Sound is being enhanced through the speaker just like in new SL and GT cars. The dead giveaway is that when you put down the windows and rev the engine the engine and exhaust sounds seem to get quieter, not louder.
My first ride with G63AMG ended up with one front wheel in the air.... and I loved it! This is the real character of the true G class. Now - with that new suspension - sure, it may offer a better handling in the corners, but doesn't it kill its personality? ;-)

However, after seeing the presentations and discovering that they’ve made it a hybrid V8 with artificial engine sounds from the speakers, removed the iconic IWC watch, added the cheap plastic buttons to the steering wheel, I decided to go ahead and get the previous model. I’d rather forego the updated MBUX system than drive a hybrid G-Wagon, let alone a fully electric one.
Same here: never selling my AMG S63 Cabrio with the 5.5L. It is stock and dynos at 605hp w 664 ft. lbs of torque. It has luxo and beast modes. But the G is the statement - it says it all.
Virtually every one imported into the USA will be a pavement princess. I love how MB kept the twin exhaust tips underneath the rear side doors. Great review!!!

Correct me on this, but i think they added enhanced sound in the speakers. It's pretty hard to believe they made a newer car louder than the old one. I believe they did this in the other AMG SUVs which is a bit dissappointing if you know where the sound comes from.
interested in the slightly revised burmester cudos to amg. They improved almost everything. This is what we want, don't take something already perfect away from us, do some light improvements, it will sell. Wished it was just a bit lighter and louder. Maybe the akrapovic side cats might do some

Has nothing todo with typical hybrids and is normal in most new ICE cars. There is not a single mercedes motor without it anymore. And pre facelift was also with speaker sound sadly
