The thing about Fatal that really gets me isn't the horrible things you can do in it, it's the amount of ways the game seems to try to force you into it. So many spells are just "This player is now a horrible person". It feels like the dev really wanted to make sure no one could weasel their way out of their "adult themes"
I mean the character creation tends to do that itself. There are barely any rules to the stuff a TTRPG actually centers around. Look up combat rules for FATAL. I'm not joking. The character creation is entirely mechanically defined, but actually using it is barely explained at all. It doesn't even tell you how movement or weapon ranges work.
if you fail a grapple, you can accidentally SA your opponent, which could be lethal depending on what you're packing. Against your will. The creator just really had it out for the concept of consent, huh?
You know im still shocked that someone looked at the concept of character customization in rpgs and went "lets just make it all random and out if your control"
It’s like they wanted to consider as much character creation as possible but make sure it’s all enforced through dice rolls. You don’t want to determine your characters eye color or bust size? Too bad. Game says you do. In fact, game says you can’t decide it. Now roll the dice for three hours and have a spreadsheet ready to make your character.
Haven’t even watched the video and I immediately knew you were talking about FATAL, the “””game””” of all time. It doesn’t even serve its intended use as a system that allows players to act out sexually assaulting other people since the randomly generated characters have like a 50% chance of being unable to live in society or being straight up killed. Its best feature is that casting a spell has a chance to misfire and cast FATAL instead, a spell that immediately destroys the entire game universe and mercifully saves the players from playing it.
I am actually trying to come up with a defense here and I literally only have one. Say you need to do a quest or something but the people who are giving you the quest don’t like employed people?
Some more things about FATAL that need to be pounted out for just how bad it is: -One of the creators is known for having a very...interesting personal life, but one thing he apparently does is make dummy accounts on websites that talk about his game negatively and try to defend the game while pretending to not be the creator (namely by attacking the people bashing his game). However he often gives away too much detail and is called out by others for that -The game's level progression system is so horribly unbalanced that it's possible for certain characters to die of old age before they even reach Level 2 -One of the effects on the spell miscast table makes you cast the spell called "FATAL". Yes, the spell is indeed named after the game. What does this spell do? It ends the world, literally. Nevermind trying to find out how - in lore - someone discovered this spell or what it does, but the fact that it exists at all is hilarious. It's also probably the miscast you're going to want the most anyway.
From a lot of digging, I found a 10 year old reddit post on r/boardgames of a review of Oneupmanship by Tom Vasel where one comment stated that there had at one point been a disclaimer on the website that the Bitter Pills were (most likely) breath mints. The disclaimer stated: Seriously, the "Bitter Pills" are the only things that actually should be swallowed - they are breath mints (for the intelligent), but have no obvious medicinal value whatsoever. They are not sugar (or irony) free, and may have come into contact with nuts. As a matter of fact, we know they have. Still no nutritional information or ingredients list however

I think a cool video idea (if you want to) would be to cover the different versions and variations of Monopoly, both because it's commonly seen as the "stereotypical board game" by most non-board game players, but because of how different the Monopoly formula has been portrayed over the years, such as with Longest Game Ever or Gamer, or how fundamentally flawed the game is, such as Cheater's Edition or Ms. Monopoly.
even properly simulating WWB is basically impossible because of the inability for true randomness in a computer simulation. You have to go deep into computer science in order to come up with the best approximation of it which I think makes the game even more beautiful

Hammerhead's games are morally disgusting Campaign For North Africa is just impossible to finish Diplomat Co's games are literally illegal and can kill you FATAL however takes the biscuit. It's the most morally disgusting game ever created (beating out Hammerhead) AND is extremely long to finish like North Africa. At least for every single other game they don't have sexual assault as a CENTRAL MECHANIC. Adultery comes close, but at least the actual adultery both players consent to. Not to mention the creator's behavior...just eugh. If FATAL was in the worst board game competition, RPS wouldn't make it to the grand finals and Adultery wouldn't take the gold medal
