Learned that the hard way as a young guy, it was only a joint bill paying account, I kept my own account and insisted she kept hers. She just about cleaned it out when out with her gaggle and drunk because she had put money in there so in her eyes it was her's. Of course her account was just about empty. Had to work another evening job to keep the wolves from the door. There was perpetual whining because I wouldn't give her what was in my account, didn't care that she ate because of that money, that was just boring. When I got paid from both my jobs I left half of the outstanding bill money, ditched her and moved in with friends across town. I had a great time, hadnt had so much money since I moved in with her, it definitely wasn't "boring".

I doubt he would see a single dime in a settlement. If she took from a joint account and her name is on it, technically she can legally take whatever she wants from it for whatever purpose she desires by law. That's why you don't put any more money than needed into a joint account to pay off bills , etc...and you monitor the accounts for anything wrong.
How I would handle it is to snoop around and see if she has a hidden account and try to find the password and transfer the stolen money back into the joint, and then back into mine. Without her knowing. Then I would give her divorce papers.

They are fine anyway. Once trust is destroyed it’s almost impossible to get it back. She’s being sly and lying by omission and stealing money for herself. She’s leaving anyway. He should get a private detective in her she’s probably having an affair.

No matter how much she whines and cries and complains
DO NOT LET HER HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT
    and
no matter how much she says it hurts her feelings that you don't trust her
GET A PATERNITY TEST BEFORE YOU SIGN A BIRTH CERTIFICATE
    Her feelings are hurt?
Weigh that against having your life's work stolen, or being forced to pay 18 years for a child you find out you didn't make.
DO NOT FALL FOR THE WATERWORKS
if she threatens to leave, she'd be doing you a favor.

The last girl was a perfect example of today's society. So many know the buzz words and the key words and tricky phrases, but they don't really understand them. When you challenge them, they either go deranged trying to argue both sides or they go silent as they start to recognize they are screwed up.

There is no 50/50 in a marriage. If one spouse puts in 50% and the other spouse puts in 50%, that marriage only produces 50% worth. Not 100%. The average for that marriage is 50%. 50% each simply means that both spouses have half their bodies outside of the marriage. They are not acting as a whole marital unit. Only when both spouses contribute 100% each do we see a marital unit of one working together as a whole.
This 50-50 is nonsense as they're both looking towards divorce. You never give half and expecting 100% as a marriage. That is insane!!!

Every week, I tell guys that the woman that tells him they love him, and sleeps with him, *will* be his enemy later. the probability is over 60%, and women lost their souls. Something snapped in modern women. It's bizarre. You can see this *all* day, on many platforms, and with friends. It's not a small anomaly. I suppose that feminism won, and destroyed marriage. My wife was born in Shanghai, and the difference with her and her friends, vs our US friends is stark. My close buddies are in Russia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The difference in culture is shocking. A Western woman seems to be the maturity level of a nine year old, and cant even cook. LOL Well, here we are. I'll be back in Malaysia in four months. I'm staying there. Keep your eyes open, brothers.
