This video was a good reminder for me to stop pixel peeping. I came in here ready to look at every dark corner to see how much noise I could detect, and I was quickly immersed in the pleasant visuals and tone of the video. I forgot all about ISO and just enjoyed seeing the foreign streets and night time ambience. It turns out that these little dancing specs of grain have a lot less impact on the experience than I might have thought.
This is really a toxic positivity comment. If you own this camera you need to acknowledge the bad noise coming from the camera. Because sometimes later we will have a client who do pixel peeping. What will you say if the client say something about the noise? I believe they will notice it first before event notice the good composition of the video
@YOGINWIDHI you're wedging my comment into your own narrow perspective within corporate commercial work. I never said anything about a client, I described my experience with watching the video from a creative perspective. The assumption that everyone is buying this camera to serve a client is short sighted. Some of us will shoot with this camera simply to serve our own creative expression, and calling people who think that way "toxic" is its own kind of poison.
I'm the same. This, and other footage has me pretty much convinced. Just priced out doing the swap. I have other stills cameras so don't really care about that side. 4 input audio also big for me.
I'd love to download the actual footage to bypass youtube compression and see how's the noise ( I assume neat video is necessary tho, even watching on youtube ) 10000 iso is noisy but very pleasant like old red cameras ( but that's could be a little help from youtube compression again )
Personally depends on what lens you have have how much natural light you have. For me it have use as niche light as possible to reduce the grain. V-log pushes a lot of grain for some reason. But depeinf on your iso you can reduce it too. The Gh6 takes a lot of playing around with it.
Is there a way to turn off or disable the red "recording" light on the front of the camera? I don't mean the focus assist light, but the recording indicator light that comes on when recording starts. It's very bright, and could be very distracting and could bring unwanted attention when recording in lower light or on the street or in pubic. I've looked through the menu, but I didn't see an option. But I'm hoping that I just overlooked it. My GH4 didn't have that light, so it's new to me. And yes, I do know that there's always the black electrical tape option.

Well, assuming that they don't have a search facility built right into that...)
better than gh5, worse than gh5s (much worse) if you have gh5s but if you already have gh5s it is not worth upgrading. A real upgrade is to Sony, Canon or Nikon Z
@@youtubetech7995 Don't forget you are looking at the ProRes capture, they employ less aggressive noise reduction in ProRes and expect you to do NR in post when filming ProRes. When comparing apples to apples with both filming in h264 it's not "much worse". It's impressively similar but I didn't have the time to do a extended scientific test but even if the GH5s is still a tad better, it's an impressive achievement that there is even a comparison to be made.
someone on RUclips said the iso on Gh6 can be expanded until 25.000 iso - could you please make a test with 25.000 iso extended. I subscribed to your channel already so when you will make this test I will see it and important is to put it in the title "25.000 iso test with GH6" so thousands of us come and see your video . Nobody make this 25.000 iso test yet .
Waiting for one of these companies to create some sort of AI Noise Eater (AINE) so we don’t have to have this problem anymore. I bet Apple does it. On the GH6, it seems as though it’s generally noisy, but useable up to 6400… and I suppose if you’re shooting in some degree of lighting in the environment it’s useable a little bit past that.
@@Newsshooter Thanks for the post. Wow, even more impressed now that I see you did not even use faster(sub2.8) lens. Only issue is the noise at high ISO in red channel. I wonder if FW can address that...please post similar footage with like a f/1.7 or f/1.2 if you can.
Thanks for the video. Impressive for a small sensor but way off a modern full frame like Nikon z6. If possible I’d love to see 240fps 1080p in the lower 200 Mbps quality daytime and nighttime , as I think those files would be about as big as my computer could handle.

Funny thing: Right now 99% of cameras on the market have amazing image quality.
@@TheBlakeEverhart"Assumption", the mother of all f*ck-ups. 😁
Thanks for the experience, love the music and Japan street shots :)
I'm watching on 4K screen and 5000 ISO looks totally usable
Yeah same. Looks totally fine. Impressive.
Oh my, really looks pretty good and clean in night lighting using ISO 5000. I like GH6 now.
Honestly I’d be comfortable using up to 12,800. I always have Neat Video to clean up a little if need be.
Looks totally useable. I'm thinking of buying a GH6 with the 10-25 because its the exact focal range I use with my fullfame camera.
I'm so happy I bought this camera. Now I just have to learn how to make shots look as good as yours!
I own the S5 but damn these shots look pretty clean at high isos

@mon mon eh.
It looks good with regards to low light performance. I think this is the first time I see MFT performing good at night. Cheers!
Check out the zcam e2m4. Iso 51200 in prores is still pretty good.
Really good looking. GH6 is all you need to shoot now :)
Low-light and noise seems much better on this GH6 than my GH5. 🤤🤤🤤
Can I know which lenses were you using please ? Thank you
The main thing i would like to see is how it compares to the GH5s. But still thanks a lot for these shots.
Yes my thoughts exactly
Looks great. Did you shoot wide open on your lens?
Looks great. Did you apply any noise reduction?
No
Domoarigatou gozaimasu! Great reference video. impressive
thats a clean image can barely see any noise
I would say the ISO performance is on par with Super35 now.
love the music so much, what music is this?

How would you say this camera is compared to the blackmagic 6k pro now?
i like that 5000 and maybe 6400 to make the scene a little more moody, but 5000 is nice
In your opinon would you consider this a truly reliable low light camera now?
Depends what you consider acceptable for shooting in low light. I found it acceptable up to 5000 ISO when using Dynamic Range Boost
I plan to use V-Log but is that profile recommended in low light? And what conversion LUT did you use?

How did you expose ? +1 ? +3 ?

that is really impressive. IS there a lot of noise reduction in post? Incredible.

Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. POWER O.I.S.

Amazed at how ckean it is even at 5000
Did you do any noise clean up to the footage??
No.
Hi. Did you have any light streaking issue on this shoot? I have my GH6 but scary to use it for my job because of that risk.
You can see the CMOS streaking on almost every clip. I didn't realise it was that bad until I saw this footage.
Looks so much better than the GH5 in low light, world of difference.
I have both. The GH6 has so much more noise reduction, resolution is not as good in low light.
Is the lowlight better than the GH5S?
Probably very similar

The 2 things people complaint about the most Panasonic did addressed which was fast focus and low lighting noise.
