Looks like someone watched a Bayverse movie and thought "What if G1 Transformers changed like that?". The only part of the transformation I liked was the arms and the cassette.

Yeah, sadly, that's a hard pass from me. It admittedly looks great in both modes, but that transformation is a hot mess. Look closely during the leg panel explosion (3:40ish, 6:05) - you can see paint wear/chips and this is an official transformation video... Then at 5:20 you can almost hear people on the forums screaming about scratches and broken tabs. Certainly one for the MIB and Detolf collectors.
Yeah, if I were to buy this figure he'd basically stay in robot mode forever. Sadly if he had an alternate head that looked like the G1 toy's (or better still the Marvel comic) head I'd actually be tempted for that alone.

Imma get it because I collect Fanstoys, but holy shit. That transformation, for it turning into a glorified box is convoluted as anything bayverse related. Not good.
The transformation here misses the crucial detail of *pulling straight down on the foot* to unlock a tab that connects to the shin piece, before opening up the leg. Otherwise it's very difficult and you risk breaking something… But on another note, it's awesome in hand! Build, engineering, paint, all great as always.
Man I like FT products but I'm not a slave to them so it's easy for me to pass on this when I already have the DS... I hope that those who nit-pick everything non FT be honest about this... This figure doesn't need this much engineering but when DS made theirs I guess over engineering is the answer??
4:57 how do you even fish that part out when going from boombox to 'bot mode? a tool would need to be super thin and I can already see paint chipping on the joints, a tool would just make it worse
The paint seems similar to what they've used for Jive's shins. Hopefully, any mistransformations from out-of-the-box doesn't involve anything with the legs and feet. Just need bot mode to place on a shelf and not touch again.
Personally, I like complicated transformations, because transforming bots is when I am having the most fun with them so I want that process to last longer (and I enjoy the challenge of the puzzle). Once again, another beautiful masterpiece from the leaders of the MP world. Great job Fans Toys! The kid who transforms these is the luckiest kid in the world. I bet his dad works for Fans Toys or owns it. Seriously, what a lucky kid! Thanks everyone at Fans Toys! I've gotten out of the hobby a little, due to board games taking up more of my money these days, but you guys never disappoint. You are the beating heart of MP. And great job on the innovative hand hiding transformation. It always irked me that every company forever always did the same thing to hide hands on every figure. I think that the issue here is that the (over complicated) transformation serves little other than to artifically increase the part count, and therefore increase the cost. I also doubt that is a child transforming the bot for the video...

For bot and tape deck mode. But the cartoon/movie, he's only off-center/asymmetrical in the tape deck mode, at the lid, and symmetrical in root/robot mode
Is it me or do these characters which have simple transformations (Cliffjumper, Jazz and now Blaster) have these over complicated and over engineered Transformations with faux parts for absolutely no reason at all? Is this a shift happening. Is parts forming on non-combiners next. I think I may have to cancel this pre-order and hit up Show-Z for Defamation Space
Do you actually own any of the mentioned figures or have you just seen reviews on them? Genuine question because Parkour is not actually that complicated to transform but does have QC issues also, if you look at the design compared to mp45, you can see that Parkour is not trying to have a 1/1 accurate alt mode like mp45 but is doing that for the robot mode instead. This means that there is a proportional difference in size between the alt modes cab and his chest* in robot mode so if they didn't use faux parts, it would end up looking like mp21 not mp45. So yes there was a very good reason for Parkour atleast.

Jazz with faux side feet and now Blaster with faux speakers...all with over-engineered transformations. No excuse whatsoever. What are you, some FT's shill on a whole level above BSF (even he is crititical of their new direction)? And instead of naming numbers...try giving me the actual names

WTF is this? Blaster turns into a box, there is no need for a transformation this complicated. The feet alone are a dozen little steps just to get them to fold back into the leg. That could have been done a lot more simply. Overall this seems fiddly with a ton of small and easy to miss steps for robot and rado modes that aren't better than the Deformation Space Blaster that is still selling for $90.
Wow, who thought this was good to produce is crazy. They over complicated it like they did with Jive and Parkour. And the paint chipping is really bad. I don't understand why they don't clear coat those parts for the price they ask. I am so glad I picked up Deformation Space's version. I see the cassette bot suffers the same as their two others offered with RP Acoustic Wave, floppy floppy.
It's an adult collector's, MP-styled figure. We are supposed to be capable of doing and handling complex tasks. TT set the stage for the rest, and FT has to top it. Or they can't be considered the best brand.

When you look at all the moving parts from 3rd part compared to Hasbro/Takara it’s not even close. All the flaps and folds in the legs, how do you even come up with that? Oh god I can already hear Emgo's comments about this transformation. This is entirely over-engineered and too complicated for a G1 bot who turns into a box. Faux parts to make what could have just been left showing in both modes, forcing parts past other parts, paint on parts that rub together (your demo video has paint scratched off? Really?)...this guy is a festival of poor design choices. Plus the radio mode looks way too simplistic, going for cartoon-accuracy should only apply to the robot modes. The alt modes should have at least *some* real-world details.
