@@hudnad3741 I haven't yet as we have actually had a bunch of rain. Since it has started getting hot and my tomato plants are doing well I am going to try with those. Though I still need to get actual Terra cotta planters that are made of the real ceramic, and not glazed or the plastic stuff that seems to be sold everywhere.
I have bought a gravity driven watering system by Tropf Blumat. I’m so excited to try it out this summer. Each pot/bed is watered with the help of a ceramic sensor. No timer needed.
WHEN I SAW YOUR TILE HAVING TWO WRDS TOGETHER THAT MEANS THE SAME ONE IN SPANISH AND THE OTHER IN ENGLISH; I WAS GOING TO COMMENT THAT OLLAS MEANS POTS IN SPANISH BUT YOU ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT IT MEANS🤔😁😀😂
I made a similar system DIY style with those long permeable semi-perforated hoses. They are almost paper consistency, but are some sort of fabric. It seems like someone could do the same with this system. Maybe not for everybody, I get the appeal of having a ready made product. But for me, I prefer making it. And it’s a lot cheaper.
Where did you get your planters? Bought or made? I need something exactly like that. Along with the watering system that I’m about to order 😊 great video!
2:55 Just a question, you said that your beds are 8 feet long and the radius of the "watering pot"/olla is 2 feet, which would mean you need 2-3 pots not 4 right? 🤔 I imagne what you said as 2 feet water space, the olla, 2 feet watering space, 2 feet watering space, the other olla, 2 feet watering space. Which would make 8 feet. I am genuinely just confused😅, would love some help understanding ❤
@@kavi212 Oh yes. Perhaps I should have, not sure. But now I just did and I found your comment. But for some reason it is not showing a reply to your question from her maybe it was removed or glitched out. 🤷♀️
I am a fan of the wine bottle watering things, same thing, I see when it needs more water. Only thing is they are a bit fragile as you kinda think “oh just shove the SPIKE IN” yeah don’t dig a small hole with a spoon or something and pit it like a plant.
All my pots are plastic apart from one gifted by a Neighbour with Catnip..which the gift was for the cat not me haha. Ill move to terracotta later on when I have all the plants I want
Living in Central Texas where our summers are brutal, this was great info.
Glad it was helpful!
My summer is brutal as well.
Have you tried it?

I grow roses in half wine barrels would this actually work in the wine barrels? It seems like it would at least the kit the smaller terra-cottas.
Kebun kecilku sering di tabrak Biawak 😌..
Did you build those or buy those elevated garden beds? If you built them can you share plan or template?
they're a kit from Gardeners!

Those can be helpful but don’t work quite the same way so can lead to over or under watering since it’s just constantly coming out
we have the exact same hair style, lol
