- Here we go again... another thief thought they could steal while completely ignoring our numerous 4K security cameras. Steven M. Smithson of Crestwood KY is dumb thief of the day. LMPD paid him a visit. Charges filed and don't come back!
Love the fact that you showed his tag # Now everybody that sees it will know he is nothing but a thief. Hope family & friends are proud of him.
His family & friends are probably scumbags as well.

Steven Smithton…..let’s make him famous
Man… you guys have some FANTASTIC cameras. Great resolution. Nice job and catching the thief…!
I have 5MP cameras an can not make out plate numbers at that distance. Excellent camera, must be a LPR camera or 8 MP to pick up a plate number like that.
We need more of these nicely produced videos from more establishments.
That high-definition camera system is paying for itself, it's just a shame you have to have it to protect your store from low-life common thieves.
Public shaming is a great idea. The judge should make him wear an, "I'm a thief." sandwich boards at a busy highway intersection. A public flogging would be better, but even less likely.
didn't see ur comment b4 I wrote mine Agree 101+% some time picking up raod trash outa be more common sentence also !! Hopefully
Public flogging wtf 🤣 why do so many people want to see other people get whipped in public, so weird. This isn't the early 1800's anymore and we don't live in Iran, just throw them in jail. Also protection from cruel and unusual punishment is in the constitution, and most people today would agree that flogging doesn't meet modern standards for social decency. It's in the 8th amendment
@@zerofallen059 I'll bet you're popular at parties, It was a flippant comment, no one seriously thinks we are going to start flogging people in public or otherwise.

I once bought 5 boxes of rifle ammo at the local F&F Store @ $25 each and I was only charged for one. I didn’t realize the mistake until I was at home putting away the ammo. The next day I went back to the store and paid the difference I owed . The customer service gal was shocked that I was being honest , and was very thankful for my doing the right thing . The next time I shopped there I found out I was given $ 25 rewards points for my honesty!!!

26 years in retail and loss prevention showed me the extent and measure that thieves will go to in order to steal: Even the most mundane items, such as a magazine! They would be SO MUCH further ahead in life if they put all that effort into a legal and productive lifestyle.
It’s the thrill and for some people they get more joy out of consuming a stolen item then if they were to consume a item they worked hard to pay for. It’s a psychological thing. That’s why shoplifting will always exist unless they lock everything up. I know people who made 6 figure and still shoplifted cause they had a addiction to steal
um Scotty, he's not stealing a Vogue magazine, it's a magazine used to hold bullets that's inserted into the weapon.
The people that steal is what gets me, I worked at a farm that had a store and had it all meat, groceries, deli, bakery, gift shop, florist all in one. We caught this guy who was friends with the brother that ran the inside of the place, we watched the guy for 3 days at lunch time, 2 sandwiches, little salad, and a soft drink, come up to the registers and he had a salad and a soft drink. They figure he'd been doing it for months because the loss numbers on the deli portion had gone up 4 or 5 months earlier and sales pdown. The last day they had a cop there who handcuffed him as soon as he went out the door, 2 sandwiches in his pocket.
He lost his job at 3M also because they didn't like there's either. A friend of the boss.........
@@ddutsie he probably already has the weapon, you act like there’s a background check for ammo and mags which there’s not, during the shortages I seen grown men hiding bullets in other departments so they could comeback and buy that again when it was limited

That blows my mind... Absolutely no use for thief's!
* Thieves. With exceptions so rare that they can be all but ignored, an apostrophe-s NEVER makes a word plural, it makes a singular possessive. Example: There were three thieves recorded on video that day, but one thief's antics earned him a spot on RUclips.

Next time you lock your keys in the car you can call someone and waste money, I know how to open a locked door on cars or houses, it’s not all bad skills to know in a pinch, one time my cousin accidentally locked a truck that was running, luckily I was there to help, just so you know before you freak out I learned the skills from an old friend that always locked his keys in the car and needed help opening it, not from thieving
@@outdoorvideoswithbrad hahaha....
Glad you all are in Louisville, now. Already made numerous purchases there!
I couldn’t imagine stealing as an adult. I remember being an immature kid and stealing candy and dumb stuff like that. But I grew up and realized my wrongs. I curious though if the police will actually show up at his place or anything. Is it more serious because it’s ammo for a gun ?
This. We need lots more of this. If the police won’t then we can make them famous.
Your Honor, I put those things in my pocket because I didn't have a cart. I later decided I didn't want them and put them on some random shelf, but the store detectives aren't showing that because they are racist. If they thought, I was stealing why didn't they stop me then so I could have told them I had just laid the stuff on a random shelf. How do I sue them for putting my face and name on the internet calling me a thief, and the police who arrested me?
Sad, but I saw that defense and it worked. Judge was a prick to believe that crap.
Sometimes judges will accept the lamest stories to dismiss a charge. WTF?
Yep…. The best thing to do is trespass him from the store.
Innocent until proven guilty.
The burden of proof is with the state, in order to achieve a successful prosecution.
What u steal ammo for bro we could of went on a spree dead ass
I used to work at Bass Slow Shop, we had a customer load an entire shopping cart full, I mean full of ammo, and just rolled it out the door, It was 2 days later they discovered the theft. The end of the video at BSS, he waved to the cashiers as he walked out. Glad to see that KYGunco did it better.
Was the person ever apprehended
@@geesss8675 Yes, they recognized him, he bought a shotgun days before.
Bass "Slow"? Shop? I've not seen ammo right out on the shelves ready to grab, but the only Bass I've been to is in California in Rancho Cucamonga. I guess other states are more "freedom fry" but there are OTHER reasons to have ammo under lock and key. Like, keeping kids away from it.
Thieves can be seriously DUMB! BTW I visited that store a couple weeks ago, just beautiful, great job on layout.
Thanks!
Steven said, you have now lost a customer, as he is to embarrass to go back to shop and pay for 1 item.
GOD BLESS AMERICA.
Imagine having kids and them seeing this.
See the stark contrast between the way one demographic steals as opposed to another? Now imagine if he called up his friends and decided to have a flash mob shopping spree... Or like in Cali where the women load handbaskets full of cosmetics and just walk right out.
Just can’t accept that the thief is a white can you? Have you ever worked in lost prevention? Everyone steals, mostly middle aged to older white women. And most people in loss prevention will attest to that.
He knows what he is doing is wrong.
A thief is a thief is a thief
A thief is a thief the fuck you mean lmao

I'm an Asst Store Manager in Retail Food. You'd be AMAZED at the stuff people think of to do to shoplift. I've witnessed mothers shoplifting with their young children. How messed up is that?
CCTV is the best tool to catch these idiots.
I never steal and get followed all the time by store security. I sometimes think, "while they're watching me buy chicken leg quarters, someone else is getting away with pockets full of ribeye".
Ever think that they’re doing it to feed their kids?
Stealing is wrong yea but stealing food?? Who steals food? Those who NEED it
@@gripz9387 rest assured, that is the exception, and not the rule. The last few times I've seen shoplifting, it was healthy teenagers who just like to steal junk food instead of pay for it.
Don't worry many isles have no cameras
KEEP. POSTING. THESE!!!!
He’s in his 50s and lives in crestwood.
This begs the question: Should he still be considered a _responsible_ gun owner if he is a thief?
Something to think about...
Stay classy my friends.
Gotta be over $1,000 of merchandise.
That's assuming he even owns a gun. Maybe he's just a thief.
Crackheads steal anything they can sell or trade. If you ever get a chance to talk to a dealer or former dealer, you'll laugh at some of their stories. One I heard; "crack fiend banging on my bedroom window at 3am with a beat-up power drill to trade for a rock."
Prolly' has one of those "safe drug use kits" with stolen tax $ 😴
😱⁉
Go to jail! I hate a thief.
Would be nice if every store in America would post this type of activity and name the culprit!
I'm glad they did post this, however for it to be effective the defendant has to have a sense of shame.
I could easily see alot of people boasting of how they were caught redhanded, made it on RUclips, then received a sentence of 8hrs community work service which they'll never do.
Won't worry about ammo when you make your own. So fortunate to have a buddy that thought me to use his press
I knew a guy that owned CB store and repair shop. He was well known in the trucking community and well liked. One day a trucker stole some of his top end radios and he didn't notice it until he watched his video. He didn't call the cops though. He just posted the guy's face, name and a picture of the truck on Facebook, as well as in his shop. Word got around and not only did the guy get fired from his company over it, he couldn't get another job even driving an ice cream truck after he was vilified by every trucker in the trucking industry!
Even someone as super intelligent as that guy doesn't know there are cameras in stores. Oh well, good goin' cameras and keep up the good work!
I Hate freaking Thieves!
Pity we didn't see him taken on his way out the door. smh. Great clarity of the video! What camera system??
Every time I walk into one of the stores I feel like there’s 1000 eyes staring at me it’s very uncomfortable I have decided to purchase through online stores instead I get it people steal out there but kind of sucks if you’re just walking around aimlessly but have money to spend in the store oh well
I assume that anywhere I go in public that I'm being recorded. As I'm not going to do anything wrong, it does not bother me. I should mention that I work in fields where there are ALWAYS cameras looking over my shoulder.
Awesome! HD Cameras pay for themselves. Good work!
Hey, this was great. More, please.
He's the reason they are trying to take our guns from us 🤣🤣
With cameras like these out in 2022 and we still can't get a picture of the aliens that isn't blurry.
Gas Station Encounters vibes lol, y’all should collab
Nicely put together
That was the most clear 1080p surveillance I’ve ever seen 😂
Ain't no cop visiting someone's home over that, lol.
Be glad you wasn't mob robbed!
Love it hope hes behind bars....glad you guys are local sorry for stupid thieves
i personally thought those shorts with that hat were a crime.
That alone says youre up to no good. 🤣
You need the guy from “ gas station encounters “ to narrate . LoL 😂
I thought for a minute he was about to hop in that $50k pickup lol
Love it! I bought ammo at another store as Kygc 2hrs away and when I got home and looked there was 4 rounds missing from the box at the back . Maybe check your boxes that are not sealed to make sure you are getting all you pay for! What a douchebag
How could ANY adult in the USA even think of adding a THEFT charge to their arrest record?? Your employment is suddenly very, very limited. What did the thief guy save?? 100 bucks??? His camo pants cost that.
🤣💀… great video by the way 👏🏼👍🏼🇺🇸🥃
Looks like a nice store. I'll have to make a point to stop in next time I drive through KY.
My question is when did they notice and how did they know to focus on him when reviewing the video? Was it the walking back and forth?
HaHaHa, love it! Crooks should be highlighted so everyone knows who to be wary of.
Now... will the cops do their job?
Roll of the dice, as always.
@@TUKByV Yeah, exactly. Shameful.
Idgit. Don't blame the cops, they filed charges.
Blame the prosecutors and the judges, they love it when you blame cops for lawyers not doing their job.
Their job is to terrorize, extort, harass, accost, threaten, rob, lie, brutalize, coerce, plant evidence, kidnap & murder.
Of course they’ll do their jobs (terrorism isn’t a job), because no one else (who’s sane) will.
A criminal with a firearm stealing ammo - what can go wrong…
I forgot, you guys have primers ??
Jokes on you, that was a stolen Creditcard, his name is Hunter.
“Fures usque ad mortem” 💀
Nice, maybe he only needed 1 round. If you know what I mean. And I think he deserves the 1 round. For fking it up for the rest of us.
Badass camera system!
Question is there more serious consequences for stealing that kind of stuff compare to normal shoplifting
Im sure the LMPD did nothing but issue him a ticket.
Blue light special today at kygunco on pocket shots... A real stinger of a deal today..👮😳😵😆🇺🇸💪👍
Instant felony, good work.
People like this just absolutely are not kosher.
Just Wow!! How did you catch him? He was pretty slick... What triggered yall's spidey senses?? Short rope. Long fall.
This idgit probably used his own credit card.
1) kudos for having security cameras that aren’t blurry and distort 👍👍
2) walk ad free people. DOH. He could have worn a mask, legally. Lololololo.
You have any reasonably priced 338 WM ammunition
Because of dudes like this, every time I walk into a store, I feel guilty. Then wonder if I look guilty. Then wonder if I look like I'm trying to not look guilty. And once I know they're watching me trying to not look guilty, I know I look guilty.
If I ever did try to steal something, I would probably break out in hives that spelled out G U I L T Y across my forehead. Thanks a lot bro.
Your right I go into My local ammo store and they give me this look.
Outstanding video. Just another freakin thief.
How petty a thief who drives such a nice car
Is this the new one in Louisville
Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
Thanks good idea to spell out his name. Ammo has come down a little but whatever the price is it’s not worth going to jail.🎉
These are the same folks screaming about immigrants coming here to steal from us. Over and over they steal from their local businesses and don't seem to think there's anything wrong with it, or that doing this makes THEM the criminals! He looked so casual just taking it. (Awesome cameras! )
I really like you guys blasting thieves. Post it on their Facebook also👍
You'll see the proud single-mothers teaching their offspring how to steal sometimes.
He will enjoy his new-found fame even more.
Seeing as its ammo will he be checked by the authorities ? Genuine question.
Ridiculous! Someone would've given him $95!
Great camera system
I can't believe the shop sells amo on the shelf unbelievable 🙄🤪😜👍🇬🇧
WOW, how pathetic!
It is well that thieves are so stupid. This guy was born to lose.
And he's probably shooting that ammo at the range right now.
Ammo prices are ridiculously (no, nothing against your particular store, it's everywhere) expensive, but there's no way I'd swipe some.
Now show the video of him getting arrested and getting convicted in court. I love stories with a happy ending...
In my small Oregon town a teen pocketed a gun that was in a display briefcase. The ceiling is half HD camers. his dad is a felon and made him do it.
There's nothing much better than watching thieves and criminals get what's coming to them. Public embarrassment by posting his name on youtube so millions can see he's a scumbag thief is awesome. I can't see an employer wanting to keep a thief on their payroll so hopefully he loses his job.
I feel bad when I get to much change back from a new cashier. This is not cool.
this is why they have all the ammo locked up by law in our state...
HA! Dang Steven... You done messed with the wrong fellas!
This kinda stuff is exactly what we should be using the internet for, putting dudes like this on BLAST. Good luck with any of your future employment opportunities Steven, bc a quick Google search of your name will reveal your nefarious nature.
SMH... 😔
Excellent
Is no one going to talk about how the woman looking at the gun is pointing it directly at her husband and the store clerk? 🤦
This video needs some Gas Station Encounters narration to it. She gone!
I do reverse shoplifting, I sneak ammo into the stores and put it on there shelfs 🤓
The police don’t give a shit about this kinds of stuff.
Glad you outed him but they don’t care. I was going to make my first trip to see y’all last weekend but it fell through! Next weekend hopefully
All that work and shame he got for 10 minutes of ammo. Dont be that guy
