I agree with a lot of what you said. I have both and this is how I look at it. The laser is amazing at custom and prototyping. It also has the added benefit of cutting wood, acrylic, etc. The clicker press is for those items you need to churn out quickly and mass produce. Also, a little less cleanup with the clicker press. Ultimately, I believe they both have a space in a leather workflow.

I've been wanting to get a laser, but I'm curious about the resulting burnt edges of the leather. Do you just sand that off?

Could you please let me know if the laser cutter makes the edges of the leather burn black? I noticed in your videos that the black dirt from cutting is visible on the top and bottom of the leather. Is there a way to avoid it? Thank you 🙏

One thing I think you should add to the cost of laser are programs. I know there are free programs to use like inkscape for designing, but I think most professionals use Adobe programs which do cost. Lasers other than the glow forge also use different software for setting up cuts, like lightburn.

100%. Good call out. I take for granted that ive had an adobe creative suite subscription for years. But there are quite a few simple, free softwares to design SVG files and such.

@@80ProofGoodsAgreed, I do all my laser designs in Inkscape and import them into lightburn. And to be fair, I got a 60W CO2 laser with a 20x28 bed size and lightburn for half the cost of a glowforge pro, so there really is cheaper options for this great tool
