Man, I love this collaboration 😄 there are a ton of Western Games that I need to look into now and after watching this video I went ahead and order a copy of Circle The Wagons 😬
Check out pioneer days... extremely thematic and some dice drafting goodness. However, leftover dice affect the disaster tracker. So you need to prep for either famine, disease, storms or bandits. Great game.. do yourselves a favour and check it out!
Speaking of western games, have you heard of the Van Ryder Graphic Novel games? There's a specific one from the series called "Your Town" which is western-themed and I would love to see you do a playthrough of it... or any of the other games, to be honest!
I saw that! Thanks for hanging out! I’m so stoked for the KS as well! It’ll be nice to have the nice dry erase version instead of my laminated sheets I’ve been testing with! And that awesome themed deck of cards too! 🤠
How about Tiny Epic Western? I haven’t played it, but it looks more interesting to me than some of the other games in the series. Have either of you played it?
I have! It ultimately felt like someone looked at Carson City, and decided to make a watered down version and threw some poker in it, for some reason. But, having said that, those who haven’t played Carson City may enjoy it more than I did!
@@colcakes196 Good to know! I like Carson City a lot, but can’t really play it solo. So I may have to try TEW since it has what looks like a decent solo mode.
@@jannagregory7928 Well if it doesn’t pan out, Carson City has a solo mode coming out with the Kickstarter for the Big Box reprint (hopefully later this year!), and if that’s not soon enough, I do enjoy the solo experience of Carson City: The Card Game.
@@tabletoptokki there wasn't for many years, but I saw one pop up somewhat recently (or a year ago, what is time anymore?) But I never know if that's enough to pull the trigger having no experience beforehand.
Oh I can see the word! It’s just fuzzy like the cattle I discard at different buildings. If someone can explain that to me, the theme may shine a little better.
I wish we had more mid weight western themed games. Bang - I like. I played both the card game and the dice game and they can have one of the funniest and lowest points in western theme games IMHO. So... they are a double edge sword type of game. I am not a fan of the player elimination so the dice game really helps to have a shorter experience. Gold West - Looks like a game I would kind of like. But I have yet to try it. Cardson City - Feels interesting, but there is something I just do not like about the presentation. GWT and Western Legends just seem like big overproduced kind of meh games. I know this is a very unpopular opinion though. Deadwood from FF is one that caught my attention at the time but was never able to try it. It did not get much appreciation it seems, nobody ever talks about it anymore. I wonder if a redesign/reworked new version would interest anyone. Cheers
Deadwood originally caught my eye as well, but I quickly passed on it for… some reason that's been lost with tkme? Something about poker hands perhaps? 🤔 I can't speak for Western Legends or the newer editions of GTW but the original GWT printing felt very well-produced and functional-- not overproduction imo. 🤗
@@tabletoptokki I didn't remember Deadwoood having poker hands 😅 I only remember Town and Cowboy tiles/tokens, dice for duels and the railroad being built. I am glad GWT is not overproduced... You might have just convinced me to give it a try if I get the chance 🤓👍
I haven’t! I just checked it out though and I’m thoroughly intrigued! I’ve played Your Town, which was a fun time, but this one might be a better experience for me. I might be getting it in the future!
Oooh I've seen a few (Stone Age, Paleo, etc.) and there have been some reskins (Kingdomino Origins, for example) but yeah... that'd be an awesome theme! Do you have a favorite in that genre?
@@tabletoptokki I plan on getting Moogh by Niklas Hook, and Neanderthal by Phil Eklund. I own Tribes by Steve Jackson, and Carcassonne: Hunters and Gatherers by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede and Bernd Brunnhofer. Tribes is what started me on my stone age game hunt.
You are not alone. As you soon as you said Vincent DuTrait I was thinking how much I prefer his environment art to his character art.
Ahhh glad I'm not the only one! 😅

Ooh I have not! I'm not very partial to story-driven games, but it sounds like a cool concept! 😊
I’ve done a couple of plays of it! It was a fun time! I’d be down to see it happen as well! 🤠
Great video ☺️ ! Thanks for introducing me to those games I didn't know... Apart from Bang (don't have this one but the The walking dead version)
Awesome!! Glad you found some new games to look into. 😄
Cool video! I love the Western theme. I'm excited for the Flip Town Kickstarter! Good to meet you Collin. I just followed on IG.
Also excited for Flip Town; can't wait to try it. ^^

@@colcakes196 Ah, cool! I wasn’t aware-I already have the big box, so hope I’ll be able to just get the solo mode addition. 😃
Gold West is my absolute #1 in terms of wishing it had an official solo mode. I love the art and color scheme, and everything about it.
I really need to try it! No luck for an unofficial solo mode in the BGG forums? 🤔

Good video. What about Coloma? Some interesting mechanics and not super heavy.
Oooh hadn't heard of this one! On first glance it looks really cool; will have to make a note to do further research. 😊
I have it, but still haven’t gotten to play it! 😬 I’ve read through the rules for it twice, but it just hasn’t made it to the table.
Western boardgame ambassador who doesn‘t see the Western in Great Western Trail?? 😂
Idk, it's pretty hidden... it's between a whole other two words! 🤭

3- Western Legends
4- Nevada city
5- Colt Express
