- With the recent news that their flagship continental sedan will end production, no one’s quite sure what’s going on over at Lincoln these days. Well that is other than selling a whole lot of SUVs. And if you’re going to do it, you might as well do it with rare-style, like the Navigator Black Label.

MotorWeek: The Lincoln Navigator acts a bit slow off the line
Lincoln Navigator: haha 6000lb SUV goes 0-60 in under 6 seconds
Less than six seconds, damn good. Great a clue.
I don't get the popularity of SUVs. The Continental was an amazing design for Lincoln.
@Eddy Jean That and my friends and family who own them say they like the higher seating position. The Conti was available with AWD. I'll stick with sedans, thanks, since I prefer a lower center of gravity; well unless I ever needed a tow vehicle
@Eddy Jean Yes, I know most are built off car platforms (called CUVS, or crossovers) but don't think that an extra 6" or so of seat height will go unnoticed. Take the Lexus ES and RX, or their Toyota counterparts the Camry and Highlander. All are built off of Toyota's TNGA-K platform and the CUVs sit noticeably higher than the sedans. Even the Sienna van is built off of the same platform. My wife's parents state easier ingress and egress as their main reason for preferring the RX to the ES.
@Eddy Jean truck based SUVs make more sense to me, as a tradesperson with a growing family would tend to gravitate to something he or she is used to driving, and can still use for work in a pinch.
@Todd Saeger My thing is design and styling. I'd rather have a stylish car than a truck.
I love my continental
I'd love one as a vacation rental car.
The fastest car is a rental car. Plus who cares if you hit a curb.
That’s exactly what Lincoln dosent want you to do lol
The drone shots caught me off guard - in a good way...
When I see one of those behind me on the road, that big grill tells me get out of the way you lil veloster you !!! Ahah
Yet at the end they love it. Goes to show Lincoln still has a great suv with no upgrades yet.. Awesome.
It’s gorgeous but the need a full size sedan.
They did but no one bought it.
@@relaxitsme_alex9104 yeah because build quality was pitful and a 6 speed trans that couldn't handle the power dulled what should have been a smash hit
@@aayonce4 its unfortunate because I loved the way the continentals look but that was a deal breaker for me
@@relaxitsme_alex9104 yup they are great used purchases though but even still a 6 speed trans is horrendous
Or because they're shifting to SUVs n trucks
My mortgage is cheeper than that car😱😱😱
Mine Too. But, as I also say about a fully decked out F-250 Platinum, if you're planning on living in it, it's one hell of a deal!
Love the front the rear tho 😑😑
"Love the front the rear"...lol, can someone translate??
I feel you Miguel. I love the front, but the rear is lame.
The Navigator is the best large luxury SUV available. Even though the Escalade should be better by virtue of it coming out now and Cadillac having had a clear target to aim at with the Navigator, Ford did a beautiful job with its design and it certainly looks more elegant and classy. The interior is a beautiful place to be in and it also has a very modern and refined drivetrain with plenty of power.
The good thing is that the 2021 Cadillac Escalade caught up with the Lincoln Navigator!
Justin Smith, agreed. Competition is a good thing and will make them both even better going forward.
@@BinaryReplicant Exactly! They both have great future ahead of them especially Cadillac! after I seen the Cadillac Lyriq EV, Cadillac seems to be going in the right direction!
Looking up vehicles I can't afford
Let's see...the Navigator vs the Escalade. Both are relatively high, but a bargain in interior volume vs a Land Rover for example. The Navigator looks more classical inside and outside. The new Escalade looks like a stamped face, but has a nicer interior by far. Imo, just your personal preference. I still prefer the previous gen Escalade for the styling.
Like the Aviator Size and style
I would take this over any range rover or any Escalade but in light blue interior with white wood I wish it had a f150 shelby engine in it then I would really love it
Huge computer 🖥 with wheels. Where are cool american full size sedans?
A good looking SUV aside from the wheels.
John spoke oddly slow in this review
Yeah I noticed that too. He's only 72.
The front looks BEAUTIFUL but why does the back need to have such a big bulky lightbar? As a European I sometimes ask myself... do American car designers always choose a lightbar when they are out of ideas for the rear lights? I've seen that so many times.
That rear lightbar looks like a leftover from 10+ years ago. Anything with that price tag should not have a bad side.
I like most lightbars. The ones on some Dodges and on other Lincolns look nice, IMO. But I agree, this one looks like crap. No inspiration there at all.
@@frankburns8871 The ones on Dodge Charger or the latest Audi A7 look nice because they have a dynamic form and the lines flow nicely. On this Navigator however, it's a big, boring chunk.
You guys couldn't shoot an image for your own video thumbnail? Had to steal an image from Galpin Auto Sports? That's weird!
I'd still much rather have a V8 than that Ecoturd V6.
May i reup this video to Xe Ford Phú Mỹ Chanel in Viet Nam, to Introducing to Vietnamese , thank You so much.
Perfect vehicle when it comes on the used car market in about 5 years. Should be worth about $30,000 in 2025, maybe less.
Why did Lincoln decide the Navigator doesn’t need a V8, and Cadillac decided the Escalade still does? Doesnt make sense to me - why does a F150 have a V8 but the top trim Navigator’s got an overstretched V6
It’s anything but overstretched. We have about 10k miles on our 2020 Navigator and the engine is amazing. There’s a reason Ford puts this engine in the Raptor and not a V8.
#perfection
Navigator is getting better and better.
...ugghhh...the resurgence of the land yachts.
🤣
98k for something so bland and unremarkable? It looks as if the designers too a few "sick" days while snoozing through this one. Is it nice? Yes. But like every last Navigator you are paying for an Expedition with makeup that from the outside looks out of place and dated. I'll have the Jeep TrackHawk and feel alive, or a Range Rover for luxury.
And it's built on a Ford truck platform with a body-on-frame design so it of course has a very truck like ride. Although big, this vehicle is inexpensive to manufacture because it shares many parts with Ford trucks.
The Lincoln Navigator is a great vehicle but I like the 2021 Cadillac Escalade more. I can’t wait to see Cadillac EV’s
Why its ugly n the interior is meh
@@johnathanleonardo912 I like the 2021 Escalade more because it offer a 38 inch curved oled screen, more space,AKG Audio, more technology and Super Cruise(Hands Free Driving)
For its price a boosted V6 is a disappointment. I’d expect a top line V8, not to say the v6 is a slouch.
I'd love one as a luxury rental but I'd own the new caddy with the inline diesel
Good look with the quality n tryna fix it
@@johnathanleonardo912 I hear the 3.5 ecoboost isn't too reliable neither, and the quality is just fine thanks
There's no reason a family vehicle should cost $77-$98 thousand! Automobiles are getting ridiculous!
Absolutely NO reason at all? Hmmm
if you’re poor just say so
And thats why we have Crv's and highlanders for your type
Just wait till they're off lease in 3 years... they'll be all over the ghetto in 10 years
@@vacationcrazy1 Nice "ghetto"
Ridiculous pricing. Turning owners into leasers.
1 word lx570
Lincoln has definitely overtaken cadillac by far now
...not even close
2021 Escalade. Hold my beer...
35,424 Escalades vs 18,656 Navigators 2019. How exactly has Lincoln overtaken Cadillac?
those rims are hideous
Classy. Wish they put a V8 in it.
Exactly a twin turbo gdi engine is not going to last as long or be as reliable as a N/A v8
They need to offer the 5.0 in some way shape or form
@@lik_2x435 true, I’m the kind of person that wants to keep vehicles for a long time. I think ford thinks if you buy this truck, you’ll buy a new one in two years.
Virtually no useful information about the practicality of the car regarding the interior or technology. One of the more poor reviews of a vehicle I've ever seen.
You obviously never watched motorweek. 🙄
Hate those wheels
100k nope .
I don't understand why this was tested again. It's the same truck it was 2 years ago, just in a different trim. It drives the same and there is literally no real difference beyond some leather and features. It's a total waste of a episode. MotorWeek is already behind when it comes to testing the latest cars and then you waste time testing cars that have been tested already.
Can't afford it ... don't like it ... won't buy it. I WILL buy a Hyundai Palisade Limited though!
For $98k, Range Rover any day!
@Eddy Jean Buy new or lease? Problem solved. Buy used and out of warranty? Roll those dice. Most luxury SUV's suffer from this as they are all full tech that will fail. Make a car payment or a repair payment. A used Navigator is no exception.
@Eddy Jean 98k is most likely new.
@Reconstituted Redeemed2 a range rover supercharged can do what these 3 will do
These suck so badly don't even waste your money there a pain in the ass to work on and when they break its extreamly expensive
It's an overweight, oversized, silly mummy bus.
It prefers "Expedition with lipstick" Kind of like it's rival "Escaburbahoe"
Ferrari prices for a truck.....
Which Ferrari? Don't think you can even get a recent used one for this price.
@@ma7mgte He's talking about Ferrari Tractors.
@@user-tt2fh8nf1o Rather have a Lamborghini tractor. Much cooler!
sorry, the wheels are ugly
Lol it looks 10 years old. Go Murica
Impress who, exactly? I see an overweight, bloated SUV that I would not be caught driving if you paid me. Again, impress who?
Freedom of choice. I wouldn't be caught dead driving the crap you drive. Live and let live buddy.
The nursing home or the ghetto. Neither are places you want to impress and get attention at.
IF I could afford a 100K Vehicle.... and need it to be a BIG SUV.... THE CADILLAC ESCALADE would be the one.. not this POS with a 6 cylinder! ha is even funny, my neighbor daughter has one just like the one in the video so when she comes to visit her parents I see the HUGE BIG SUV but when pass in front of my house ... you hear the tiny engine... is embarrassing
Funny enough this Lincoln will shit on an Escalade in every performance category regardless of sound.
Not been our experience at all. The V6 is pretty damn quiet, hardly overworked. The only noise that you really hear is the waste gate from the turbo.
I bet she doesn't hear it inside the vehicle. I've been in one, it's like a vault... no engine noise at all.
UNRELIABLE TRUCK $$$ COSTLY BAD 02 SENOR AS ALWAYS LINCOLN/FORDS PROBLEM BAD MOTORS ALL TRIM ... WHICH MOTOR WEEK DONT TELL CAUSE WHEN AUTO COMPANYS PAYING YA SALARY THE $$ IS WORTH THE LIE ..
Overpriced Ford Expedition. I'd rather have a Yukon Denali.
Using the same logic. Isn't a Yukon Denali just an overpriced Tahoe?
@@inomad Exactly!
An overpriced Tahoe/suburban.😆😆😆
You're in Yukon Denial when you mention Yukon Denali.
@@inomad Don't rip on the Escaburbahoekon! Some like their pigs wearing lipstick. 🤣
