- Blue Crabs, In this video we'll be in Mississippi crabbing between Pascagoula and Bay St. Louis. We'll be crabbing 2 days the first day in Pascagoula and the second in Bay St. Louis. The weather was very hot both days between 98 and 102 degrees so we didn't know how that would affect the Blue Crabs but if anything it had a positive affect because the crabbing was good. We used ring traps, handlines and chicken for bait. At the end of the day we cleaned the Blue Crabs, cooked them on the tailgate of our truck with some fresh corn and took the crabs back to our room for a great dinner. I've always had trouble with crabs dashing up and out of metal basket traps. I like the string ring traps because the crabs wedge themselves into the net thinking that they can escape through the bigger mesh,they have more trouble climbing it too. I'm not trying to preach lol, just trying to relate to my favorite u tube crabbing and fishing folks. I'm loving the idea of roadside cooking😂, gonna have to put together a little kitchen tote just for such a thing. My husband likes y'alls channel too. We are 60, been married forever and we absolutely love to tent camp, fish crab etc.

Those crabs were feisty. Must have been the heat. I don't know how those two crabs jumped out of Ms. Joyce's net. Oh what a bummer. Dinner looked really yum. Never mind the wind, I put the closed caption on the video when the wind overrides the sound a bit. Besides wind or not it is always a good video with Mr. Sam and Ms. Joyce. Loved it all.

Oh I’m so happy to see my fellow crabbers. I’m a SC crabber and would love to crab with you both. I really enjoyed it and Mrs Joyce I know how you feel when that good one get away. I also put smoked sausages in my crab boil to flavor the carb meat. Thanks for the great video.

Hey Sam, I watch a crab cleaning show from Maryland. They cut directly across the back of the crib with us. Swimming flippers are caught about a half an inch into the back right across then cut the crib completely and half vertically all the meat Chambers opening to meet comes out in big chunks try it.

I remember the very small crabs being used in gumbo and the only gumbo was seafood gumbo, made with crabs and small shrimp..

Joyce is on probation again for a week for loosing more keeper crabs. I assess a fine of two homemade onion rolls that are to awarded to Sam. Nice mess of crabs. Great video guys. We finally got some rain 3.7 inches. Our first rain in over 130 days.

Love that you all go crabbing and cook them take them back to the room to eat. I actually would love to try and do crabbing with ring traps. My husband would not go with me and when I do get crabs he generally get the claws and I take the body he is not that into blue crabs. Funny thing is I met him while I was eating in a place that served Garlic blue crabs.
It's fun catching and cooking crabs and going back to our room for dinner. It's better than a restaurant and cheaper lol. Thanks again for Watching
Looks like fun... despite the heat... Joyce..? don't worry about it.. ring traps can be soo tricky sometimes... corn looks deelish 2.. but I never cook corn-n-cob more than a few minutes max. gets tough I think..

If I learned anything from this it looks like the metal ring traps are easy for the crabs to climb out of.
You're right, they can't tear the metal ones up but the nylon traps hold the crabs better. Thanks for Watching
Love you guys content. While the metal mesh traps are sturdier and easier than the cloth l am not a fan because the crabs seem to be able to find their footing and get out of them.
You're right I just liked them because they're stronger and for some reason the crabs seemed to go in them more than our large heavy mesh ring traps. Thanks for Watching

We just like the whole Biloxi area from Bay St. Louis to Pascagoula. The people are very friendly, less crowded at fishing piers, real restaurants not chains, the nautical atmosphere, the fishing rules make sense, it's like Florida used to be 40 years ago. Thanks a lot for Watching

Yes it was, casinos are the best place to stay they're the same price or cheaper than a traditional hotel, you have security, the rooms are usually quieter because of better construction and nice views. Thanks a lot for Watching
