Mermet Springs, spoonbills, paddlefish, albino catfish oh my!
North wall dive around Mermet Springs, I saw the most spoonbills/paddlefish I've ever seen in my life!,, in addition to a couple of albino catfish, also a rare sight.

A few waves on Nazaré's north shore. This is not the season for the monster surfing waves, but still plenty of power out there for those of us accustomed to the Atlantic shore waves on the US eastern seaboard.

First (a year later)!! I am guessing you are about to get a whole lot of views on this clip from people searching for Pylon Aviation after the Cletus McFarland's video.
Beautiful!
Can't wait to dive this. Hopefully do a long technical dive. Nice video
@@albertojhernandez169 thanks! Yeah should be great for a tech dive! As you can see we only skimmed the deck.
That is super awesome.
thank you!! Yeah if you're ever in key west, highly recommend this dive!
Good stuff.
Love the shout outs! Bluegill nests, I guess that they do move the rocks to a point. I don't dive with the lobster tickler any more. So funny that you remember that! 😂 We don't dive with any tank bangers anymore. I congratulate you for finding a mask/snorkel AND a crawfish claw. Pennyroyal looks pretty cool! We need to go to Kentuky and visit that place. Diving in OH next weekend. You should come!!
"Lobster tickler" haha, never knew it was called that. Thank you, it was just my day for finding things :) Yes, add Pennyroyal to your list. Tough getting a table, but it's something different.
Hi, i would like to sub to your channel but you have 69 subs so im sorry. I hope you understand.
Thanks for the video. I haven't been to Mermet since 2006 there was no jet ski that I remember, there was a helicopter fuselage if I remember correctly. I did get lucky and get a few photo's of a spoonbill on my first visit there so that was pretty cool. Also you aren't kidding about flounders camo, I took a photo of one in Turks that I didn't even know it till I got back and was going though my photos lol.
Wow, been a little while! I've only been diving 5 years, and they've added a couple of things in that span (houseboat and scuba police car), so perhaps a lot more since 2006. I'm very jealous of your spoonbill sightings haha, altho I did get my best look ever at a couple back in May. Turks sounds amazing, will have to get out there one day. Surprised you saw the flounder later, good eyes!
Sidemount is amazing, BUT you need to find a good instructor. Her cylinders are way too far back and low. Even if she had a free flowing second stage she could feather the valve, or shut the cylinder down. That’s part of proper sidemount training. I also keep a $25 IP gauge in my save a dive kit to help diagnose regulator issues on the surface or before a trip. It’s a nice tool to have. As for off a boat I can clip off my two tanks and giant stride off a boat in 3-4’ waves just as fast as most rec divers with single tank backmount. Try a low volume mask if you’re having issues with your perifetsl vision too. 🤙🏻 Sorry you got scared away from it by her experience. Cool video.
all good thoughts, thanks for sharing! Hah, it's strictly the amount of equipment that's scaring me away... I can barely handle what I've got now. But staying down twice as long could be cool, maybe one day... I will check out your cave diving videos, very cool! I can promise you I will never do that haha
@@yanosauce I would never tell someone to cave dive. 🤣 YOU need to want to cave dive. I would only recommend the instructor for cave. As for the gear the only real difference is you have a second cylinder. You still have two second stages just like backmount. I’ll be honest finding a good instructor that is always diving sidemount, and didn’t self certify after a handful of dives is important. Lee diving🤙🏻
Thanks for the shout out Jesse! Side mount diving it one step into technical diving. Tim and I are working towards the Extended Range which would allow us to go to 200ft and have multiple gases for Deco obligations. We currently have Helitrox and can go to 150 ft. Next would be full trimix and deeper range.
cool, thanks for the explanation!

I do remember! Thanks for stopping by again,, yeah I had some serious exposed wires, kind of surprised no one called me out on it way back then. When I took the case apart again in an effort to hide them, a lot of the slots and holes in it made much more sense the second time around hah. There's still a few that I could probably tuck away a little better, but I'm much happier with how it looks now, quite clean. Thank you! Think I'm pretty much done with the hardware aspect of it (constantly futzing with software and drivers heh), I certainly appreciate the support, and if you've got any comments or ideas feel free to share!

sweet man! Yeah I'm satisfied, bridge mode working great. If I've got one complaint the bass is a little soft, I'll fiddle with the knobs in the back, maybe one of them will boost it. But overall very satisfied.

I enjoyed the punch!
Just saw your build vlog. Don't have the time rn to check every piece but...your PSU is turned upside down. The fan should face the bottom of the case - there is a cutout for air and a filter you can pull out from the front/bottom. This way the PSU and GPU fans pull against eachother. Oh and next time be a little more carefull when placing the board - try to hold it on the heatsinks/slots, line it up and lower it down while looking for the i/o shield to be in place...you can slightly adjust it then before screwing it down. Just always line up the wholes with the stands or it could damage the board. Otherwise, good job and have fun configuring! :) €: Fans are in the right direction on the top
Thanks for all the advice. I did have the same thought with the PSU orientation, but I'm pretty sure (will double check) the book said if installing in the bottom, orient the fan up. Maybe it wasn't taking into account a case with legs and a gap at the bottom? Thanks for bringing that to my attention, I'll take another look. Seems I got lucky with the mobo, everything working so far 🤞
@@yanosauce Sometimes the manuals are a little confusing, yeah. Generally said: Every case where the PSU located at the bottom is like that. The idea was to not suck in hot air (from cpu, gpu, vrm etc) and not use the PSU as an exhaust to keep it cooler. These rubber stands are there just for dampening vibrations (isn't really needed but...) You would've been really unlucky if your handling would have broken something, but it's always better to avoid any risks :) Interesting enough what youtube serves me while beeing on influenza and covid. If I can help with 50% brain cells on vacation why not xD One thing you could do in addition is putting the top front fan to the bottom, too or get one additional Fan and put it there. Take out the cover sitting above the hdd cage and also the cage if you don't plan on using any 3,5" drive. This gives you a better flow and more air for your GPU
@@FoRk-One all very interesting ideas and thoughts, thank you! I will definitely circle back and consider all of that. Glad I threw all this online hah, getting advice from fokes who know way better than me.
@@yanosauce Np, have built a few systems in the PB500 - good case but not too much space for cable routing. Two more things... use the other plug of the pci-e power cable and use a cable tie / velcro to strap it down. And I think...the CPU cooler should be turned 90° - not a big deal but look it up in your manual. There should be a recommendation for pump orientation. When you configure the fans/pump in the bios set the pump to 100% and listen if you can hear bubble noises from the pump area. You can tilt the system and help to get all of the air into the radiator until it's silent...when the rad is on top the air won't be pushed down aynmore if not tilted or moved again... Hope it helps and doesn't confuse or anything :) €: btw. set the fan curves in a way so you have positive pressure (more air pumped into the system than sucked out) ideally. Helps with dust a little and prevents a little vacuum effect above the gpu...you can do this later on with an additional fan or watch your temps and decide if you need it... Just found a 500DX manual...can't see anything written (page 20) just pictures...if you look where the power cord/switch is located and where the psu is mounted to the bracket you can see it. If it's there just ignore the manufacturer - trust me bro xD
@@FoRk-One didn't even think about air in the radiator 😬. Man I thought I was done ,, still a lot to fix haha :( I really appreciate all the feedback
Thanks everyone! Surprised I didn't run into more problems than I did, knock on wood. But for now, runnin' like a champ!
hell yeah man
Don't feel so bad I pulled my GPU out without releasing the push latch like an idiot on a new 4090 and it snapped the latch out of the motherboard, luckily I didn't snap the GPU connector and was able to reconnect the latch pretty easily def won't ever do that again.
oh geez,, glad there wasn't any permanent damange, whew! Yeah I'll definitely try to remember the latch if I ever take it out.
