I’m really looking forward to visiting California this summer to see some trains!

Even the rail line was closed at one point. During that time they were moving people between Santa Barbara & Ventura via ferry boats. Monticito was hit by mudslides (along with fires, earthquakes & riots, one of California's four seasons). A buddy of mine was on his nightly 18 wheeler run to L.A. when he was hit by a wave-size moving wall of mud. It was only a life time of driving experience that kept him upright. He was trapped on the freeway for three days before they were able to cut thru all of the debris and with a Highway Patrol escort move a several mile long stretch of vehicles down to city streets and get them on their way.😮
