I am the Great granddaughter of Marguerite Olga O’Brien she was born in 1890-1892 in Cork ,Ireland is what information was giving to me by my Aunt. Her fathers name is Calvin O’Brien.. she passed away when she was 32 in America giving birth to my grandfathers brother. I want so bad to find out more about her and her father but so little info comes from the family. How can I find out more about my Great Grandmother and her Father Calvin O’Brien? Thanks for any information.
Hi family! My 3x great-grandfather Lucius O'Brien (1829-1875) married a Chinese lady Ijong Djim Nio (death:1908) in West Sumatra, Indonesia. However, I cannot find any trace of his origins and/or how he ended up in Indonesia/Asia. Does anybody know of an O'Brien branch that ventured to Indonesia/Asia? Thanks so much! Jade
Dennis, I am so glad to see someone care about their people and our History. I believe it is very important to educate our children. I would love to see the homeland. I couln't agree with you more.
Wonderful presentation Dennis and the comments of Sir Conor O'Brien at the end of your talk was inspirational. It is Great to be an O'BRIEN!! Hopefully the O'Brien families living in Ireland will be moved to join the "O'Brien Group" on Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) and submit their O'Brien DNA.
would this Rl226 exist in someone who is only half Irish as my father is from Prussia , my mother was an O'Brien is this only passed by the father or would it be present in my DNA ?
Thank you very much Dennis and Conor- I agree with Kevin that the presentations were inspirational and very interesting. Thanks to Kevins work and sleuthing, I was able to visit the St Stephano church in Rome recently and found the inscription on the wall. A great moment and great to see one of the cousins mentioned in the latin inscription.
Hello , I'm working on a genealogy of a ancestor born in Ireland province of Munster named Ocrotagh later Ocrotty then Crotty , trails keep leading to Obriens , it a big puzzle...of history , great video .
originally i was born with the last name Obregon, and I've always been told by my family that we have Irish roots. So if I'm interested in finding out more where should I begin?
do you know in mexico that Obregon was a major general who became president. you are O'Brien dear. I wish someone would have answered you. A very proud history you have!!!!
Christopher Melendez, where were your Obregon? I asked because the surname exist in Cuba; and I have a Fuentes surname who was in Cuba; however the Haplogroup is FGC5628/Y4010 which is Irish. Thanks Teresa
I thought that Brian Boru was descended from the Merovingian kings of southern France, specifically Dagobert II. But then agins that was by marriage and does not point to the origin of the Irish DalCais, But weren't the Irish pre-Christian DalCais considered infidels because they refused to perform human sacrifice?
Hello...Thank you for your great work...5 members of my family were caught making pikes to fight the British in Waterford...and transported to Van demons land...the one that got away was taken into service by Lord Waterford...he is my great grandfather...born in about 1835...the others were his brothers...We have elected a family member to DNA with you....any info...on men of Iron...on your shores?
