I don't even have kids and still found myself watching the whole video. Also, the lineup of those four kids at 0:48 reminded me of a cassette. I think I'll start referring to that kid that rode for the Cervelo test team as 'granny gear'.
Excellent video as always. I love that you include how to fit the real young kids to their bikes. Your channel brought me into cycling and have kept me engaged and challenged throughout the years! Thanks!
Thats a nice video. Well done.. Those balance bikes are excellent for the younger kids to learn...balance! My four year old son went from a balance bike to a 16inch wheel pedal bike with no problem. He rode it on his first attempt without training wheels. Granted, a little wobbly, but he got it.
Nice Video. I found myself struggeling with finding a bike for my size (I'm about 1,60m, or 5'30") as an male adult. Finally, in 2015, I found the Genesis Col Du Glandon (Version 2014) with 650b wheels in my local bike shop. It was perfect from the beginning. Since then, I take cycling more serious, with longer tours and better equipment (and watching GCN ;) ). The market for short people is pretty comprehensible in my opinion. Islabike is a good example for doing things right. Another approach for me are women-specific bikes, which don't come with lilac and/or flowers. I really enjoy this development and I'm looking forward for the things to come.
Islabikes rock, had already 7 of them for my kids. An honourable mention also goes to Woom Bikes from my beautiful hometown Vienna/Austria, great bikes too! #islabikes #woombikes
Suuuuuuper cute kids! Need another vid w/them - "Albie's micro-cyclocross tips". The other two did a smashing job as well...w/no named credit for their performance! (shame on GCN, those kids need their props, too) Future GCN presenters for sure! The older two could do videos like: riding w/mom & dad, how to ride safely with friends, or encouraging friends to wear their helmets, ...kids perspective stuff. Great Vid, GCN!!!
thank you so much! i will try this out. since i use a low saddle i will try a higher saddle it has made my wrist pain hurt even more ever since i put it to a low saddle thank you!
Make sure he has Di2 or he'll never learn properly. Oh and BB386EVO is a must or else he's wasting too much energy, frame flex is an issue even without cranks.
Credit to Islabikes but you should have mentioned Hope and their new academy where kids can rent high end bikes and change as they grow bigger. Great idea.
On the video grid on youtube the title is shortened to 'Kids Bike Sizes: How To Choose The Right Children...' A video about getting the right size child would be equally helpful GCN.
I'm an adult, yet that islabike Luath 700 seems to be perfectly rideable by me. The Luath 700 pro version would almost something I wouldn't feel silly on.
Growing up in Soviet Russia we didn't have much selection for the sizes, so after a toddler bike we would just ride our father's adult bike by threading one leg into the front triangle under the top tube, and standing up on the pedals. Any of you guys can relate to that?
Sort of ... we got one bike while growing up and it was supposed to last until we moved out of the house. When we turned 10 or 12 dad bought us all 26" Schwinn 3-speed (Sturmey Archer) bikes with the riser style handlebars (lots of sweep). Mine lasted through college. Don't think I ever replaced anything but the brake pads.
Yuri Rayzberg yup. In Indonesia we have these vintage bikes. Some elementary schoolers can ride those. Just push it. Let it run. Then climb and pedal by standing... Always standing. As if you sit on the saddle. Your legs won't reach the pedal
they're so adorable, just wondered though what is the best age to start biking? and at which height should you change from a balance bike to a normal bike
Hello ^_^ i am your huge fan and i have some question . Which bike is better? Dogma f8 , Trek madone 9.5 It is really hard to choose it. I really want to know your thinking !
This bike was really easy to assemble ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
I think I'm a little late to the kids bike party considering both my kids are in their 40's now and my grandkids are more into video games than cycling. Back in my day you rode whatever bike you could get your hands on and size and comfort as well as stabilizer wheels be damned.
Abbie is about the same size and has the sprint position of Caleb Ewan, not Si. Thus, the "Chip off the ole'block" is a major misstatement. BTW, the girl with braids did a better delivery that Tom did his first time out.
I had a full rigid Schwinn mountain bike. If I had an isalabike I might have picked up road cycling much earlier in life. All we had was bmx bikes, new fangled mountain bikes, and adults 10-speed bikes. I opted for mountain because there was never a way for me to fit on my dads bike.
I don't even have kids and still found myself watching the whole video. Also, the lineup of those four kids at 0:48 reminded me of a cassette. I think I'll start referring to that kid that rode for the Cervelo test team as 'granny gear'.
That little kid just made everyones day.
Aero Albie, what a ledge!
next up is the hour record.
Hmmm is there a "Balance Bike Hour Record"? ;)
Go for it @Global Cycling Network!
Albie has my vote for next GCN presenter
How about Jude Lloyd?
We want Albie as a GCN presenter!! Forget nursery school, get on you tube Albie
ಪಠಪ
That little kid is already mastering the Froomey Aero Tuck, good lad!
Excellent video as always. I love that you include how to fit the real young kids to their bikes. Your channel brought me into cycling and have kept me engaged and challenged throughout the years! Thanks!
This could be your most important bike purchase, so here's how to get it right.
Really good, informative info thanks. I also presume you both have to be this patient when filming with Matt Stevens...?
we sure do....
The Mig Cycling: the most important is to check, whether the seat post has quick release or not. Especially if you have more kids in different sizes.
GCN balance bike challenge? Do they make those in adult sizes?
hi. what's the bike that the young lady is using?
It looks like you all had a lot of fun making this video. I'm sharing this without all my friends with kids. Thanks for making this.

Tom Last was really being a problem on this shoot.
awesome, more kids videos please! I have 16 month old that is just getting ready to dominate in his first season of kiddie cross this fall!
Islabikes rock, had already 7 of them for my kids. An honourable mention also goes to Woom Bikes from my beautiful hometown Vienna/Austria, great bikes too! #islabikes #woombikes
I'm 16 and I don't even have any kids. would just like to see good content from GCN! Hi from the Philippines. :)
great addition! create a play list please: choosing a child helmet, teaching to ride the bike, balance bike vs bike? kids bike mainteance....
Royal Crescent, many a mineral water has been consumed there on Bath University summer ball day!! Great vid.
Are those kids Matt's grand grand grand sons and daugther ? Joke aside, really nice video ;)
thanks Arthur.
Can't be - they didn't have any problems clipping in.
Did ya a miss the 'learn with gandad' video Matt done some time back LOLz...
Mazurizi 😂😂😂😂😂
'Granddad' could use an oversized balance bike.
Nooo riding out the saddle on the top of the handlebars :D
Great video
So, we're all agreed Albie is the newest GNC presenter? 😁 ❤️
Suuuuuuper cute kids! Need another vid w/them - "Albie's micro-cyclocross tips". The other two did a smashing job as well...w/no named credit for their performance! I'm 18 and have no plans of having kids for a very long time yet but very entertaining nonetheless!
I can only imagine how many takes were required for this video. Good lad.
very few actually :-)
I see the kids are already doing better than their parents!
Good timing: In the next couple of weeks I will be taking my grandson for a balance bike. I'm thinking CARBON ;)
let us know how you get on Doug!
Doug Hungerford don't forget di2s and zipps😆
Buy titanium with graphene fork.
Make sure he has Di2 or he'll never learn properly. Oh and BB386EVO is a must or else he's wasting too much energy, frame flex is an issue even without cranks.
Get him Etap 😀
Credit to Islabikes but you should have mentioned Hope and their new academy where kids can rent high end bikes and change as they grow bigger. Great idea.
My little boy has been struggling with his ballance until last week, One proud mum
The kids seem to be having tons of fun....nice vid!
On the video grid on youtube the title is shortened to 'Kids Bike Sizes: How To Choose The Right Children...' A video about getting the right size child would be equally helpful GCN.
Next program on kids cycling kits? I'd like to find a pair of winter shoes like those blue boots! Great location for the vid!
Simon looking like a giant near that red bike :)
he's a man mountain
Best video of 2017!
I'm an adult, yet that islabike Luath 700 seems to be perfectly rideable by me. The Luath 700 pro version would almost something I wouldn't feel silly on.
Omg my heart is MELTING! 💖🇬🇧👶🏻🚴♀️🚴🏻🚴🏻
#torqeback which videos have more takes, this one or with Matt?
They're so F'n adorable. I just got my 4 year old a bike. ❤️❤️❤️👍🏼🚴🏻♀️
is Albie Simon's son ? he's so adorable!!
that little kid on the balance bike is going to be the next chris froom :D
Where can I get wellies like Albie & do they make them for adults? Stylish & can be used as breaks. I need a pair of them! Albie is adorable!
Big fan of Albie. More Albie!
But was his seat a bit low? Didn't seem like he could glide very well.

Folding Aist didnt have the toptube! Although idk what year they started producing it

I love this family
Albie needs his own GCN Jacket! oh wait, he needs a whole kit!
Yes
This is so adorable!
@ Dan Lloyd - Plan a kids bike show with Jude and his road bike :)
they're so adorable, just wondered though what is the best age to start biking? and at which height should you change from a balance bike to a normal bike
hi, thanks for the message, you can find loads and loads of information here > gcn.eu/IslaBikes
tnx, but wierd, apparently the page doesn't load
this video is so cute nice helmets as well
Thank you for this video!
Good advice.
Gave you like just for featuring that adorable kid
GCN, Please introduce the kids!
Awesome video, cute kids.
I thought for a second, that Simon had very pretty nails! But no its a Lady in the same color of Jacket.
Thank you
1:12 I like the red fingernail Si! Is it GCN-red?
Hello ^_^ i am your huge fan and i have some question . Which bike is better? Dogma f8 , Trek madone 9.5 It is really hard to choose it. I really want to know your thinking !
Global Childcare Network for the day
Pounding it at the Royal Crescent!
Wouldn't it be safer to have sneakers than boots? Love the show.
The kids are great!
If he keeps going like that, we'll have to call him Albie D'Huez! What a little legend...
See, this is where Dan & Si' are going waaaaaaay wrong with presenting style: just flick that tongue at the camera & there ya go ! LOL
Are those Si's kids or Dan's? They are so adorable!
So guys how many takes did it take to do this and Albie ur a legend and I see they had tom's bike there to

Albie as the next GCN presenter!
this video made me so happy XD
I think I'm a little late to the kids bike party considering both my kids are in their 40's now and my grandkids are more into video games than cycling. Back in my day you rode whatever bike you could get your hands on and size and comfort as well as stabilizer wheels be damned.
5:18 Simon's serious face is intense
And the GCN Award for most charming presenter goes to....
Albie!
Great video!
3:30 Simon looks GIANT compared to that bike
Great Video!!!
It's true what they say "don't work with children or animals" and yet you guys work with wee Albie and Matt
The children are so cute!!
when you don't care but just want GCN
They are so cute😍
hi GCN, what is the cheapest bike trainer for a 7 year old boy? is 20inch the minimum wheel size for a bike trainer?... thanks, GCN
hi, as far as we know 20in is the smallest wheel size to fit on a trainer yes, Cannot remember off the top of my head who makes it though. thanks, Jon
Julio Meza pretty sure cycleops go 20-29. Some of the smaller wheels need a little adapter on certain trainers
Si has potentials to be a good father!
Albie can certainly utilize a TT helmet before he has cranks.
this video could also be of use for some of our more vertically challenged adults....
Adorable
Abbie is about the same size and has the sprint position of Caleb Ewan, not Si. Thus, the "Chip off the ole'block" is a major misstatement.
BTW, the girl with braids did a better delivery that Tom did his first time out.
Thank you for telling us how to measure someone's height
That video is super cute
#wattagebazooka Albie!
could you guys do a training video to improve endurance but only like an hour long
for kids?
really good video
I wish Simon could pick the right bike for MY children too. If you catch my drift...
Are you going to have similar cute kids for sale in the GCN Shop soon? p.s Albie looks like he would fit in with the GMBN lads.
Nice video
When you have the same group set as a small child ... :/
0:22 that moment when he almost falls.
nice vid - informative and useful :-)
I would have killed for a fitted bike at that girls age I had to ride on the same steel bike ages 10-14 the only thing that went up was the saddle.
What is this place ? looks awesome to take kids for a day out (don't mind my ignorance, i'm french ;) )
It is in Bath.
Royal Crescent, Bath
EVERY child has had an islabike. I certainly have.
In the US every child has a walmart bike LOL
I had a full rigid Schwinn mountain bike. If I had an isalabike I might have picked up road cycling much earlier in life. All we had was bmx bikes, new fangled mountain bikes, and adults 10-speed bikes. I opted for mountain because there was never a way for me to fit on my dads bike.
They are so cut! :)
good lad!
Is that Simon's son? The youngest one? :D
