    I've worked in manufacturing my whole life. How hi point makes something reliable as cheap as they do is very impressive. I'll tell you with 100% certainty it's much easier to manufacture something of quality and charge more for it than it is to make something very cheap that has high reliability. If you think making something affordable AND reliable is easy then I'd say you've never actually manufactured anything. What hi point does as a company should be commended.

      4595 carbine here and it's been a trooper with over 2k rounds through it with very few failures to feed or eject. Its got a 3-9x42 scope for plinking out to about 100 yards. I've taken a hog with it too

      I will shop with Hi Point just to support them. I've donated more than the cost of a Hi Point firearm to causes I've deemed worthy. Receiving reliable guns in exchange is a total win-win.

    Very well said when you talked about price and what people can afford. I find it horrible that some of these gun snobs look down on these folks who are on tight budgets and cannot afford a lot but want to protect themselves just like everyone else.

    I have had Hi-Points for over 20 years and they all shoot great. I have just recently purchased the 10mm carbine to go along with the 9mm carbine and 45 carbine that I have. After leaving my local pawn/gun shop I contacted Hi-Point because the original sights were missing. Hi-Point sent me everything that would have came with the rifle when purchased new (minus the rifle itself) and did not charge me for any of it. I have also finished the pistol collection with the 10mm to complete the entire calibers of handguns. American made with an incredible lifetime warranty and customer service that is hands down awesome. Hi-Point is doing it right. Thank you for pointing out the fact that they are not for everybody but are for somebody that can only afford what they can afford.

      I think the hate comes from spending $700 on a gun and getting your grouping, and the guy next to you spent $159 and gets better grouping. Not pretty, but reliable and balls accurate.

      I bought one a year or less ago and it shoots great. I also have two old style gen1s in 9mm and 3 gen2s in 9mm and a gen 2 in 45cal. They all shoot great with no fails of any kind. I have a very substantial collection of guns of all kinds and names. And my own private range. With 13 yrs of police and mil training. Don't put down what you don't know. Beauty and style isn't always an asset.

      Every gun from every manufacturer should come with a minimum of three mags. Anything less is stupid and a waste of time. Come on man... Ufacturers. Keltec does it. Any gun with 15 rounds or less should. Period.

    I have had my 995 for almost 2 years. It was inexpensive enough that I have added a fair number of accessories on it. Some for looks and some of a more functional nature. Some people say it is ugly. I guess that is in the eye of the beholder. I like it's looks, it is unique. I think of it as a little beast. Accurate, reliable, eats anything, and is a hoot to shoot. The 9mm ammo is relatively inexpensive, plus I use it with my 9mm pistols. The carbine seems to add about 200 to 300 fps muzzle velocity over the 9mm pistols.
    Great little carbine, especially for the price.

    I purchased a 10mm Hipoint carbine to go with my Springfield Armory XDM in 10mm. Took them out to play at the local range yesterday and let me tell you what! That 10mm is a little jumpy in the XDM, but that carbine tames it nicely. The problem this guy has with the sticky cheek pad doesn't bother me because of my very full beard. I've known a few Hipoint haters over the years, but all I've got to say is, go to your local range and rent one. Mine grouped very well with very manageable recoil. My only complaints are the front site needs illuminated somehow, it's hard for my old eyes to pick it up in the darkness of my local range. Also more than ONE ten round mag would be nice. I purchased 2 extra mags from Hipoint after my carbine arrived. Got them in 5 days, 3 ten rounders to the range and all functioned flawlessly. I love my Hipoint 10mm carbine...haters gonna hate...and go...i should add, I got my Hipoint 10mm carbine from Kentucky gun Co., great service.

    Hi point does something i admire, they make a decent firearm for people who might not be able to arm themselves. And if it breaks or becomes inoperable, they will repair or replace it...sometimes the "high dolla" manufacturers fail to honor their warranties.

    I love my 1095. I invested in the MCARBO upgraded parts (stainless steel guide rod, retention spring, trigger spring) along with aluminum rails and its a solid gun. A little heavier than most pcc's but its been reliable since day one. With the double mag holder you can attach to the stock, even though only 10 round mags i have 30 rounds on the gun ready to go. Perfect home defense weapon.

    I bought a hi point 9mm carbine and pistol. My friend bought a brand new Ruger 9mm. We met at my friends back yard range. He jokingly hid behind a tree when I was going to shoot the rifle 'in case it explodes' he told me. That day I fired 300 rounds both cheap fmj's and hydroshocks. No malfunctions at all. My friend's new Ruger had multiple issues. So even my friend's gun cost more than both of mine... I felt pretty good about having the hi points.

    I have a hipoint 9mm carbine i bought in 2012 and put thousands of rounds through it & it still runs perfect, the only problem I have with it is now that my son started shooting he loves it and is costing me a fortune in ammo. so this x-mas I got him a s&w 15-22. 22lr much cheaper than 9mm now I don't have to get a second job to support his new range addiction.

      Don't need to Redball sports high capacity mags work just fine for them.

    • @producedrabbit1
      @producedrabbit1 6 лет назад +8

      Regardless of capacity it is still illegal in CA due to it having a prohibited feature of a pistol grip. CA defines an assault weapon as having a semi auto rifle that accepts a detachable magazine with any ONE assault feature including pistol grip, folding stock, bayonet lug, barrel shroud, threaded barrel. Thats why a lot of gun owners are forced to go “featureless” in order to have a semi auto rifle that accepts a detachable magazine. Otherwise to have a pistol grip, folding stock etc magazines must be fixed and rifle needs to be dissembled to reload. Hi point carbine could never be featureless or have a fixed magazine.

    I bought a Hi-Point 4595ts Carbine about 3 years ago out of curiosity more than anything else. A buddy had a 9mm Hi-Point Carbine that I tried out and was surprised at how smooth and accurate it was right out of the box. I wanted a heavier caliber for myself so I went with the 45ACP. Same experience. Accurate right out of the box and buttery smooth, almost no recoil. My wife was able to shoot real well with it as well. For 400 bucks total I walked out of Ye Olde Gun Shop with the Carbine, a green dot laser/tactical light, a scope and a combo front grip/tripod. I have put about 500-600 rounds through it and have never had a single issue with the damn thing, it always goes bang. Ammo-wise I feed it Speer Lawman and Speer Gold Dot regularly but I've used all of the major ammo brands including the Federal ammo sold at Wally World and it all goes bang. Some of the guys at the range snicker when they see that it's a Hi-Point but after shooting it most have good things to say about it's performance. If you are on a budget (or not) these Hi-Points are impossible to beat for the price. Try one at the range, you'll see what I mean. They are also introducing 20 rd extended magazines for the 45s.

    I've owned a 1st generation 9mm carbine and pistol. The carbine would shoot hole for hole at 25 yards with iron sights, no complaints. My only gripe about the pistol was that the trigger pull wasn't very good. A little work and it was light and manageable. I know not everyone is a gunsmith, but it was a simple fix. For the money, I can't complain about Hi-Point firearms at all.

    If you approach this gun with an open mind you'll fall in love with.First things first.No one argues these negatives.It just plain ugly,it's a truly attractive weapon.It's heavy,it's clunky,and worst,it's a pain to clean properly. Now for the good stuff. It's pretty darn accurate right out of the box.I put 500 rounds of every type of 10mm ammo I could get my hands on.I did not have a single fail to fire or failure to eject.I love plinking, I love it even more with the 10mm. A cartridge,that in all honesty I can't hit the broadside of a barn in any 10mm handgun made.It's much easier to get better with the carbine. The moral of this story is don't be a gun snob.

    The two very first guns I purchased where a C9 pistol absolutely love that gun than I purchased a high point 380 great gun but don't like the 380 round so I sold it for $20.00 less than I paid for it not bad. I just got my High point 9mm carbine with a red dot about a month ago, I've only taken it to the range twice absolutely love this carbine. I just love the way you said what you did about people in buying there firearms. I'm 58 year's old the first gun I purchased again was the high point c9 about 17 months ago I since then have purchased 9 Gun's. I have never felt so ashamed of myself when out shopping for thing's to add to my C9 at least that's the way the people made me feel at the Gun's stores I went to. At that point I decided I'd never Walk into a gun store again to spend my hard earned money. So for that reason I have purchased the other 7 guns I have purchased From Buds on line they don't judge me or make me feel like a scum bag for owning and shooting my High points. Out of the 8 guns that I do own now 2 of them are high points the other a Taurus a heritage arms and a Marlin. Great video thank you

      Buds is a helluva gun store. Cant walk in there without feeling like a kid in a candy store. Takes me 2 hrs to get out of there. Yeh ordering off line is alot better. I dont understand why they would look down on a person for buying a product they sell. People dont think some people might be on a budget. High points are heavy but they get the job done. And in this day and age and the way the world is now, that's golden.

    Hi-Point just made themselves "boutique chic" with this gun. 🤓It's gonna be a way for the more affluent shooters to connect with their "common buddies" by being a guilty pleasure toy. So much truth in this video, though: American made product, affordable, functional, and as the internet has proven, durable and generally reliable. Nothing wrong with a gun like that. Love the cheek piece 😁 This 10mm is Hi-Point's love letter to America, and they will be rewarded for it.

    I’m 29, and I finally decided that I wanted to purchase 2 firearms. I don’t have the means to buy high end, but still wanted at least something. I decided I wanted to get a Maverick 88, and this hi-point carbine. My dad owns the older 9mm version of this carbine, it’s probably at least 15 years old. It’s never malfunctioned. He keeps it clean and it just works. I enjoyed shooting it a few times, the sights are nice. I like the fact that there are a bunch of affordable options for people like me, that just want a few. I like made in USA and it’s great that it has a warranty. A lot of people say the customer service is really good.

    Glock magazines. My biggest gripe for hi-point is pistol that size with 10 round magazines. Convert to Glock magazines. But, I'm liking this carbine and if 10 rounds of 10mm can't handle it few things could.

      They're built around a single stack grip. A 1911 mag can work with a couple of cuts!

    Just bought the Highpoint .45 caliber carbine. Shoots great. No feed issues, accurate, gun is a little heavy but it needs heavier metal components to handle the recoil of the .45 cal round. They apparently had some issues with some of their older carbines like the 995, but those seem to be a thing of the past. Also some of those issues were caused by people shooting cast ammo in these things.. not recommended. They arent the 7to 8 hundred dollar carbines of other makers nor are they meant to be but they are reliable, accurate, made in the USA and have a lifetime warranty. What other gun maker puts a transferrable lifetime warranty on their weapons???

  • @steveinla8963
    @steveinla8963 6 лет назад +7

    I really like your philosophy about creating more responsible shooters/voters. It's always nice to see shooters who are not snobs. My friend has the .45 and .40 carbines. The .40 has never missed a a beat. The .45 cartridges are tight in the magazine and sometimes don't feed right; it jams. Hi Point replaced the magazines and the new ones are better. The stock can bite your face so the soft rubber cheek piece is a welcome addition. He placed moleskin on his stocks and that helped lots. It would be nice to have 25, or 50 round drums for these guns.
    There was that lady in Philly who chased the armed thugs out of her house with a 9mm Hi Point carbine; good for her!

      357 Sig would be easier to acquire and it would be a natural for the 40 caliber guns cuz essentially all you had to do is change the barrel mag jector extractor the whole thing is based on the 40. The only thing that has to be changed is the barrel itself
