SpongeBob SquarePants also owes a debt to Ren & Stimpy, especially when it comes to the series' distinct animation style. Animator Vincent Waller, who worked on both shows, said of the shared flavor of both series, "Working on Ren & Stimpy and SpongeBob was very similar. This episode was not it's best to be honest. It is by far one of the most grossest episodes I have ever seen.
SpongeBob SquarePants was released in the late 1990’s which was 1999 May 1
And Ren and Stimpy was released on August 11 1991

To me, and I've had a gazillion arguments about this, spongedouche is a complete rip-off wannabe Ren & Stimpy. I've NEVER liked it. Ren & Stimpy? Possibly the greatest cartoon I've ever seen ❤

@3:12 I keep forgetting how scary Ren and Stimpy can be for a kids show. It's scenes like this is why I used to fight with my older sister over the remote whenever Ren and Stimpy came on. They even made a sound effect of Ren's neck breaking while screaming.
REN is similar as Damien from the total drama reboot.
