instructions, just note that when finishing Round 3, you can slip stitch to the next ch-3 space and then begin Round 4.
Thanks for your feedback ❤️ That’s amazing how you’re on your third bag - thank you for always referencing the video. Some of my pattern testers made linings for their bags!
Thanks so much for your feedback and kind words! You can find all the exact yardage amounts for both the single colored and multi colored bag in my blog post (link in the description box)!
Hi there! I used 2 skeins of the main color (but I used up almost both skeins, so I would get a 3rd skein just to be safe in case your tension is different than mine), 1 skein of the petal color and 1 skein of the center color! You can see the exact yardage info in my blog post/pattern!
Most likely one of your stitches is being covered by your corner stitches! If you pull back some of the corner stitches, you’ll probably see a stitch, and that is the one that needs to be skipped!
0:14 Hello, thanks a lot, your bag will be m'y next project ! I have a question regarding the yarn : i dont have access to the Lion's ones infortunately because the shipping fees are horribly expressive to France. Do you suggest me to take as you a yarn which is recomanding on the label to use a 4mm Hook as the Lion's ones, or to go straight to a thinner yarn as you are using smaller hooks ? Thanks 🤗🤗
Have you checked out the LoveCrafts website? They carry 24/7 Cotton, so I know a lot of Europeans order through there 👍🏻 I would try and match the thickness of the yarn if you want to use a different yarn - there is a website called “yarnsub” that lists recommendations!
Thank you so much for the amazing video! For the top edging and strap, if I inadvertently did round 2 without chain 85 (did waistcoat stitch all around), is it okay to keep as is and repeat round 2 again?
I used 100% mercerized cotton for this bag! You can look up charts online that show how the different yarn weights translate to ply. I used worsted weight level 4 yarn, but it’s on the lighter side so I think it would be between an 8-10 ply 🧶
Hello! I finally decided to make this bag. I usually don't make granny squares but this pattern looks really easy to follow and the final project is beautiful! The thing is, the first granny square I made is bigger than expected (14 cm). I think is because I'm using Aran and the one that you recommend is worsted (?). Do you think it will look good? I mean, if I keep doing this, I'll end up with a bigger bag, but that's it, right? Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!
I’m so happy to hear that you’re making this bag! 💖 Yes if your granny squares are bigger, your overall bag will be bigger as well! If you’re fine with a bigger bag, then you can go ahead! People have definitely adjusted the yarn size to change the finished bag size in this pattern ☺️
I typically like to keep that last yarn end of the granny square and weave them in after all the seaming has been complete! But you could weave that yarn end in whenever you want 😊
If you like the shape of the bag, the easiest way to make it bigger is to make each granny square bigger by adding more rounds! If you add more squares, you would need to figure out another orientation and layout which might change the shape of the bag!
Hi! I have been trying to make this since yesterday :) I have a question: with the petals, you start with crocheting until you have 4 loops, the second 'petal' is 5 loops. Are all the next petals 5 loops? Or do you do 4-5-4-5 etc.? Hope you can help!
Heeeelllppppp!!!! I haven’t finished a granny square yet, I keep taking it apart, redoing it and getting stopped up on the same part. Round 6 when you have to skip each stitch, I have an uneven amount of stitches and I can’t do the one before the corner stitch without skipping 2. I’m following the round before it so closely and I’ve done it a bunch of times but still end up with the same problem. What is going on?!!
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out - have you been referencing the written crochet pattern on my blog too (free pattern)? I would make sure you have the correct number of stitches in Round 5 so that the set up for Round 6 is correct!
You can see the exact yardage required for each color listed in the materials section of the pattern! You can find the free crochet pattern on my blog (link in description of this video) 💖
I'm a bit confused @AllAboutAmiBlog, There is a conflicting instruction between the online pattern and the video when it comes to the first chain 3 and then dc when adding in the 3rd color. On the online pattern it says that the first chain 3 counts as a DC and to do 2 DC then CH 3 then 3 DC, in this pattern you are doing the chain three and then 2 additional DC at the start. thank you
Hi there! That’s right - both are the same! When adding in the third color, you chain 3 to start (which counts as 1 dc), then work 2 dc, chain 3 (forms the chain space) and then 3 dc. These are the corner stitches!
Just to confirm for round 6, I am supposed to skip a stitch for each dc, EXCEPT for the one right before the corner stitches, right? Also, do you just weave in the very last yarn tail of the square? Or should I leave that until I weave my squares together?
Yes there will be spaces between the double crochets (you chain 1 in between) and you skip the stitch right after the corner stitches. You can either weave in that final end right away or leave it and weave it in after all the squares have been seamed together!
@@AllAboutAmiBlog Thank you for your response! You mentioned in the tutorial that whenever seaming the squares together, the wrong side of the squares should be facing out (so the seams are hidden). Does that mean when I am using yarn strand 2 and 3 to join the sides after folding it upwards, I should turn the bag inside out to sew the sides?
Fantastic tutorial. So clear and concise. My yarn is arriving today and I am excited to start. This will be the first bag I have made, but if it turns out anything like yours, I am sure it will not be my last. Thank you for sharing this lovely design.
You’re very welcome, Tracey! Thanks so much for your encouragement and feedback! I hope you enjoy crocheting your bag - that’s so exciting how it’ll be your first bag 🙌🏻
Your tension might be tighter, so it’s coming out smaller. Try loosening your hold or increase hook size and see if either of those tips work. Good luck, I’m about to start as well.
Your tension is probably different than mine! As the other commenter suggested, you can try loosening your tension or move up a hook size if you want your squares to be the same size as mine. You can continue going with your 4x4 squares too - just keep in mind that your overall finished bag will be smaller than my final dimensions!
I ordered the same yarn in the same colours. I LOVE this bag. I made quite a few of those bags but, not yet with a daisy granny square. Those colours spoke to me. So beautiful.
@@AllAboutAmiBlog Those colours are so very beautiful. I already finished 4 squares. And yes, the yarn is wonderful to crochet with. The best cotton yarn I have ever used. I will be sewing a lining in my bag so it won't stretch too much. I can not wait to get it finished. Will you be uploading more tutorials?
You can wet block your work by fully submerging the squares in water and then pinning them onto foam mats to dry. You could also use a spray bottle to spray water at the squares/bag. I have also seen people put water in a bowl and then just flick water at their work with their fingers!
Tipps an alle Deutschen 😊 Ich hatte Schwierigkeiten die richtige Wolle zu finden. Das hier hat für mich geklappt: -Taupe: jeweils 3 Rollen, je 50g (100m) (Da stand noch das hier. Keine ahnung was das bedeutet (10X10 CM , 22M; 28R) ) 80% Bambus 20% Baumwolle. Habe ich bei Tedox gefunden für je 2,50€ - weiß: da habe ich eine halbe Rolle gebraucht. Also ca. 25g.
Hi! I know that you added this video year ago, but i will be glad if you will answer me! Can i use different type of the yarn? Maybe any macrame rope? In my country i can't get this type of yarn, i am begginer so i dont know what i can use to crochet this bag 😢
Yes you can substitute any yarn you want! The final dimensions and overall look might differ, but you can definitely experiment with yarns that are available to you locally 🧶👍🏻
Have nearly finished the outside part of straps. I would like to make my straps wider, do I just follow your strap instructions but add more rows? I am very happy with my bag so far. Thanks for the great video.
Hello! I just started crocheting last week and I bought a med (4) worsted milk cotton yarn but it looks too bulky compared to yours. I can't even close the yellow magic ring fully. Is yarn thickness different for types of yarn? 😢😢😢
That’s amazing how you started crocheting last week! Yeah, there can be different thicknesses even within the same yarn type. I would say that 24/7 Cotton (the yarn I used) is in the thinner side of worsted weight, so it probably is thinner compared to the one you are using!
@@AllAboutAmiBlog Thank you sm!! I never knew even having the same weight of yarn could still change the size of the project. I might skip the last round of the squares so my bag don't swallow me lol.
love this video it looks zo cute but while i was making my granny square i was thinking when you start like the white part your first cluster you doing 4 loops and in the second one 5 but how does it go to the end, is it like 1,3,... clusters 4 loops and 2,4... 5 loops or is it one time 4 and all the other ones 5 loops? because i was like stuck on the video
Hi there! Only the very first cluster differs because it is the beginning cluster - you need to work it differently to bring the stitches to that height! The subsequent clusters of the round are all the same from then on (5 loops)! You can reference the written pattern on my blog for more clarification too 👍🏻
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Its amazing. I'm trying this right now. I have just one question: I'm currently whipstitching the squares together, with the wrong side facing me. When I start with the top edging and strap, do I still have te "wrong" side facing me or should I turn the back inside out? Again, thank you so much!
To begin the whip stitching, you can insert your needle into two stitches: rather than pulling all the way through, leave some yarn tail so you can weave it in later on. Then continue whip stitching as normal. Leave a final tail too so you can weave that in as well! I like to anchor and lock the final and initial tails by tying knots too.
Great question! When whip stitching, you need to cut strands of yarn that are not attached to the skein. If you reference my written pattern, I tell you exactly how many strands you need and how long each strand should be! I have a diagram that illustrates how you should whip stitch all the squares together!
@@AllAboutAmiBlogthank you! I was just about to comment this same question and found the answer while scrolling through the comments. I’m so excited to Seam my squares together!

Both of your tutorials for lining crochet bags are so helpful and clear. Thank you for sharing them.
I haven’t posted any tutorials for lining crochet bags, so those videos might be by a different creator! That’s good to know that there are good tutorials out there though 👍🏻
That's funny, especially as I'd probably do that myself!
I’m so exited to finish this bag, I’m only doing one color though because I kinda suck at switching colors (aka I’m just clueless)😅😅
I love using one color too - I think it looks so elegant 🩷 Love how there are fewer ends to weave in too 😆 Excited for you to finish your bag too!
Just made my first granny square ever watching this video! So beginner friendly, thank you so much!!! 🧶
Leaving this here for my own future reference, since I’ll be doing this at least 12 more times 😅

Congrats on making your first granny square 🙌🏻 Thank you for your kind feedback about my video tutorial!
Thank you for wonderful tutorial! It is clear and thorough 😆 picked up my hooks again after 8 years of not crocheting, I finished one square already only 12 more to go 😅 thank you again for this awesome pattern and tutorial! ❤❤
That’s so wonderful to hear!!! Congrats on finishing one square, and great job diving back into crocheting again! Thanks for your wonderful feedback 💕
Do I have to make the waistcoat stich at the Straps?
Btw very good tutorial THANK YOU ❤
Thanks for your kind words! You don’t have to use the waistcoat stitch - you can use regular single crochets!

What is the size of the granny square in inches ?
Each granny square is: 5” (12.7 cm) x 5” (12.7 cm) 👍🏻
Yes some people have chosen to stick with single crochets! Love how you can adjust the strap length to your liking 👍🏻

Thanks so much for asking 🩷 Yes you have my permission to sell your finished products online! Hope you have a wonderful Europe trip next June!
Hi there! Yes that’s right - only the beginning cluster is different from the rest of the clusters! ☺️
@@AllAboutAmiBlog Thank you so much for responding. I appreciate you. 🥰☺️
Do you recommend adding a bag liner? If so, what should I purchase?
Some of my pattern testers lined their bags with fabric! Since I don’t have too much experience sewing, I use a bag organizer insert to instantly add zipper closure and compartments. I bought mine on Amazon, and the brand is called “Periea” (the medium size fits in this bag)!
This is now my favorite bag to make, thanks for the tutorial!! ❤
I’m so happy to hear that 🥰 You’re very welcome ❤️
I feel I learn so much with you. This is a beautiful bag. Can't wait to crochet it :) Thanks for sharing :)
You’re very welcome 💖 Thank you for your very kind words and support!
I have 12 of the 12 squares and I'm so close to finishing this but I'm wondering should we block these before sewing or just sew as it is?
You’re very welcome 💖 I’m so glad you found this helpful! Enjoy combining your squares into beautiful bags 🙌🏻
I just finished my tote. I love it!!! Thank you so much for the pattern/tutorial 💗
Congrats on finishing!!! You’re very welcome 💖

You’re very welcome ❤️ Thanks so much for your wonderful feedback! I’m so glad you found it easy to follow 🥰 I’ll go check out your bag!
@@AllAboutAmiBlog thank you!
Made it! Love it! Perfect easy pattern. Thankyou!!!❤
You’re very welcome 🩷 Thanks for your wonderful feedback!
Very clear and easy to follow. I'm pleased I found you, and I liken your talent to that of 'Hooked By Robin' as she is also very clear and easy to follow! x
Aww that means so much, thank you for your very kind feedback! I greatly appreciate it ❤️
So very beginner friendly.
Thank you!

Can i use 3.50 hook instead?
If you use a 3.5 mm hook, your squares might turn out a bit smaller 🧶 If you are okay with your overall bag being a bit smaller, you can go ahead and use it!
I'm a tiny bit confused. Round 5 here is made of double crochet. In the purchased pattern version, it is made of half-double crochet.
Aww enjoy making this bag when you’re ready!!! Thanks for your kind words 💖
Hello! I am wondering if i can use a 3.5 mm hook instead and if so, what size yarn for it?
I used a 3.75 mm hook for my bag (with worsted weight yarn) so you could still use a 3.5 mm hook with worsted weight yarn!
@@AllAboutAmiBlogOkay that's great! Thank you!!
Hiii i would love to make this one ..the tutorial is do cleaar and it seems easy ...please just tell me the final measurements of the bag

It is such a pretty top . May I ask what sort of yarn or threads do you used and one size? Can I use Aunt Lydia crochet thread size 10 or 5 . Thanks
Thank you so much! For the tank top I used worsted weight level 4 yarn called 24/7 Cotton! ❤️
Following your tutorial what will be the chest size of this garment? Than you😊
You can see the bust dimensions in the written pattern (free on my blog)! I’ve written out the pattern for 8 different sizes (Small - 5X) ❤️
hey!!! loved your pattern.
I'm just skipping through this video. It's so detailed and well made that I can't wait to make it. I would love a handmade bag
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback and support 🥰 Enjoy making your bag!
How big are the squares and how wide is the bag? Thanks
How big are the squares and how wide is the bag? Thanks
Gracias!!! Explicas CLARAMENTE !! Y tu trabajo es tan elegante y prolijo!!! SUPER!!
Thank you sooo much 🥰 I appreciate your very kind words and feedback! ❤️
I just found your channel; this bag looks so beautiful! Did you use 100% cotton yarn?
Thanks so much ❤️ Yes I used 100% mercerized cotton for this bag design ☺️
Thank you. Great tutorial. I am on my third bag and every time I go back to the video. Did anyone make a lining bag for inside this bag?
Thanks for your feedback ❤️ That’s amazing how you’re on your third bag - thank you for always referencing the video. Some of my pattern testers made linings for their bags!
Thank you so much. Both the bag and the tutorial are awesome ❤
How much yarn did you use please?
Thanks so much for your feedback and kind words! You can find all the exact yardage amounts for both the single colored and multi colored bag in my blog post (link in the description box)!
You are such a good teacher! It's a joy to watch your instructions. I have ordered material to this bag! Thanks in advance! ❤

How many yarn you use to make that bag?
You can check out all the yardage information in my crochet pattern 💕 It’s free on my blog (I also have a PDF for purchase in my Etsy shop)!
@@AllAboutAmiBlog thanks 💕
How many skeins of yarn do you need of each color? Thank you
Hi there! I used 2 skeins of the main color (but I used up almost both skeins, so I would get a 3rd skein just to be safe in case your tension is different than mine), 1 skein of the petal color and 1 skein of the center color! You can see the exact yardage info in my blog post/pattern!
I’m so confused in the first row where we skip the stitch and then do 3dc 3chain 3dc, if I skip the stitch there’s only 9 and I’m so confused
Most likely one of your stitches is being covered by your corner stitches! If you pull back some of the corner stitches, you’ll probably see a stitch, and that is the one that needs to be skipped!
Beautiful...Thank you so much❤️👍
You’re very welcome 💖 Thank you for your kind words 🥰
You’re welcome! I think it should be okay if you do that 👍🏻
Hy im a beginner and not familiar with yarn weight. What size or how many ply of yarn did u use? And what material is that? Is cotton milk ok? X
I used 100% mercerized cotton for this bag! You can look up charts online that show how the different yarn weights translate to ply. I used worsted weight level 4 yarn, but it’s on the lighter side so I think it would be between an 8-10 ply 🧶
guess who just finished their bagggggg! Thank you so much for the tutorial!
Yayyy that’s so awesome 🙌🏻 Congrats on finishing ❤️
How much yarn did it take?
i think 2 of the yarn balls she libked
Love the tutorial, but I keep ending up with 13 SC when i finish my second round, where am i going wrong? Thanks x
You can check out my video called “Troubleshooting the Crochet Daisy” to see how to count your stitches for that part!
Hey, I have a question. Can I cut off that last white end after a while, or will it be needed for something?
I typically like to keep that last yarn end of the granny square and weave them in after all the seaming has been complete! But you could weave that yarn end in whenever you want 😊
@@AllAboutAmiBlog thank you so much!
I was wondering can I make the bag bigger if I make more squares? If it is so how should I place them?
If you like the shape of the bag, the easiest way to make it bigger is to make each granny square bigger by adding more rounds! If you add more squares, you would need to figure out another orientation and layout which might change the shape of the bag!
Hi! I have been trying to make this since yesterday :) I have a question: with the petals, you start with crocheting until you have 4 loops, the second 'petal' is 5 loops. Are all the next petals 5 loops? Or do you do 4-5-4-5 etc.? Hope you can help!
That’s awesome how you’ve been working on this! You only do 4 loops for the beginning cluster! For the rest of the regular clusters, you do 5 loops!
@@AllAboutAmiBlog Thank you! Very excited to work on this project :)
Oh my gosh I just made my first ever bag thanks for this tutorial so much!!!!

Thank you so much for this pattern, my bag turned out stunning 🥰
You’re very welcome! So happy to hear your bag turned out so well 🩷 Thanks for commenting!
Can I do single crochet instead of the waistcoat stitch. I can't get my needle in there. I use different yarn. Maybe that is the problem?
Yes you can definitely do single crochets instead of the waistcoat stitch! 😊
I’m using the same size hook and the cotton yarn, but my squares are only 4x4 instead of 5x5.
@@AllAboutAmiBlog thank you!

I ordered the same yarn in the same colours. I LOVE this bag. I made quite a few of those bags but, not yet with a daisy granny square. Those colours spoke to me. So beautiful.
I’m so glad you love the colors I used!!! ❤️ Isn’t it a wonderful yarn? So perfect for bags!
Can someone please tell me if there is any alternative to a steamer? 🙏🙏
You can wet block your work by fully submerging the squares in water and then pinning them onto foam mats to dry. You could also use a spray bottle to spray water at the squares/bag. I have also seen people put water in a bowl and then just flick water at their work with their fingers!
Tipps an alle Deutschen 😊
Ich hatte Schwierigkeiten die richtige Wolle zu finden. Das hier hat für mich geklappt:
-Taupe: jeweils 3 Rollen, je 50g (100m)
(Da stand noch das hier. Keine ahnung was das bedeutet (10X10 CM , 22M; 28R) )
80% Bambus 20% Baumwolle. Habe ich bei Tedox gefunden für je 2,50€
- weiß: da habe ich eine halbe Rolle gebraucht. Also ca. 25g.

Thank you soo much for sharing your tips! I appreciate your kind words and support 💖
@AllAboutAmiBlog your designs are stunning. I made sure to give you a positive review on etsy as well 🥰
How big are the squares in diameter? I think mine turned out too small😢
Hi there! My granny squares are: 5” (12.7 cm) x 5” (12.7 cm) ☺️
@@AllAboutAmiBlog thank you!
Have nearly finished the outside part of straps.
I would like to make my straps wider, do I just follow your strap instructions but add more rows?
I am very happy with my bag so far.
Thanks for the great video.
Yes you can add more rows to make the straps wider!
Hi! Could someone tell me how big is one of these granny square plzzz
Hi there! One granny square is: 5” (12.7 cm)x 5” (12.7 cm)!
@@AllAboutAmiBlog thank you!!
You can reference the written pattern on my blog for more clarification too 👍🏻
@@AllAboutAmiBlog thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Its amazing. I'm trying this right now.
I have just one question:
I'm currently whipstitching the squares together, with the wrong side facing me. When I start with the top edging and strap, do I still have te "wrong" side facing me or should I turn the back inside out?
Again, thank you so much!
You’re very welcome! That’s a great question - when you’re working on the top edging and strap, the right side should be facing you! 😊
@@AllAboutAmiBlog thank you so much 💓
How do you start and end the whipstitching? I’ve never done it before and am kind of confused
@@AllAboutAmiBlog Do I have to use yarn that is not still connected to the skein?
Great question! When whip stitching, you need to cut strands of yarn that are not attached to the skein. If you reference my written pattern, I tell you exactly how many strands you need and how long each strand should be! I have a diagram that illustrates how you should whip stitch all the squares together!
@@AllAboutAmiBlogthank you! I was just about to comment this same question and found the answer while scrolling through the comments. I’m so excited to Seam my squares together!
Lindaaaa ❤❤❤
Muchas gracias 🩷
Hi I was wondering how to fasten of at the end of the 12 sides in de middle ?
I like to weave those ends in after the granny squares have been seamed together! Then you can weave those final ends into the seams too 👍🏻
I love how she does it so slowly so it is easy to follow❤
Thank you sooo much for your feedback - I greatly appreciate it ❤️
wait is using like a checkered granny sauare work for the bag
Yes you could totally try that! ☺️🙌🏻
