Thanks for the shout out Jesse! Side mount diving it one step into technical diving. Tim and I are working towards the Extended Range which would allow us to go to 200ft and have multiple gases for Deco obligations. We currently have Helitrox and can go to 150 ft. Next would be full trimix and deeper range.

Sidemount is amazing, BUT you need to find a good instructor. Her cylinders are way too far back and low. Even if she had a free flowing second stage she could feather the valve, or shut the cylinder down. That’s part of proper sidemount training. I also keep a $25 IP gauge in my save a dive kit to help diagnose regulator issues on the surface or before a trip. It’s a nice tool to have.
As for off a boat I can clip off my two tanks and giant stride off a boat in 3-4’ waves just as fast as most rec divers with single tank backmount.
Try a low volume mask if you’re having issues with your perifetsl vision too. 🤙🏻
Sorry you got scared away from it by her experience. Cool video.

all good thoughts, thanks for sharing! Hah, it's strictly the amount of equipment that's scaring me away... I can barely handle what I've got now. But staying down twice as long could be cool, maybe one day... I will check out your cave diving videos, very cool! I can promise you I will never do that haha

@@yanosauce I would never tell someone to cave dive. 🤣 YOU need to want to cave dive. I would only recommend the instructor for cave. As for the gear the only real difference is you have a second cylinder. You still have two second stages just like backmount. I’ll be honest finding a good instructor that is always diving sidemount, and didn’t self certify after a handful of dives is important. Lee diving🤙🏻
