Great to see you back out there, Valerie. What a location, one that could be risky in big swell 😮 Beautiful images and I loved the bloopers. I kept saying " Yep, I've done that " 😆 😅
Hi Colin, hope you've had a great weekend 😊 I really enjoy how dynamic the scenes there can be from one day to the next and yes, you definitely need to stay alert out there! 😅 I'm glad that even a seasoned photographer like yourself can relate to those very green, rookie mistakes! Wow Val!! Those shots were amazing! Loved all the detail and you've captured the light so well. I need more walls Val! I gotta have that last (second last) shot with the sunburst. Oh why are my walls so tiny!!!!???

Very nice pictures Valerie, I know how hard it is to leave a place, you keep saying you have to go but you keep finding new angles and views to try or see interesting things along the trail you want to check out on the way back to the car.

Hi Valerie, just wanted to say after another busy year, hope you and your hubby keep on enjoying the refreshing that nature brings, and that keeping the channel going is an enjoyable creative outlet. No need to feel pressure to conform to any expectations the social media world may introduce.. Hope you have an easy lead in to Christmas and can take some time off, keep well!
Hi Pieter, thanks so much for your lovely message 🙏💙 Can't believe that Xmas is about 3 weeks away, and the year is almost over. It hasn't been an ideal year for me, and I certainly would have loved to have had more time to 📸 and create content...hopefully that'll be possible next year. Yes, the YT algorithm can be punishing, and the need to stay on top of social media can add a level of pressure at times... Finding more time in our days remains an elusive goal! I hope you and your family have a wonderful and safe Xmas and holiday season, and 2024 is bigger and brighter in so many ways. Keep capturing special memories and being in the moment 😊👍🎄🥂🎆📸
Thanks Valerie, and good advice as always🙂Yes I don't want life to be that busy, that you don't spend enough quality time with those close to you, especially kids that grow up in a blink of an eye! Looking fwd to a short stint after Christmas in dark sky area for some astro shots, luckily my son has patience with my hobby 😅 He was on a trip in the Middle East (2 weeks before things turned bad there, literally drove through a corner of Gaza on a tour bus🙏) He took his first shots with a pocket waterproof Lumix I bought for $20 from a pawn shop. I've edited some lovely pics for him that he got at Petra 🐪and Masada. Hope it serves as an incentive for him😄 All the best and your work always serves as an inspiration!👏🗻🏝
I'm glad to hear that your son managed to avoid the horror there Pieter 🙏🤞 Hopefully he's home safe and sound now. And I'm also glad he's showing some interest in doing something that you love. Those photos will hold a lot of meaning for you both and I'm sure editing then was special. Have a fantastic time with your astro after the break and enjoy your time with those who make you smile 😊 Take care and stay in touch!
Thanks Valerie, yes very thankful he's OK and only has positive memories from his trip!🙏 I'm glad he got some wins with his camera 😊Looking fwd to experimenting more with astro! Keep well😊🎍✨
Yay Valerie! You've been able to get out again. That's so exciting. Rusty but not done in. Although that end bit where you were trying to get the camera mounted. . . . . I can appreciate that moment. Was great to see something of a lovely little spot and some of the images that can be captured from an area. Good on you.
Hi Denise, it was lovely to be back out capturing landscapes/seascapes again. I think the struggles of mounting the camera resonates with a number people 😆 I hope you're keeping well and squeezing in a good amount of 📸 . Thanks for your comments and it's always great to hear from you 🙏😊
Hi Brett, I hope all is well. It's a great location that can be both peaceful and thrilling at the same time 😊 Appreciate you watching and thanks for your comments 🙏👍📸
Hi Peter, it was really nice to be back out there capturing seascapes again 😊 Wow, someone must have sat at their desk all day yesterday, smashing that "like" button 😅 That is bizarre...
@@ValerieMisaPhotographyIt’s sooo strange, because if you hit the like button 10 times, you actually end up with no like (since each alternate hit ‘unlikes’ your last ‘like’). RUclips has been weird, lately. A few weeks ago, I lost a tonne of subscribers in a few minutes, then got them all back plus more a couple of hours later.
That's very strange - how did you figure out the "like" and "unlike" issue?! Sounds like you did a bit of experimenting 😄 I'm glad you got your subscribers back though Peter (and you're going strong on that front too - amazing and congrats!) But in all seriousness, YT have rolled out a number of updates and new features and I think there are glitches that need to be ironed out. Hopefully they figure it out soon. If there is one that increases the distribution of our videos, I'm all for that! 😅
@@ValerieMisaPhotography LOL - me, too! I figured this out a couple of years ago. Each click on the like button alternates between like and 'unlike'. I can see the linked on this video have returned to 'normal'. I think you're right re recent clitches. The other day, every video I looked at had zero views.
It's so lovely to see you back again, Valerie. (I saw your previous and clip and said that, but old age got the better of me and I forgot to hit "Enter"!) And at Pulpit Rock - a place that enthralls and scares me in equal amounts. To that end I got myself an personal locator beacon because I'm often on my own when photographing locations like this, and as I told my children, when I'm washed out to sea after a snake has bitten me on my broken leg, the authorities can find me. 😁I think that low tide is the best time to photograph this - I've been there a couple of times when it was high tide, and I've found the seas intimidating. When next I return, I'll try to time it for low tide. Really enjoyed the drone footage of this marvelous formation - I didn't know it was volcanic in origin, but that makes sense. It's such a glorious walk down and tortuous one back up. I tried counting the steps once and I think I hit 382.
Hi Mick, really nice to hear from you 🙂 The locator beacon sounds great and I'll have to look into it some more. But I'd much prefer it if it never has to be used, so sticking to low tide out there is the way to go! 😄 The waves are high tide can be intimidating - I keep thinking a slip on the edge and I'll be washed out to sea...but I do want to deep dive into those rock pools! I'm glad to hear that you're familiar with Pulpit Rock - it is a lovely walk down there and strolling along the rocky foreshore itself. I can't believe you counted the steps 😅 that's a lot less than a thousand but it feels like that many! Thanks for your comments and I hope you enjoy the rest of your week 🙏👍📸
@@ValerieMisaPhotography thanks for the kind words. Re the PLB - they work out at $1 per week which is great insurance, and yes, I hope mine goes unused.
Very nice Valerie, looked like a great outing. Having full reflections on the water, or see through transparency, or a mix of both all makes for great scenes👍Also liked the drone videos! More of those pls if you can squeeze them in😁

Hello Ken, hope all is well with you and it's always so nice to hear from you 🙏🙂 It's good to know that you empathise with my struggles! Ultimately, my research pointed to the latter edging out the former (slightly sharper at the edges and at closer distance, less vignetting and handles flares better). Factor in the fact I could get it for over $1k cheaper, and it was a winner for me! I've had no issues so far using it with the EF-RF adapter🤞 Enjoy your 📸 this week Ken!
