✨ Answering some FAQ's: Cleaning the blender is not hard at all! Everything comes off easily on its own, and rinsing it with a bit of soap cleans everything thoroughly. It's just paper, water, and food coloring, so nothing toxic to worry about. If you don't have a mesh bag, you could use cheese cloth, fine metal mesh, or even a piece of fabric. Just something that you sponge the water off of. Also, if you don't have a blender or don't want to use one, soaking the paper in water for a few hours will soften it, and then you can use your hands to mush it into pulp. I hope this helps! Thank you for all your lovely comments! 😊
@@littlefreakashie I'm sure you will do a great job mushing, but of course you will get even better with practice. You could also cut up your paper before soaking if you want to ensure maximum mushiness!
Heyy! Can I use this for my project? I'll put this video in the reference list. Also, can you mix it finely without a blender?? And in other tutorials, they said to soak it. Should I still do it or is there no need for that??
@@DGXD-te3iq Of course you can use this video! And yes, you can do it without a blender. You'll want to soak it so that the paper gets soft, and then mix it up the best you can with your hands. I hope your project goes well!
this is an older video, but i wanted to throw out there that in regards to the flowers, you can add them to the actual pulp and it makes it so that it essentially is a part of the paper. i don't know if it was mentioned, but i wanted to throw it out there. lovely video anyway, i'm gonna try it out soon.
I tried your method and it worked!! I've been wanting to make paper for weeks but was having trouble finding stuff to make a mould and deckle. I ended up using mesh from a guy's bathing suit and a circular baking pan to make circle paper. Thank you for this!
Omg!!!!! I have this project for Ancient China, and I have to make paper. I have tried 20 different types of recipes and this one is the one I know it!! It looks amazing. Thank you sooooooooo much!!!
Very creative and you taught me a new word (trigonometric). I'm making my Christmas cards this year and was very excited to see this video! Thank you for sharing this!
I think the first method would work if you put the mesh in a picture frame! That’s basically what a deckle is anyway. Also, flat-dried flower petals work great in the paper!
Thank you for this! If I don't find a spare picture frame to use or screen material to make a homemade deckle I'll try this instead, and the food colouring part was so fun lol
Thumb up for the lofi music and your beautiful handwriting! I'd love to know if the papers had any describable scent, and what you did with them after creating?
so glad you enjoyed! they smelled a little like lavender, but only up close; i'm sure adding more flowers would increase the scent. and i used them to make christmas cards!
Thank you I have had a stack of paper I've been wanting to make paper with for quite some time but I didn't have a deckel thing either. So I must be off because I'm going to make paper
Loved the video and how you tried to use materials everyone can find. Also, what pen did you use at the end of the video, im on the hunt for a nice pen to write out my notes and so far i didn't find one i love 😂
thank you so much! It's either the 0.38mm or 0.5mm ballpoint pen from Muji (I use both of them regularly). I recommend them, and there are lots of colors too. I hope you find a great pen, I love shopping for stationery!

thank you so much for this! I have a literal bag full of used notebooks and old worksheets that I feel so bad about throwing away. I was looking online, and deckles are about 20-30 dollars! i thought they'd be like, 5-10 dollars, I mean it's only some mesh and wood, but i guess not 🤷♀️
Not sure about this I never tried it, but I am thinking you could put the wet paper pulp in a juicer and the water would collect in one side of the juicer while the damp paper pulp would collect in the other part of the catch the pulp. Never tried it though may work may not. It's just a thought
@@thegreenestlaw Not sure if it would work though might strain out the paper pulp alone with the water if the paper is too saturated and broken down. I would think .
Use fabric dye (rit) instead of food coloring ... but don't put it in a blender that you are going to use for food. Perhaps do the coloring part in a mason jar after it come out of the blender.

I was hoping she would comment on any scent the lavender gave to the paper, or any scent the paper inherently had from the notes/ink.
Nice,
I covered it with a towel and used a rolling pin to flatten it while it was still wet
omg - genius! I will try that, thank you!
