Love the skirt, I agree as I get older I am much more comfortable in high waisted everything. Awesome tips as always x I think this would work for our hot Australian summers as well, thank you adore all of your content Lucy
Can you recommend some sewing books other than the Palmer/Pletsch for fitting? You are such an inspiration to me in sewing. I’m just being my sewing journey and love watching you each Friday! Thanks so much! ❤️
Yes, could you explain a bit more on lessening the neck collar and would you leave a link to the button hole tutorial. Like your videos and material. Look forward to each video.
Your outfit is really cute!! Nice job!! Love how you did the pockets! :+) Yes, that would've been super short-- reminded me of how short I wore my mini skirts and hot pants in the 60's and 70's! LOL!! :+) You have the legs for it, alas-I no longer do!! :+(
I love your turtleneck. I bought the pattern and made it. The neck was really large, hanging off my neck several inches. Do you take out any extra around the neck or make pattern as is? I am wondering if I am doing something wrong. Thanks! love your makes!
Yes it does and yes you do. I often use narrow ribbon for this task or stay tape. You can see a tutorial on how I do it here www.sewessential.co.uk/blog/five-techniques-sewing-clothes-overlocker/ hope that helps, thanks for watching.
Hi Lucy love your skirt but I was put off as my first experience of Burda patterns wasn’t good! As a beginner I chose a Burda tunic pattern with a v neck and found the instructions were not detailed enough and I really struggled with it. Think I’ll look for something similar that isn’t Burda. I had a look at the John Kaldor jersey fabric but noticed it was hand wash only - did you handwash your top?
Thank for the tip for the neck band
It's a pleasure, I find it really helpful to get things right.
Thanks Lucy, the pocket idea is a good one! You did a great job.
Thanks Jorja, I really appreciate that, I'm glad you liked it.
Lovely outfit! Very smart what you did with the skirt pockets!
Super cute! Thanks, sunshine. 🌞🌞🌞
Lovely outfit. Thanks for sharing...
Thank you Vicki that's very kind of you.

Hi. I love the top. When you say you sew all of it on the overlocker, does that include the shoulders and do you need to stabilise them? Thanks.
Yes it does and yes you do. I often use narrow ribbon for this task or stay tape. You can see a tutorial on how I do it here www.sewessential.co.uk/blog/five-techniques-sewing-clothes-overlocker/ hope that helps, thanks for watching.
❤❤❤
Thank you.
Did you interface the cooler on your turtle neck? When I’ve used that fabric without a stretch interfacing the collar just flops .

Definitely have another go with a different pattern company. Burda have some nice patterns but they are not beginner friendly.
Your skirt is charcoal colour
