you are right Rick, I saw a documentary not too long ago, and they mentioned about this song. George was struggling with the guitar solo or something like he couldn't hit some notes smoothly. And Eric Clapton happens to be hanging out with them at the studio at the time. So they asked Eric Clapton to mess around with it, and he got it done first try.
There’s a lot written about Lennon & McCartney’s harmonies but I think George’s with Paul blends so perfectly. When Eric Clapton is your lead guitarist and Paul McCartney is your backing singer AND the song is THIS good the magic will follow. Also Ringo is great on this.
George Harrison was an excellent song writer, guitarist and singer. He just didn’t get the amount of attention that Paul and John received. George was “the quiet Beatle”.
Yes, George definitely grew into an advanced creative composer. But unlike some, I rather liked his music all the way at the beginning, including such early work as "Don't Bother Me."
John said that him and Paul knew George was going to be a great songwriter. He had just started writing songs later than when John and Paul started. John saw that George was growing through the same hurdles that he and Paul did. Which is why he knew that George was going to catch up eventually.
It should be said that George IS a GREAT and capable guitarist and it says something about his ego that he asked Eric to play guitar on a Beatle track. An example of being in service to the song and what it deserves.
@@paullavan3097 Presumably she made her own decisions. But it also says something that Clapton (to my knowledge) never complained about not being credited very much. After all how many people are on a Beatles Album.

Listening to the Beatles is a God shot.
The most influential band in shaping popular culture... music, freedom, fashion, politics, they are EVERYTHING.
Nearly ever song from the Beatles 1965 thru 1970 is wonderful
Definitely my favorite Beetle's song.
