I am a Toyota fan but gotta admit that I admired ByKolles for a very long time now. they are such a small team and they keep on trying. Their cars look great and the new one is no exception. As you said, they will be on the lighter side and with the advantage of an less complicated engine they have more aero capacities than Toyota. However, I see a possible drawback of this concept when it comes to rain and acceleration out of slow corners. This might be an issue over the season and if the condition changes in Le Mans, might bite back harder. I think that it might become a great season, we have the following scenario (IMO): -Toyota has a proven Hybrid system but are heavier and lack testing (at least they claim to have issues with it). -ByKolles has a lighter car but might lack the punch out of the corners and have a low budget. -SCG has a lot of Nürburg 24h experience but lack Le Mans experience.
Agree, it’s amazing on what level they compete and the cars look great. They won’t have many disadvantages because Toyota can only deploy the electric front axle above 120km/h in the dry and above 140km/h in the wet and they carry the extra weight of the hybrid system. Looking forward to that battle
I am really really skeptical they'll actually show up. I'll believe it when I see it. They were supposed to race this season. But so far we have only seen renderings.
Last evolution of CLM P1/01 (before they using ByKolles brand) was clearly inspired by 2016 Audi R18 (the all-new R18 and last Audi LMP1),which is inspired in Formula 1,specially from 2012 and 2013 models (plain nose years)
I really like what they did with the design. The car looks really nice and i hope they can keep these esthetics on the race proven version. I find it a bit sad that this video doesnt go quite as deep into detail as for example with the bugatti bolide. Again as i mentioned in another video you are a bit fast with talking and id love to see more detailed explanations on the parts (more than already, but i can accept the fact that it isnt quite as detailed, since you bascially just started making these videos).
Thanks for the feedback! People found the Bugatti videos a bit too long, too detailed and slow and didn't watch them until the end. I will get into more detail once detailed pictures of the real cars are available, rather than renderings.
It seems they have a disagreement with the ACO regarding entry fees. However, even if they would be able to resolve this issue, I am not sure they even have a car at the moment.
Don’t get me wrong though I would have rather seen them on the entry list. As with Honda joining the LMdH camp, LMH really needs a 3rd manufacturer, to make it a viable. Although with BOP, does it even matter?
Toyota will carry on winning. The other teams simply don't have the resources that Toyota has. The competition will only get stiffer for them when Peugeot, Audi and Porsche return in 2022/2023?
@@JP-wf1cb Porsche are going for LMDh as well. LMH will not be a category in 5 years and will most likely phase into LMDh do to its more marketability outside WEC.
I'm still not sure whether or not ByKolles will actually race this year, there's been absolutely no news regarding their entry since they unveiled those renders, as far as I'm aware.
@@Oscar97o I´m in doubt. There isn't any information available that suggests that a real car even exists. With Glickenhaus you can at least see the real thing.
What I don't understand is why all 3 LMH entrants went for relatively aggressive and highly efficient LMP-like aero concepts, while the rules dictate 4:1 aero efficiency coefficient, which, I'm told (I'm not an expert), is so conservative you can make a pretty GT car (shape) and be competitive in LMH. What are they going to do to produce the required drag? Add a parachute at the back? It's like building a boat anchor out of carbon fibre only to fill it with tungsten to make it as heavy as it needs to be.
WEC: Hypercars will look more like road cars... Toyota: NO, we use our LMP1 car! Bykolles: NO, we use a look alike Peugeot LMP1 car! Those new rules got me so hyped... it's all gone.
On the bright side, SCG has produced a road-going prototype, so there's some hope. Regardless, this is racing. Engineering wins, and engineering favours making an extremely efficient race car, not a pretty road car.
With all that aero, I worry about the Mulsanne Straight when it comes to Le Mans. It's so long that it really can determine the success of a car. Otherwise, love the car, they have my support.
I wish watch the road version reality and on production, and i hope that be compatible with biodiesel or biogas, well, all cars that use internal combustion (or hybrid) be compatible with biodiesel or biogas (produced with recycle materials).
Will it ever race actually? They're sitting out 2021, if the car hits the ground running in 2022, I'll be surprised. I predict poor reliability if they manage to race a season with this car.
Finally ByKolles is a real car brand and not only a team (derived from Kolles Racing by Colin Kolles). In previous years they used the "moniker" CLM (previously a "Lotus" car) for their own LMP1,the P1/01,and now they are taking it seriously with low-volume hypercars.Really a disaster cancel everthing in 2021.Let's make a change for 2022

I might got some good news for you. As far as it stands the LMH/LMDh cars won't be as fast as their predecessors the LMP1's, a couple of seconds slower around LeMans to give an example. Even the LMP1's couldn't keep up with the speed of F1. Only the 919 Tribute which was faster than the LMP1's by quite a margin could get on their pace but wasn't able to hold a record on a track were F1 also perfomed hotlaps (it did break the record around Spa, which was reclaimed by F1 a year later though).
What's with hypercars? Bugatti, Aston Martin Red Bull, AMG are just some. Some can't even go up my driveway ramp. They cost more than my house. Who can afford them? And those who can afford them, can't even drive them.
