Bible teacher Les Feldick always said, " You can't legislate morality." And in your book you correctly allude to the fact that jesus never came to force his laws and obedience to him upon people Or through earthly magistrates
Thank you for listing up the chapters of your book, it sounds very promising! I love how you don't only seem to look at the issues that are hard for many Christians to decide on or that stir up a lot of controversy, moral questions and emotions. Instead, you look at how those issues are used in politics, which I think is very smart and important. You are so right, I think many politicians really don't have an interest in truly solving those problems, as long as they serve them in getting support/ voters. I think the abortion issue is so extremely (mis) used in politics here in the US for example, I haven't seen anything like this in other countries (I am originally from Europe, now living in the US). So I'm really looking forward to your thoughts on this. Thank you so much, I think you give great guidance for us all!

I recommend your book to my pastor of 17 yrs and he is also reading and enjoying it . Politics is never preached from the pulpit in my church and I appreciate that . God bless you for writing this book .
Thanks Pat for the very fine video and message. A message of truth. All of Trump's promises, threats and imagined power are only temporal. He can offer nothing else. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. Not the other way around. All that is material and of this world simply cannot co-exist or have any worth whatsoever in the spiritual realm.
Thanks Pat. You are spot on 🎯💯. The onus is on us, Christian, to stand on the cardinal truth (The Word of God, as written in The Holy Bible). Current political climate is most challenging to any true Christian. It helps to stand in front of the mirror (The Holy Bible) to see who we are and are not. That's how we are helped to find a way back to The Way of Jesus Christ, our LORD.
Thank you so much for providing the clarity we all need to clearly understand-- and communicate-- this very important truth. There is SO much distraction going on, and nobody seems to be able to get people's attention in order to help them see the truth that is before everyone's eyes. I will share your channel whenevery I see an opportuinty.
As I see things, some Christians for a few decades have been so hungry to acquire the power they felt they needed to win the fights they felt they needed to fight (Roe vs Wade) and were willing to do whatever it took to get that power and win that fight. Even if it meant making compromises in the process. In a way those Christians resemble a hungry Esau trading his birthright for stew. How stew-pid! They are trading something valuable like the witness of the Church in for a right now victory to satisfy their stomach. They may not regret it now, but they will regret that horrible trade in the future.
I’m a Christian living in Europe and bemused by the situation in the US. I am baffled as to how Christians can think that it’s a good idea to support Mr Trump. Surely we only have to listen to him ?? I’m also bemused by the “pro-life“ ideas. Isn’t there some inconsistency in being violently opposed to abortion, but supporting gun ownership and capital punishment? It seems that an unborn child is very valuable, but that value vanishes when the child is born.
As a retired Lutheran pastor, I've never preached or taught politics to congregations I've served in 50 years of ministry. A congregation is often comprised of members on both sides of the political isle. So, I am faced with a dilemma: Do I offend one side or the other by offering my opinion or do I simply and clearly present the Gospel of Jess Christ as the way to everlasting life? St. Paul offers me concise guidance in his epistle, 2 Thessalonians 2:15: "So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter." So, as for me and my hose, we will serve the Lord.
You'd be encouraged by the journals of Charles Finney In how he deals with churches in the south who demanded slavery as loudly as Trump his right to power. Cheers from Alaska
Enjoy your videos. FYI, Donald Trump is not even Pro-life any more. With regards to a vote in Florida, he openly stated that he thought 6 weeks was too short.
Recently, he has changed his mind on this subject several times. To me it just shows that this man has no true convictions or beliefs, other than serving himself and his own power position. He changes his mind constantly for whatever he thinks will bring him more voters at the time.
Trump talks from the holes in each end of his body. He has no firm policies. He says whatever the particular group he's addressing wants to hear. He is a complete fraud with zero ethical or moral standing.
I agree. For every political issue and because we all deserve our voices to be heard, there is compromise. Compromising is better than stand-offs or stalemates. America is not Heaven. The World is not God's Kingdom. Congress should be a place for debate and compromise not chaos and self-righteous grandstanding (MAGA). And the President of the United States should work for us all. Vote your conscious, but don't hate me or demonize me if I vote mine. Believe it or not, you can be both a Christian and a Democrat.
A lot of it has to do with a resurgence in post-millennial eschatology. Researdh Dominion Theology, Reconstructionsism, the Seven Mountain Mandate, The New Apostolic Reformation, etc.
1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from the appearance of all evil Romans 12:9 Abhor that which is evil God’s word is plain to all Christians, you don’t get to chose the lesser of two evils! If you do, you are being rebellious and God will hold you responsible for your actions when it comes to siding with anything evil. Remember politics is a man made system, invented by human beings to govern themselves so they do not end up in anarchy, chaos, ruin and destruction. God is King, not any man, ruler or political system. Just ask Adam and Eve and their progeny.
Conservative Christians have long criticized our liberal brethren for preaching what we have disparagingly called "the social gospel." Liberal Christians point out - quite rightly and accurately, as it turns out - that throughout the Scripture there are admonitions to seek justice for the oppressed, to show compassion on the suffering, and to give generously to the poor and needy. Conservative Christians respond that while these things are indeed true, they are not the primary focus of the Bible. The Bible's primary concern is the gospel, which is God's plan of SPIRITUAL salvation for mankind, NOT earthly HUMANITARIAN programs. Ironically, we conservative Christians have our own humanitarian issues that we elevate to an equality with (or even above) the gospel. Opposition to abortion is the most central one of our conservative "social gospel" concerns. Perhaps we ought to refocus on the actual gospel ourselves. And then take a holistic approach to humanitarian needs that includes concern for the unborn AND concern for racial equality, for justice, for fair work conditions and pay, and so on. All, of course, subordinate to the main focus: preaching the biblical gospel of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
I agree. That's how I approached my pastoral ministry. The reason I'm doing this is to push back on a distorted way of thinking. If we don't actually stand against the false MAGA gospel (some of us) then we allow our people to be taken in by liars and thieves, unopposed.
@@TimSpangler-rd6vs Of course you have reproductive rights - you have the right and responsibility to control yourself. Sorry but Jesus Christ is a divisive person. He even said He didn’t come to bring peace but a sword. His way is narrow and few be that will find it. Most people reject Him and He warned that we would be hated for His names sake. We do have the ministry of reconciliation to hold out to people if they will believe it. We live in a country that allows for many false religions. They are all over the world but just talking about America right now. God is concerned about all Nations not just the USA.
As a devoted follower of Jesus Christ it’s appalling how Christians justify supporting Donald Trump.
