Krytonite makes everything so damn exciting, It shows that Kara and Clark aren't invincible and that they both have weaknesses that their enemies could use against them.
Imagine if there were alot of krypton women on earth and i mean alot, like a million.... alot of guys would be trying to get there hands on kryptonite. Why....because some men actually believe love is having control on a womans heart. Scary.
No they wouldn't. The only time people try to get kryptonite is when they're trying to hurt or kill Superman or Supergirl. Using Kryptonite to control one of them is the worst tactic you can use.

I get that, I mean why is it radioactive. I’ve always assumed that the reason it became dangerous had something to do with the planet’s explosion doing something to it, here it’s a sample sent before the planet blew up.
I don't think the planet had something to do with it, I'm pretty sure it's the yellow sun.. When exposed to the red sun it did no damage to them, but it becomes poisonous to them because of the yellow sun
I’m pretty sure kryptonite was already radioactive on krypton but they had ways around it where it was deep underground so it didn’t hurt them but when the planet blew up it spread everywhere

Basically kryptonians biology absorbs solar radiation at a different rate than humans which is what gives her powers, the red sun on her planet doesent give out the same radiation, hence why she loses her powers when exposed to it. Kryptonite is radioactive minerals from her home planet krypton which are damaging to only kryptonian cells, that's why it hurts her and weakens her

Red sun is their native spectrum and it makes them more or less human, yellow sun overclocks them giving them strength and energy based powers, kryptonite has it's own radiation that while absorbed more effeciently is very low energy and purges her stored energy at a high rate. Supergirl is more or less being rapidly starved to death when exposed to kryptonite.

Well it's said kryptonite could also be harmful to humans but u would need to be exposed to it often for a long period of time
