    I got interested when I first heard that the LMP cars would be replaced by "Hypercar" which at the time sounded like they were going to base these cars on homologated street hypercars. Turns out all these are just LMP cars to specs allowing for reduced expense only to encourage more entries

      @@rockerbauer well, to be honest GT1 cars weren't that different from prototypes...actually, the problem with them was that, in the end, they were 100% racing machines

    Was really surprised at how much slower these were at Sebring compared to prior years. Seems like the regulations limit the deployment zones for the electric power if I'm not mistaken

    It will be interesting to see the GR010 against the Glickenhaus car, which on photos, look less aero detailed. We'll see. This car looks like the benchmark so far, great job Toyota. Will be interesting too, to see the Bykolles car, not much info about them.

    • @BSport320
      @BSport320  3 года назад +4

      Agreed, the Glickenhaus looks a bit oldschool and simple but I only saw renderings so far. Will be interesting to see the first prototype. The ByKolles looks quite interesting

    • @Fysmodul6
      @Fysmodul6 3 года назад +2

      Yes, but not much info about the Bykolles project. We'll see, but at least the new Hypercars won't have to lift to safe fuel on the straights. Will be great to see them go full throttle again, for an old timer like me!

      Because it is one. Somewhat different, but if you compare early Porsche 919 to the final 919 (not the Evo) you'll see almost as much difference. This is no "hypercar" and bears very minimal stylistic resemblance to the GR Super Sport road car concept. This is TS050 Evo, as far as chassis is concerned.

  • @zwykyziomek2570
    @zwykyziomek2570 3 года назад +3

    I like how this car still looks like a prototype rather than a road car, hope it stays so. The biggest con of these "hypercars" imo is this reference to road cars, even slowing them down isn't that bad.

    Btw if you look closely at some pictures, you'll see other air ducts on the inside side of the sidepods (next to the exhausts), witch in my opinion, are use for brake cooling 😁
    Here are two pictures where you can see it :

    Stunning. Thats my take on the Gr 010. I love the front wing. It works so well with the chevron shaped nose. the front looks like its cutting through the air. The sidepods from this indicar like look in the back which encloses the rear wheels and integrates the rear wing nicely on the endplates. The rear to me loks like its ready to go on the road. The diffusor is somehwat small for the width of the car. Id love to see a diffusor that wraps behind the rear wheels like on the bugatti bolide. I think the fences on the roof give it some character and using such a simple method to get air into the engine is something i really like.
    The car overall looks like its carved out by the wind (specifically the rear and to a degree the front fenders).
    good video, but sadly a bit short, which is ofcourse due to the low volume of information

      @@AzathothsAlarmClock Yeah sorta. But rules are first defining point, then physics. And as u said then gradually engineering iteration bunch manufactures together. Design on all cars becomes very similar and converges towards optimal solutions. Its natural selection. Shame ACO didn't fully committed Hypercar rules and even banned LMP2 class in order to replace them with privateers Hypercar2 series. Ofc smart BOP should be developed.
