I have seen folks catching them on the Eno River (Durham/Hillsborough) with their hands and just collecting them in a jar. They linger around and under the edges of rocks and seem plentiful in the summer months. Happy exploring!

Good job, I applaud your interest and dedication for catching Crayfish/ Crawfish!
Over the years, trial and error experiences has shown me personally that Long Metal Food Tongs are the most effective implement to catch individual Crawfish/ Crayfish.
Long Food Tongs can be a very effective extension of your hands to safely catch Crayfish and are also a personal safety defense devise from Snapping Turtles or Snakes, even broken glass bottles!
For catching larger size Crayfish in mass check out Crayster Crayfish traps. I like their Snake River Trap.
Best Wishes Safe Adventures and Journeys catching Crayfish ❤️

Hello from new subscriber. I love crawfish, crabs and lobster videos. Great video and I look forward to your future videos when the weather permits. What state are you in? I am recently relocated to NC and I bought crawfishing supplies when I found out you can catch them here but in the warmer weather like you mentioned. I believe I will also need a license. Take care and thanks for sharing.
