    Thank you for making a video specifically for this question, although I already got the answer and finished it two days after asking you. But seeing the video explaining the process, I really feel very cool!!!!

      No problem, wish I answer for you sooner. Either way I'm glad to hear you were able to successfully import the device to your lab. Happy labbing :)

    Thanks for the help. It worked like charm. The only issue I have is that devices are not powering on even though the hardware resources that I gave is 8 gb of ram and 4 core but the switch is not powering ON. What do you think the problem lies??? And the VM i gave is 13 gb of RAM and 12 cores

      Nice, I’ve also encountered that issue. Try running the EVE-NG fix permissions command, then left click the device in EVE-NG and select wipe. If that doesn’t work for you, try installing a different version the vEX switch for better luck

      hey ! vEX is not currently supported in EVE-NG Virtual Machine, since vEX is also using a nested environment, hence is recommended to use EVE-NG bare metal. I think @jongreenit is using a bare metal one.

      Thank you for posting such a useful tutorial. As mentioned here, me also having a similar issue when powering up the Junos Vex switch. Any tips you could throw on my way, would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hey, actually this works. The problem is that this switch takes so long to boot on normal laptops and is so resource hungry that it is useless. I was unable to boot it at all.

    • @jongreenit
      @jongreenit  9 месяцев назад

      Yeah the vEX is pretty resource intensive

    good stuff. The only issue I'm running into is when attempting to git pull in icons folder. Get permission denied and I've tried all keygen methods in articles I could find

      Not sure what I did but reinstalling iso, it's now showing up without having to try this. Thanks

      I was about to ask which icons weren’t importing properly but glad to hear re-installing corrected the issue

    I installed vEX according to all the steps outlined in the first video and this one. However, when I attempt to start the vEX switch it shows the icon turn blue, the play icon shows, and I get the notification saying "vEX: Started" but then two seconds later it goes back to gray.
    Any ideas?

    • @jongreenit

      Hmm yeah I've had this happen to me when I initially installed it. In my findings it could be one of two things. 1) there's not enough resources available on your PC like cpu/ram. 2) the vEX doesn't do well with nested virtualization so installing this in VMware workstation on a PC may cause issues. It's recommended to install in a bare metal sever environment for best performance.

      @@jongreenit It is bare metal. Issue was a simple one, I had not turn on SVM for the instances. Once I added that as a qemu line, they booted up just fine.

      @MicahMesser OK nice, good to hear you were able to resolve the issue. Thanks for sharing the fix.

    Hi Jon, thank you for your videos.
    Did you try installing vJunos in GNS3 as well by any chance?

    • @jongreenit
      @jongreenit  5 месяцев назад

      Hey John, unfortunately I have not tried that as I haven't used the GNS3 platform for a few years now. If I find myself going back I'll put together a vid.

      @@jongreenit thx, do you happen to know why i cant ping Apstra from my local pc? Apstra gets an IP from my local network, it can ping google and default gateway but not my local pc, and cos of this i cannot log into Apstra thru the browser. I use the Cloud like you show in the video.

    • @jongreenit
      @jongreenit  5 месяцев назад

      @johnstem5538 I know trying to ping your PC from Apstra won't work in some cases because of the windows firewall you can try disabling that

    Thanks for sharing this video. I also have the problem that this switch takes so long to boot on, My laptop has I9 and 32BG RAM, but it still takes me almost one hour to boot it up, have any idea how to speed it up?

      Odd indeed, are you still encountering this issue? How many resources do you have allocated to EVE-NG?

    I followed every part of your instuction, but I can't see any interfaces (ge-) on my switch..what do you think I have done wrong?

    • @jongreenit
      @jongreenit  Год назад

      It may take a moment for the interfaces to show up after booting the device. May share the output of “show interface terse”.

    • @galacticdong4125
      @galacticdong4125 9 месяцев назад

      Can confirm I also don't see the ge- interfaces. xEX still lets me apply config to said interfaces, but cannot ping them and they never show, not even in 'show interface terse'. I have read somewhere that apparently the vEX don't like EVE-NG unless installed on bare metal :( still trying to work out what the problem is and if I find an answer I'll come back and put it here! @@jongreenit
