  • Flying airplanes comes with a lot of responsibility. There are times when the decisions you make can be tough. In this video we fly the TBM850 on a flight with bad weather. I am giving away a Garmin VIRB360 Camera. To enter all you have to do is leave a comment on this video telling us what you would film with the new camera, like the video, and share it! Good luck to everyone.

Hello fellow Steveo fan: every Vlog he posts is like a present to us. Now he is putting a VIRB for us on top of it. I want to invite you to join me and many others that already support Steveo on Patreon. It is the least you can do. The next thing is to invite others to see his videos and smash even more Like Buttons. What are you waiting for? Go, please, and thank you!!

I was a patron, and the only reason I stopped is that I could not come to terms in using any of my disposal income , after savings, to be used other than helping the poor. If I won millions I’d buy a PC-12 and do humanitary flying. In the meantime I send clothing, food, money to the underprivaleged in the carribeans and South America. I lived amongst the poor in the Dominican Republic for one year and I was shocked to see how some kids live. Truly heartbraking. I do love the chanenel.👍

Wow, you snuck in there with almost nothing to spare,.. in '97 I did one of those and ran into a downshear that gave us quite a bump! And was like bringing down a bucking bull, but eerily enough the last 40' to the ground was still and smooth (actually a steady crosswind, but compared to the edge of the storm was smooth!) And going to admit getting caught in a sucker hole that closed in my route before as well..nothing quite is like the experience being in red cells with water that is like being under the waves in the ocean, and buffeting around until your teeth feel like they are being loosened..and nothing feels as good as getting through that and coming out into some relatively decent weather after! Oh and I would LOVE to have the Garmin 360, and the images from those is outstanding! And I feel their aviation equipment and camera lines are the top notch of what is available, but even the sunglasses would be great too!

Hey Steveo, you are a huge inspiration to many people out there to get into aviation. As a student and (hopefully) future commercial pilot myself, I have learned a lot about the life of a professional pilot from your vlogs. I'm starting at a great aviation school this fall (UND), and would love to have the Garmin VIRB camera to record some of my adventures over the next four years and after. I'm sure a lot of people want that camera, and I don't have any particularly 'inspiring' tales about why I would deserve it or should win. I just want to be able to share my flights with my friends, family, and other aspiring pilots. I have my PPL check ride the day after next, so winning this camera would be a great way to start off my lifetime career in aviation! Keep up the great videos!

Steve - outstanding video!! As a new IFR pilot, it was super educational. The two best points were your thinking on the alternate and working the decision making process for it and the second was moving the missed approach. Just my thoughts but the regional plane was not even thinking about the missed approach, great thinking ahead.

As a new private pilot that is currently working on my instrument rating, your videos are so helpful and educational. No matter how rudimentary your flight may seem to a seasoned pilot like yourself, I always learn from watching you fly. I've often wondered how to deal with a situation such as this, with weather moving in quickly and blocking published missed, I now know how to communicate with ATC to get a safe alternate. As a new pilot at 41 years of age, who is mostly flying my family to and from, I wanted to say thanks for continuing the educational and entertaining videos. I know a lot of work goes into this so thank you! If I were to win the Garmin VIRB360 I would use it to debrief with my instructor to become a better and safer pilot. Knowing that I have the lives of my loved ones on board pushes me to be the best I can be as a pilot.
As a long boarder, I hope that Boosted Boards will sponsor you in the future because that is one thing I would love to have to get around the airport and be able to keep up with my 11 year old, which has a ton more energy than I do! Please keep the videos coming Steveo and congratulations on all the success!

Don't attempt the needle threading he did in this video. Playing chicken with thunderstorms, especially without in cockpit weather radar is a recipe for hurt. Be safe with you and your family...an instrument rating is not a license to challenge big weather.

I just experienced the “get-there-itis” for the first time trying to fly down to Florida. You did a great job in the decision making process. I’d like to enter into win the Garmin because I am going to start filming my flights in an effort to bring more aviation content to RUclips. With me being in the northeast US I think I could bring some excellent awareness to what it is like making decisions with weather since weather varies so drastically in the northeast. All the best and looking forward to the next VLOG!

    • @niklaspilot
      @niklaspilot 5 лет назад +1

2-mile final on a Cessna is only slightly faster than grass growing. At two miles out you're still probably at 600 to 800 feet up. That's like a minute and a half to touch down.

Stevo! I love watching your videos. They're informative and interesting. I started on my license about the time you started flying commercially. I had a child and needed to postpone my dream. I'm heading back to lessons tomorrow, living a dream, and showing my children dreams are attainable! I'd love to film my lessons and share for others going through the process as well! Keep up the good work!

Hey Steveo! I love all your videos and they have been very useful in my training as a student naval aviator. I especially pay attention to your IFR stuff and the decisions you make in the air. I notice a lot of similarities to our training. I’d love to use the camera to record my military aviation career. Keep up the great vids!

Good old fashioned Steveo1Kinevo video. Really good! It was very educational watching you handle the missed approach procedure dilemma. Well done. Glad you filmed this flight.

That looked like it was a one chance only approach. Great job and love your videos. Been watching since I started training for my private pilot now I am instrument rated and working on commercial. Keep up the great work!

That flight brings back memories of a flight early in my flying career where while on final a storm was moving on field with lighting and rain about 5 miles out and moving in. Best feeling in the world to be on the ground prior to it hitting he field.

Great video, as usual, nice lesson as to how to handle a missed approach that takes you into worse weather. Thanks!

Great video as always. Reminding pilots and pax that it is not always just a simple takeoff and get there.....you need to be flexible and safe. Did remind me of your 2016 flight. That camera would be a great start to sharing my love of flying with others and getting them exited (hopefully) to want to fly themselves. Great to see you again at AirVenture. Stay safe and keep sharing the wonderful world of aviation.

As you requested Steveo! I'm about to finish my CPL and want to start filming more of my flights! In all the years that I have been flying, I've never taken my kids up and this would help capture that moment! Keep the videos coming and also the IG stories!

Without question, this is the best aviation show on the web! Stevo, you are a joy to watch and listen too and an inspiration to us GA flyers! Gives me hope I might make it to a profession. Thank you and keep it up! Ps love “getthereitus”

Again a great and educational video steveo!
It’s amazing how cool and objective are you making decisions!
I can believe how hard it is sometimes whether you divert or continue the flight even as a single pilot in such a complex and fast airplane like the TBM.
Currently Working on my CPL right now and every VLOG is like a lesson for me!
I would use the camera to brief myself after every flight to get an other perspective about what I’ve done.
Greetings from Berlin and keep on your great job!

Love the videos, Steve. Love to have a Garmin 360 to try out taking my own videos while flying. Thanks for the videos.
