Granny here from Nomadic Movement following. Laredo is an efficient border crossing, but it is also known as one which does things by the book. Everything is on the up and up, you got your vehicle stickers. Now, when you spot an Office Depot in one of those big cities, take a moment a make a copy of your vehicle permit, for the same reason you had multiple copies of the US documents. Wouldn't hurt to exchange some copies into each other's rigs. That way you would have a backup, and/or photograph them and send to the cloud or a relative. It looks like you came over Columbia Bridge, which I think is considered for vehicles only rather than commercial rigs. They go through the other Laredo crossings. That might be why NM was told they couldn't go over the bridge there.
Pick up some electrolyte drink....just to have on hand. You guys are not accustomed to the heat. You can get it in any drug store.
Just keep it on hand in case one of you feels weak and crampy; it can come on fast.
Eat papaya....use limons whenever you can, even in your water. Drink lots of water. Forget ice for now in drinks, unless you know the restaurant. Accept all offers to join folks for a meal. Offer them a meal also.....enjoy the banda, the sunrises, the sunsets, and just land before sunset every night. You are all doing great! You just expanded the scope of your horizons three hundred fold.
Wow .. great info
Great advice!
Well said Granny! :)
With age comes Sage wisdom : )
Granny
Exactly the things I was going to share with them.
Also, don't drink directly out of any bottled anything. Pour it into your own container if you know it's clean and sterilized. Wash all produce well. Try to eat only fruit you can wash and peel.
Cook meats well. Especially don't trust ANY ice
anywhere for consuming and if it's in your cooler be sure to wash off anything it touches.
If you get the shits, buy some adult diapers and NEVER bet on a fart. When it happens, you better be either ON or near a toilet or out in the country.
Have toilet paper or wipes with you at all times
Some tips
1 you can see the prices of the gas with the gasoapp application.
2 do not drive at night.
3 Beware of the local traffic police, the federal or military police are much more educated and are almost not corrupt.
4 tour the local markets is the best place to buy fruit, vegetables and eat.
5 oxxo is your friend are open 24 hours and always have place to park.
6 most of the gas stations outside the city have space to park trucks during the night, food and in some cases shower.
7 enjoy the trip
I see why Trent got the name Grandpa from Jorden. Always positive, confident and taking the lead. Great video. Now take the thousands of us U Tube watcher's who are hooked the four of you (and two fur babies), on a great adventure. Be safe
Allie, you think everything is sketchy. Such an East Coaster. Welcome to the west side YO.
when border security is negotiating how much a vehicle permit is you know that he just pocketed that money lol... oh mexico haha
It’s always a mess crossing border. I’m Canadian (Quebec) each time I cross the border to USA, I feel like you when you cross the border to Mexico. Continu the trip and have fun ! Love It !
New drinking game for Trent and Allie vids: Every time someone says "sketchy", you drink. RIP in Peace, viewers!
You would be too wasted! lol
We traveled to Mexico City in November last year and our families definitely were scared of us traveling and shared those awful articles with us too. We had the best time and the people were so kind everywhere we went. It took us a few days to feel comfortable just because it was so different. Definitely dirtier than the US.... your sketch meter will change for sure. Love following this journey!!!!
It's so interesting, you want to not be prejudice about things being/looking sketchy and the possibility of something bad happening but at the same time, these things do happen and it's right to feel insecure sometimes about what's going on. Glad everything worked out in the end
Gotta say, we were getting worried. Soooo happy you're all OK!
So fun to watch all of you having a good time. Have loads of fun and stay safe. 👍☮
Very exciting- Mexico to Belize will be quite a journey!
I've visited both countries, and I hope you get some opportunities to check out some of the Mayan ruins.
Being a group of 4 young, able-bodied people is in your favor, much less vulnerable, less of a target. Enjoy the natural beauty and thx/f posting!
I grew up in Southern Texas and crossed into Mexico @ Laredo many many times in my life . That has been a minute, lol. It is a different time there now. The scenery and culture will look change the further you get from the border towns. I don’t knew the route your taking, your itinerary , or the amount of time your taking to get to Belize , but the sights , sounds and smell of Mexico are worth some exploration. I could wax nostalgic but won’t waste your time, lol. Please be careful , go with your gut felling about situations.
So looking forward to seeing Mexico with you. One place I've never been. enjoy but stay safe!!! Mo, Lincs, UK XX
I’m so sucked into your adventure I worried when the next episode was late - was it late, is it me - YOU ALL ROCK. Even though you are 2 couples, the 4 of you seem to have chemistry. New to your channel and loving it, going back through and getting to know you. Keep the 360 view up and running -that is, watch your backs. Excited for more. Prove the American Media has chosen to focus on negative aspects of your coming experience.
Yay!!!!! So happy to see the update! Some people have Netflix, I have “Don’t Stop Belizen”. I’m completely hooked. Be safe, and I am loving this series!!!
Yay, you are in Mexico and on your way. Drivers there use their turn signals in multiple ways, so best not to trust them until you learn the code. Remember that an inch equals a mile on Mexican roads. You will get my meaning in no time as you experience the driving scene. Keep having fun, and keep us posted.
The cops sometimes have other drivers set you up for a rear ender or some other violation so they can then pull you over and demand you pay them to avoid going to jail.
I was nervous with you in the beginning too. Have a wonderful trip! Can't wait for next vid.
A lot of American senior citizens go to Mexico. I walked around a few cities after hoping off a cruise ship and leaving the tourist area.
Just pay attention to your surroundings, you should be ok. Have fun!
well it's about time we were all getting a little bit worried you didn't post anything for a couple of days since you were about to cross into Mexico so I'm glad that you guys made it and I'm a full-time van life for now and I always wanted to drive to Mexico so it's good to see your struggles and getting across so that I will have an easier trip whenever I decide to go anyway love your channels and keep up the good work guys PS nomadic movement you're the reason why I bought my rig
Wow sis by smiling side Kaylee and Allie look like sisters...Im so happy you all made it across. What a great support to have both of you traveling, example telling them they needed that windshield sticker...wow they could of been taken for more money to get that later on, not even knowing they needed it. Im so happy you are all together...wow what fun !!!
We were getting worried because you hadn't posted in a few days. Be safe!
I wish I would have known that you were going to my home town Monterrey 😀 I would have connected you with my family that speaks English. I’ve been following you for a while and I love your videos! Don’t listen to the news they just want to divide us. enjoy your trip!!🤗💕
That is a great start to an adventure... glad you guys posted something because I was really curious to see how things are going on. As I see it, this delay was planned as you four probably now have some days ahead the videos. Great decision. Enjoy!
Good to hear you are all safe through the border.
Max&lee+occy traveled through Mexico to Colombia. no problem guys/ just be careful & have fun.
I am unsure. Would it not be better to throw caution to the wind and toodle around with reckless abandon?
G Henrickson
Most profound question ever asked on RUclips. Well done sir or madam. Very well done.
Hey Trent & Allie!!! The WHOLE following was worried about you guys after not hearing anything for a couple of days. I figured it was just wifi-related. You guys are gonna have a blast nonetheless. This information is gonna help a LOT of folks stop tripping and EASE their fears. I want to personally THANK you guys for making yourselves available and providing this MUCH NEEDED venture into Mexico. SAFE travels, be careful out there and you guys CONTINUE to look out for each other. Thank you so much for sharing. 😀 😎
So glad to hear from you guys!! Have fun, stay safe and go by your instincts and you will be fine... keep updating us old folks with your fun adventures......hello Mexico
I've been waiting for this episode. I was wondering how you made out crossing the boarder. Have a safe and Fantastic trip and I'll be looking for the next episode.
I'm so glad to know that they're not having the gas problem there, that we're having here. We leave middle of next month, to head back to USA, and the bitter cold of Montana 😵😵
Glad you guys are having such a good time!!! So many people tried talking me out of coming this year, because of all the problems. When you're down here, you NEVER see any of the violence like they show on TV!!!
We come through Laredo too. From Laredo to our house over here is 12 hrs... Tollways cost us a little over $100 USD, but are well worth it.
Have lots of fun, be safe and trust you gut instincts and you'll be fine!!! Buenos suerte 😊😊
Like everyone else I too am glad you made it through the Border safe and sound along with the nomadic movement. May you have many great memories safe travels and stay blessed. And remember not to drive faster than your angels can fly 🌸
Hi guys, I see a fair amount of anxiety there, so take it easy. I don't speak spanish but i'm sure the locals would appreciate you trying to pick up the language as you go. I heard another vanner advising on local cops who were demanding on the spot fines. Her advice, in such circumstances, is to demand a written ticket for any alleged infringement which they then must provide, which should nullify any cash demands. Stay safe guys and keep up the good work.
Been patiently waiting for this update!! Thanks!
Already?==-- Great intro on how to cross the boarder line.... border line... in a van. No fear, confidence is key. How do you get used to having a vlogging camera on you and in places like immigration?
Awesome to see ur faces again this is what tells us that ur okay... My husband and I are going to Chicago for the second time... It's just gr8 to know that U guy's are okay just have fun. Anything can happen anywhere U are even in the U.S.
Good thing u guys find a safe spot to park and rest for a night, Cant wait for ur next video😉 tc always☺
That border crossing at Laredo was tricky but you guys are legal and now the fun begins! #TA
So glad to hear from y’all! I think everyone was starting to get a little worried after no word from y’all or NM. So, glad to get caught up and hear the crossing was just fine! ✨
So excited for this series
Oh my girsh!!! So excited for you guys! I backpacked through Guatemala a million years ago. Your vlog is bringing me back. So much fun to be had guy. Have fun!!!
Hi kiddos glad you four are having so much fun! Stay tight together and keep taking videos with that GREAT new camera!!!! Xoxoxoyourmama!
Happy to see you made it through! You guys are going to have a blast, be safe!
You guys are awesome and inspiring! Not only are you facing your fears, but you're also rising above them... and the challenges you've faced crossing the border. I commend you guys for your courage and going forward to fulfill your dreams/desires. You're going to have the best time! Way to go Don't Stop Belizen team! :)
That music and beat at 9:10 is awesome. I think I even did a head bob and shoulder roll.
Glad to finally hear from everyone, was starting to get worried. Happy trails and good times ahead.
Love the series so far! Glad you guys made it across the border safely!
We need longer videos! 💛🥰
Happy to see All those beautiful smiles! Have fun and be safe.
I have watched several vanlifers (your friends) cross from the USA into Mexico and even Jackson aka Plantriotic on his bike with his dog Maggie, you seem to be the most worried about the border crossing. Best wishes from a Brit trying to get used to this sketchy word.
So glad to see this post, was so worried when I didn't see a post for a few days. Very happy to see things going so well and that you have each other's backs. Have fun be safe and keep us posted.
Great to see your smiling faces! We were worried. It was a good thing you were there so you and J&K could compare paperwork. That surely saved them a few hassles.
Glad that everything has been working out and you're all safe and having a good time :) Looking forward to more videos from both channels!
LMAO 😂 Very funny video! Be sure to keep that sketchy feeling healthy and stay on your toes, you made it to Mexico we want you to make it back, WITH Pamela. Oh also don't drink the water.💧😁
Have a great time in Mexico. What a great way to start with a great night sleep & no line up at the pumps! You 4 are bonding fast!
Continued safe travels.
The weather! The food!! The fun exploring!!! Cannot wait for the updates to come :)

Aye, yai yai!!!😬 What a trip. I'd worry more about coming back to US.😂 Frank!!!💋💓🐾Did the food taste as good as it looked?😋 Love you guys! Have fun for me too!😘💖
I do not like the border crossings from Alaska to Canada and Canada to the Lower 48. Done it a dozen times and still can never tell if it will go smooth or not. YAY, glad everything is falling into place and you are relaxing into the different vibe.
Love this series!
i have been to monterrey twice, it's a beautiful city, partied at the disco. awesome city. i miss going there.
Goodness! I worried about what had happened to you guys. Glad you’re okay.
I was getting very worried for you guys because the day you crossed in Mexico you stopped posting. Glad you made it across safely but wish you had updated us that you were at least ok! Be safe and keep the vlogs coming i'm so looking forward to following your journey!
Kat Bar
Take a breath. They’re grownups
Thanks to their failure to keep their fans abreast while they enter a “FAILED STATE,” both the American Embassy and the Laredo police department have been informed these 4 exist. Better people than these 4 have died in Mexico while simply passing through.
Wendy Davis
Thanks mom
Wendy Davis ... "Better people than these 4"? Better how?
@@thorgodofthunder2713 Yeah, grown-ups in a dangerous place. We were all worried.
Cheering you guys on! "ten cuidado por ahi"
Gladd your border crossing and that stress is behind you guys 👍🏻👍🏻
Oh my Gosh...very familiar with Laredo Tex border crossing. You are brave. Friends I used to cross with will not even consider going there now....The area by the police station was the dangerous area....
Yay! So glad to see this video! Keep us posted, have fun!
Great to see all of you again !! Now I can sit back in my seat again !! 👍👍
I’m so glad you’re there and safely through the border. I guess a note to the viewers is Buses are way more expensive/hassle than a van? Lol.
Super helpful information, and glad you all made it fine! :)
Thanks for the videos, looks like you guys are having fun, be safe and thanks
Keep on having a wonderful adventure… Hugs from Philadelphia…
Awesome... Bring me back a souvenir, :)
Didn't mean to make you more nervous before your crossing, so sorry about that. Just thinking about you always and wishing you safe and happy trails. Xoxoxox!
That was great t hear that u passed the exams.but mexico city is still there to give u big surprises.keep it up both of couplings😉
Hey there's a weird thing happening with RUclips today. Your video popped up on my recommended with "No views". And had to be shown as uploaded 2 hours ago. Then I got a notification like 20 minutes later that your video was uploaded. So if there's a drop in views with this video, it may be because your subscribers aren't getting notified. Might not be a bad idea to make some extra posts on other social medias. And use this as a way to advertise your patreon. ;) Can't miss updates there. RUclips can be like this sometimes. Love this series!
Super excited for you guys! Have an awesome time on your new adventure 😍
You guys be careful, and just bring’em back......have a great time.
So glad to see you guys made it. supper excited for you guys and have fun :)
Have fun guys!!
Hope you guys have a safe trip ... be safe and have a ton of fun.
Dang bus life. Wonder what ours would’ve cost to cross?!!
I'm so glad your safe, and had a good nights rest. I don't want to be one of those negative people, but want to warn you the further you get into Mexico don't believe the Policia are there to protect you. They can be just as bad as the local thieves. I'm talking from experience so please be careful. Love & Peace
They will have to learn this the hard way
Hey from Louisiana !! Safe Travels
Congrats!!! Stay safe! Woo hoo guys! So happy for you!
Glad everyone is ok
