Few things which is usually missed in videos like these are briefly mentioned by Ashley - how do you set targets for chasis? How does design evolve from one gen to another (for example do they want to solve specific issues from last years car or there is new aero ideas etc.)? Things like how to get incremental improvements, but also major goals/targets set by team principal.

@@cmccullough2518 The ginetta beat the time set by the porsche 919 in 2017 but also the time set by toyota to take pole in 2017. But in 2019 the ginetta took 1.2 seconds from the fastest toyota. There are several explanations for this performance gap. First of all the track was resurfaced which made it faster, the current aerodynamic rules were put in place in 2017 so the cars have also evolved in 2 years and have become faster (what we see with the time of the toyota in 2019). And anyway if the ginetta manages to beat the time of the 919 by just one tenth in qualifying the hybrid cars, although older (for the porsche) are unbeatable in traffic thanks to their 1000 horsepower at the beginning of the acceleration.

They repeated the mistake Group C made in the early 90s when they allowed costs to get out of control and while Audi was because of diseilgate, the loss of Porsche was a massive blow that could have been avoided if costs stayed low. And the way they've reacted to this is disgraceful with resorting to handicaps which makes building a good car pointless and makes drivers not want to win. On top of that the le mans hypercars have been botched, they should have followed the IMSA model with cheap altered LMP2 cars but they instead have this wired mix of road and prototype cars that are now become a pointless formula because they'll be BOPed with the DPIs.
